if you want to go listen to a lecture about sex and divorce, then definitely do not hesitate to take perello because the only thing he loves to talk about is how you will end up marrying and divorcing at some point in your life and teaches you how to get money off your ex-spouse...he is very funny though, letcures are long and boring, he is always drinking coffees and talks about lawsuits that are for \"millions\" of dollars. there are online quizzes before and after every lecture and they are rather difficult. that is wahat your grade is based off of. also he gave about 2 written one page quizzes and everybody fails those. there are no midetrns and the final is optional. overall, weird rofessor and BORING class!

perello is a cool cat. he is extremely funny and is one of the cooler teachers at cal poly. he gives two midterms and a final which are all pretty difficult.(the tests are mostly T/F and an essay).he makes challenging tests but he grades accoring to the class average so don't worry. the class average gets a b in the class. his lectures are interesting at times and i managed to not go to class for about two weeks. just read the summaries, study his powerpoint lectures online, and you will do fine.

I had his class with 180 students so it was new for him. WE had three midterms and a final and two papers. His grading was really weird, but I guess it worked out. He is always late, but his lectures aren't boring. He is funny, tells a lot of jokes and cusses like crazy. I would recommend him.

Dr. perllo is a very funny and knoledgable teacher. He seemed to have a story or example for every topic. He was very good at explaining ideas in a few different ways to help the class grasp topics. his lectures were fairly interesting with a good deal of notes. He did put all his power point slides on the internet which helps. No hw, no book both plusses. his tests were challenging but he curved, and made the class average a B instead of a C which is nice.

Perello is great. He made a boring subject like Bus. Law into an interesting class with his funny examples and side stories. He is extremely intelligent and although he talks fast, he is easy to understand. The quizes are all short answer and are taken almost every class. They were pretty tough, but if you do well on them you don't have to take the final, so study up! There are 2 out of class assignments: case briefing (boring and hard) and going to the court house to watch part of a trial (very easy). I would highly reccomend Perello as a business law teacher.

Perello was a "great" professor. I really enjoyed going to class and listening to whatever was going to come out of his mouth next. His stories really help to keep my attention and interest, and they helped with remembering answers for his quizzes. We had quizzes everyday, with not one test or midterm and the final was optional. All i had to do was go over my lecture notes and reread his internet notes before class to get an A on every quiz. And if it wasnt an A, then it ended up that way with the curve at the end of the quarter. You do have to sit in on a court case (i actually found it interesting) and do a case brief (boring library assignment). If you do bad on the case brief, he will let you do it over, but chances are you will do fine. Take him! He's "great".

Perello is the best professor I have had at Cal Poly. He makes really boring material very interesting. He tells really funny jokes and stories. Also, he doesn't require you to buy a textbook. And, the best part is there was no midterms and the final was optional (if we liked our grade going into it). The class was based on quizzes, a court assignment, and a case brief. So, go to class, do the easy assigments, and you'll get an A in the class and not have to take the final.

Perello is very good at presenting the material. There was a quiz on the previous classe's material at almost every class session, so studying is a must. His grading style can be a little vague, but if you attend class and read his class notes (online), you should have no problem in doing well in the course.

Perellos no doubt the best teacher ill probably ever have at poly. he makes business law actually worth going to. i took it in the evening, and i was excited to go every time. just go to class...listen, and then take the quiz the next day. simple as that. the case briefing a bitch but at least you dont have to read a huge text bood for $120. After perellos class, through his awesome teaching/grading styles, along with his cool personality and funny stories, you will want to either be a lawyer or you will want to take bus 308, good class!

Perello is the shit. He makes class very interesting, which is hard to do with boring material. He tells lots of stories and gives lots of examples to explain what he is talking about. It's really easy to get a B in the class, a little tougher to get an A. Basically, go to class, take good notes, read the info on the web, look over your notes for quizzes. Perello is probably the best teacher at CP!

Perello is one of the greatest teacher's I have ever met. He doesn't do anything extra special and doesn't have a secret that other teachers don't know about, it's just that the kind of person he is spews out into his teaching. Being a lawyer, entrepreneur, and teacher this guy has a lot of knowledge for you gain from. The lawyer side in him dominates in most of the things he does making listening to him speak an unexpected form of entertainment. He's never boring ans always has a story or great example to relate every piece of information you will learn. If you just go to class, which are so fun they are hard to miss, you will remember most of the material he tests you on because it is so memorable. Like everyone, I recommend you take his 207 and 308, even if you are not a business major. Business 207 should be a G.E., but only if teachers like perello insrtuct it. Great Job, Perello!

