Prof. Seaberg is a great teacher with a wealth of real life experience to learn from. He may be a bit more idealistic than you're standard textbook professor, but knows so much about the art of personal selling and marketing that he is truly a great inspiration. This is coming from an alumni that appreciates the lessons learned in Seaberg's Sales & Leadership class.

Mr. Seaberg is probably the best teacher I've ever seen. I've never met a man that has had more respect for his students than he has. He is highly respected by the University and was sought upon instead of having to apply for a job to teach Agribusiness here. Since he is retired, you might not be as lucky as I was to be in his AGB 202 class since he takes quarters off to vacation with his wife. The guy is always smiling, no matter how bad his day is, he always cracks corny old man jokes, presents the material in a clear, concise, no-bullshit manner and will never make a student feel stupid. Mr. Seaberg is always open to questions and will let you keep submitting new drafts of reports/term papers and homework assignments until you get the grade you want. He understands that learning business concepts are difficult because most students have not had experience in the business field, but provides VALUABLE, real-life input all quarter long for anyone planning to go into any type of business in the future. The man is a true entrepreneur and has made a lot of money just by doing what comes natural to him. Although his lectures may get repetitive at times, the class is very enjoyable. And he grades easy, so if you put just a little bit of thought into your assignments, I guarantee you'll end up with a high A in the class; he only assigns two easy projects and a few homework assignments throughout the quarter that will take 20 minutes each, maximum. If you take this class, I'm sure you'll be pumped up for a future career in business, even if it doesn't have to do with agriculture.

Dr. Seaberg is an excellent teacher. His methods are different than most teachers but he teaches some great life lessons on top of basic ag sales. He had just come out of retirement for my class but it really wasn't noticeable. He's a good teacher.

Seaberg can come off as one of those late night infomercial salesmen but he does have some great advice to give after many years of doing sales and company analysis. My end of quarter project will probably be my basis for my senior project.

Dr. Seaberg is one of the most understanding professors i have ever had at cal poly. He knows his shit and that's it. This quarter he came out of retirement like some of the reviews say down below and he knows everything about the business world you can know. When you can't turn something in at the end of the quarter he gives you time over the summer to do it and then he will give you credit. But seriously the main thing he focuses about in the class is how to make you better prepared for the job world and beyond, and a perfect example is the attaction plan in which you have to make a presentation at the end of the quarter and then you also have to memorize all the names of your classmates but then that's not bad because it's only usually 25 to 30. Another thing show up everyime to class because in the beginning of the quarter you have 10 points added to your grade everyday so show up and do the work. Most of the time people came to class because we wanted to look at all the different ties he has in his collection and they are hilarious. In the end he is like a grandpa and he seriously looked out for everybody in our class and i wish that all professors were like him because he understands we are college students and cares for our needs. he's our grandpa. A++++

Dr. Seaburg is excellent. He is a really understanding teacher, and the best 202 teacher there is. Hes a college legend, I had speakers for other classes who all mentioned this guy as being a key to their success. He is very passionate about what he does, and has real life experience to back it off. He can be idealistic at times, but just go with him, he can really open up your mind to new ideas.

Seaberg is a really good teacher. his class is pretty easy he assigns very little homework and only has one test. the test is to remember everyones name in the class. the worst part of the class is the graidng scale is 95 and above for an "a" and 90-95 for a "b" and so on. it is a good class to take though

A+++, he is a baller. Best teacher i have ever had, teaches with passion, and cares for the students. He wrote his own textbook and really knows what he is doing. he must be about 70 years old but he has the heart of a 25 year old and the energy of a three year old, great teacher, great class, need i say anymore

This guy is cool! Even at 8:00 in the morning he's cheery and excited about class. The class pretty much consists of sitting there, turning in a few papers now and then which take about 15 minutes to do and doing one powerpoing presentation at the end for the final! He's always available to talk and if you need more time for something he's really understanding. Its easy to get an A or a B no problem!

Well, I'll admit that this class is a little silly but Prof. Seabuerg is so fun and energetic, esp. for a morning class. He's really laid back about turning work in late and he will let you do extra credit no matter what. His class might be a waste of time sometimes, you can easily miss a handful of classes a quarter and still get an A. I would recommend Seaberg just to have him. The simplicity of it is great.

Professor Seaberg is an amazing teacher and is one of the most energetic and helpful people I have ever encountered. My grade was a result of my own poor planning and procrastination, but it is easy to get an A in this class. Although he says he doesn't care when you turn in the homework, just turn it in when its due because it WILL pile up. The project at the end is easy, fun, and mostly busy work but worth putting your time into because its a large part of your grade.

Seaberg is A+. Such a good man, he genuinley wants his students to do well. This class was kind of annoying at times because he made you plan out your entire future career and make a budget for your first year out of college, but the class was fun, and you learn a lot about how to succeed. Also, his grading is pretty weird, he throws out points left and right so you never really know how you stand in the class, but it is easy to keep up with the points and get extra credit all the time. I ended up with an A, so it wasn't too bad not knowing how many points I had. Seaberg is really an amazing guy, and a fun professor.

He is by far the sweetest man! He really wants his students to learn and understand what he has to teach. He loves his job and is great at it. Only one test and it is to learn everyone's name which proved to be very helpful. One kind of big project. You have to make a power point explaining your ideal job and how you plan to get there with what he has taught us. Great teacher, so cheery and excited about life. He is a ball of fire and makes his attitude contagious. Great guy A+

Setting: week one of class Situation: i walk in 2 minutes after the bell Duane: "Kevin, how are you doing this morning" ME: Pretty good Prof. Seaberg, how about your self? Duane: A+ kevin, just A+! This was his attitude all throughout the quarter. His attitude was always A+, and if you have an A+ attitude, it will reflect in your grade. You can do the minimum and get a pretty good grade. But if you take his lectures seriously, you will get a lot out of the class, and have a good time. I had the class at 8:00am mon-thu, and i never missed a class. I was pumped to listen to duane's lectures and his attitude jumpstarted my morning and kept me rolling the whole day. Conclusion: If you have the opportunity to take Professor Seaberg, take it.

Overall I would say Duane is one of the most informative professors I've had at Poly. He is very concerned about students being ready for life when they graduate and that plays into his teaching style. There is alot of busy work that will take you hours but he is very open to "making deals" I offered up doing extra credit projects instead of the book work. I got an A and I didn't have to work very hard for it and I learned alot. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. The hard part is finding the quarter he is teaching.

Duane is an incredible professor who cares deeply for both the education and well being of his students. A star performer! Okay, so the last class I took from him was in 1992 but he was awesome! ;-) Scott Crumpton
