Business 387 is a terrible class that no one should have to suffer through. Maybe watch the movie "Office Space" and wait to see the "efficiency expert" team...then you may have a small glimpse into the world Dr. Stebbins calls home. A nice guy at heart but a total oxymoron for a class called ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR. His quizes are lame, if you read the book- you will do worse on exams and possibly become dumber. That whistle and clicker of his will have you up the wall after a week or so. His lectures would be great therapy for people unable to sleep by lulling them into a trance. All this and I still received a B.....a B but it wasn't easy putting up with how lame the class is. I would do everything in your power to avoid this course. Get to know Dr. Stebbins outside of school...like in Cambria where he should be kept. In all fairness, he is a genuinely nice person assigned to teach the a horrendous course.

I am very frustrated with Stebbins teaching style. Be sure to constantly refer to the syllabus, especially the part about keeping a journal, because in class he will tell you what to do for the next class, and mention nothing about what the syllabus says you should do for next class, and then the next class comes around and he expects you to have done what is in the syllabus in addition to what he verbally assigned. You will be graded on 2 group presentations (be sure to refer to terms in the book on these, and include them in your presentations), and a final paper, and pop quizzes, which are timed, short answer questions. I found them very hard because of the time constraint, and the boring book material. I would avoid him if I could.

This class would be extremely easy to get an A in if it were not the most boring worthless class I have ever taken during my 3 years at Poly. I put pretty minimal effort in and got a B but I still feel like we got screwed and should have got at least a B+. Anyway, the class is full of worthless team forming bullshit and exercises that dont even count toward your grade. All that counts is a presentation you do on a case study 25%, a few random pop quizzes that are really annoying and 25% of your grade, a group paper about your team's experience 15%, community service activity (we did a beach clean up)25%, and participation 10%. The book is terrible and the pop quizzes are straight from the reading which is heavy and boring as all hell. Oh ya also, one day we massaged the person's back and shoulders sitting next to us and followed that with no joke 20 minutes of meditating and all this weird shit.. I took a video of it on my phone. Point is, dont take this class unless you have to or have a high tolerance for putting up with worthless mundane material and lectures. The class is really easy though, its pretty much a joke.

I couldn't really understand Stebbins, he didn't speak very loud or very clearly for that matter. Well as long as the Lakers are doing well, you won't get too many quizzes. At least that's what it was in my class, the first two quizzes were pop quiz and no one did really well. Later he told us when the quizzes were and you worked on teams instead of individuals and it got better. There were two projects, which wasn't too bad. READ THE BOOK, it helps on the first presentation quite a bit. Although I found his grading system strange, a "one of the best he's ever seen" got me a 94 while something that's average will get a 85.

Professor Stebbins is one of the best professors that I have had here at Cal Poly. He can be boring at times, but the times that he is interesting I think make up for the boring times. He grades kind of weird, and I only got a B which pissed me off, but for some reason I liked the guy. I learned a lot in his class, and I liked the structure of the class. It's a lot of group projects and in class tests that can be a little tough, but the class is worth taking. I found Stebbins to be a great professor, and he has lots of knowledge from the "real world" when he used to work in the medical industry. The thing I liked about him most of all, was how down-to-earth he was. Most Bus professors are very arrogant and full of themselves (especially econ ones) although Stebbins sets himself apart from other professors and seems to truly care about his students. He will go out of his way to help students as well. He moved our class to a bigger room in another building to accomodate crashing students. A lot of professors in the COB could give a shit about whether the students get the class, and would never take on more work load or have to walk to another building to accomodate students. Stebbins sets himself apart in that respect. Even though the material can be repetitive and boring at times, I think the class was educational and worth taking.

I had stebbins for 387 and 478. 387 was a breeze, but 478 was the most torturous class i've ever taken at Poly. The readings are horribly boring and his lectures make you want to die. He doesn't even try to make class somewhat stimulating or interesting. I learned nothing from the class. His class is a waste of tuition money and about 10 trees. Be prepared to print out about two reams worth of computer paper.

***DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, I AM WARNING YOU*** Stebbins is a really nice guy and a good fella. He tells us about his family often and how his garden is growing (in addition to many pictures) and even invited the entire class to drop by their house sometime in Cambria to amble about his and his wife's backyard ("even if we're not there"). Unfortunately, Bus 478 is probably the worst class I've ever taken in college, and I thought Business and Government (Bus404) with Bertozzi was bad! STEBBINS IS PERHAPS THE MOST BORING TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. The books are so dry I absorb nothing. The books are pricey too; this little, teeny book that should cost about $4.99 costs $60. Stebbins class is confusing, his quizzes are impossibly hard, and... I just hate it... I really do.

Worst instructor I've ever had period. The reading material is extremely dense and his lectures do not help at all. He gives ridiculously hard quizzes which are worth 50% of your grade. Avoid this class at all costs!

What the hell is going on......This is the question you will be asking yourself if you take this class. After a lecture in this class you will actually feel dumber and you may even be moved to vomit or poop. If you have seen the new James Bond at the end where he is being tourtured by the bad guy hitting him in the nuts with a heavy ball, this is how you will feel after this class. Stebbins is a very nice and smart guy; however, I think that he forgets that we dont all have the same knowledge base as him and that we actually require him to teach us the material. Please teach us!!!!!!!Im tired of getting kicked in the nuts by teachers at Cal Poly!

Stebbins is my favorite professor next to Shani. Sometimes his lectures are a little long and boring, but not often. And the quizes are a little tough. But other than that the class was interesting, the project was a good experience, and the midterm and final were fair. Make sure you participate occasionally, I went to every class but didnt say much in discussions and he gave me a B on participation.