He did let me go to his house one day, while he was out doing something or other, and take a missed quiz while his son's friend played Play Station in the back room... little weird but I got to take the quiz! Perello is the man for BUS Law. Period. I could go into into-depth, but there is no need. Whether you plan on going into law in the future, or simply want a greater understanding of it, this is the man to consult. Down to earth person, who knows law because he actually IS a lawyer, unlike too many other professors who couldn't "do" so they "teach." I'm taking 308 now (good class). Oh, for those that matter, grading is extremely fair, but this isn't that kind of class where you worry about your grade - you'll gladly learn the material.

Perello is a very interesting and knowledgable teacher. He is difficult and there is a court project but it is still a great class. I failed his class over summer but I still retook the class with him--that's how great I think he is! He doesn't make you buy some expensive book to store in your closet all quarter; he puts everything you need online! I definitely recommend him and I plan to take him again for other classes. Also, just so you know, his class is a lot more difficult in the summer because he has more time and less students, so he gives multiple short essay questions on all the midterms rather than just scantron, and he has another project that he didn't give in the winter quarter.

Perello is a great Business Law professor. He used to be a practicing lawyer, so he really knows what he's talking about. The class is done solely using PowerPoint (when it works), and the nice thing is he puts all the slides on his website as well as a summary of the section. He has some amazingly funny stories and the examples he uses to illustrate his points are brilliant. He also likes to talk about his other class, BUS 308 (good class) alot. He gave five midterms this quarter and they were not easy, however if you put in the effort you will get an A. The tests really make you think and put your legal knowledge to good use. He also made us go watch a court case downtown, which at first sounded lame, but I actually found it to be really interesting when I went. I feel so empowered by this class because he talks about several areas of law (contracts, renter's rights etc.) and how they apply to Cal Poly students. Every student should take Bus 207 with Perello whether they need to or not, I guarantee that it will be an excellent and enjoyable class.

What can I say? Perello is THE MAN when it comes to law. He is very familiar with the whole legal lingo because he has personal experience with law. His lectures are usually not boring because he uses very interesting examples. He also uses "bad words" sometimes, but it wakes people up and makes people laugh, so it can positive effecs =). He answers any questions that you have during lecture and is pretty good at office hours too. There is no homework, and when I took his class, he didn't even require a book. He makes slides from Power Point, which he uses during his lectures, that are available online. So, you can print them out and study them for the midterms and final and take notes directly on them so you don't have to do any organization of notes. Also, there are readings that he posts online that you should read to become more familiar with the material for his midterms and final. The class has a huge curve. If I recall correctly, the grade that you receive depends on how well the class does. For example, when I took his class, if you had 75% after the final, you would receive an "A" (an "A-" was a 70% - 74%). The midterms and final are not exactly easy, but just take the time to study and get your questions answered (if you have any) and I'm sure you'll do fine. Perello is a cool guy and knows his stuff.

The subject matter is gonna be boring no matter who you take it with. Period. If you have to take the class, which all business majors do, and you aren't really into law or anything, take Perello. No homework, no roll, and Perello does really know his stuff. His notes are very well organized and thorough, and he chooses very interesting examples to talk about in class. I will say I barely went to class, I maybe made it 50% of the time if that. I'm lucky to have gotten an A considering how hard his tests are. However, if you study his notes and know all the terminology backwards and forwards and have a good understanding of it, you'll be fine with or without class. A good class to learn a lot without even going. Oh yea, and tests are really hard....hope you like true and false cause that's almost the whole test, every test. Then you have multiple choice questions for some hypothetical cases, mostly on the final.

the guy was interesting enough to listen to, but the tests were insane. What does it tell you when the average of a midterm was 60%? For a class that size on such boring material, Perello is a decent professor. When there is no real homework and just 2 tests and a midterm, I guess you can't ask for much else. Just thank the lord for his curve. I consider myself a good student and I got a C and a D on the 2 midterms, and a D on the final. I ended up with a B-! He is really interesting, and he is really funny, but as far as I am concerned he really doesn't do well presenting the material, at all. I stopped going because he completely lost credibility to me when he completely screwed up a basic and fundamental fact, and told me I was wrong when I called him on it. After doing research I found out I was right so I stopped going....But seriosuly a good guy and really interesting. just print all the slides off the internet and put it all on your cheat sheet and you will pass the class no problem. not hard to get a B in this class while you are sleeping...if you went to class every day, you should be able to get an A without even studying, seriously.

Perello is the man, he's seriously a college kid trapped in an older person's body. This class made me want to become a lawyer, and now I'm picking up a law minor and trying to get into law school. He's funny as hell...swears and makes crude, obscene jokes almost obsessive compulsively. All the tests are tough but he has the fattest curve and makes the class average the dividing line between a C+ and B-. There is no book, all the lecture notes are online as well as the reading, and he lets you make a cheat sheet for the tests. The only reason I got a B+ in this class is because I just enjoyed it too much and went to almost every lecture even though there were like 300 people in the class and he didn't take roll, causing me to not really study for it that much. Bottom line-I recommend this guy for anyone who has to take business law.

Perello constantly changes how he teaches his class, but he generally has to shift the grades an enormous amount because most people fail his tests. Each lecture is a collection of powerpoint slides that have a definition on them. He explains the concept to you, and has you read a little too. Overall, your percentage in the class won't be good, but he curves very generously. You do learn a lot. If you go to the lectures and look over the slides the class should not be a problem at all. Perello crams a whole bunch of material into every 2 hour class period. He shows off his lawyer knowlege. He is cocky and arrogant and knows it. Class is boring, you don't need to go. I didn't study really and still got an A. Cheat sheets for tests are allowed, but the averages are still like 50%. He curves majorly. I had to take it, but even if i didn't i probably would have.

Perello has interesting lectures and is funny but his class isn't really organized. His tests are impossible and it seems like every question has 10 answers. He doesn't want students to think that Law is easy and therefore uses complex termonology in order to make students confused. I was extremely annoyed with Perello and would not recommend him. I got above average on 2/3 tests and did very well on the writing yet he gave me a C.... very lame. TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER IF YOU CAN. There's no book which is a bonus however that makes room for lots of stuff that can be on the test that you have no idea what it is.... Overall just don't take Perello.

Perello is a cool guy. Hes pretty funny and cracks a lot of jokes in the class. He swears a lot and is pretty laid back. He knows his shit, probably too well because if you try to argue with him on something, he just twists it around until hes right so hes kind of a dick in that aspect but hes good all around. Perello's class was fun to be in I thought, because he did try to make his lectures interesting. He always had side stories to his notes. I was in the same class as the person below me who had only 2 midterms so that sucked, but he curves the grades a lot. The class average for the test and finals were around 50% so his test are definately difficult no doubt. He said he had all these factors for determing your final grade, like if you gradually improved over the course, or if you aced the final and all that. In the end I would recommend him just because I actually enjoyed listening to all his stories.

His tests are really really hard. i dont think anyone in the class had over an 80% on either midterm. the tests are tricky and you really have to understand what he taught to do well. however, there is a huge curve since everyone always does shitty, so you can still get a good grade. i would highly recommend perello for BUS 207.

Perello is no doubt a very interesting professor but he lacks the skills to get across important information that will stick with a student post grad and beyond. I took Perello's class and to my surprise, there was only ONE test ONE grade- the final. He assigns an INSAINE amount of reading 50+ pages on case studies and terms. It was hard for me to keep up with and i honestly had no idea what grade i was to recieve in this class after the final. Hes a stand up guy but when it comes down to the structure of his class id say its POOR.

The funniest teacher ever. I love it when he makes fun of his ex-wife and swears. He also has some of the best stories I have heard. The test are extremely difficult. On the final I felt like I was guessing on more than half the questions. Luckily the curve is very generous. A 60% was considered an A on all of the midterms. My advice is study the slides a lot. A lot of his questions are hypathetical crap making it hard to pick the best answer.

Perello is HARD CORE! I LOVED this class. It was the only class that quarter I could miss, but I never did! He has a million stories and situations to go with the material which actually helped me remember stuff on the 2 midterms and the final. There is no homework, just reading/studying for the multiple choice tests which have an additional writing portion. Be forewarned however, you will FAIL every test. Some of the questions the answers are ALL correct, you have to pick the best one. He even told us "Well guys, you're all gonna fail this one" before handing out one midterm, and once said "You all sucked on the writing portion, no one got higher than a 9 (out of 20 pts possible), but whatever, even I couldn't write a 20 point answer." What kind of teacher TRIES to make his students fail? But luckily he curves GENEROUSLY, I think an A in my class was a 54%. haha Take him, just for the entertainment of it!

Chris Perello is an AMAZING TEACHER! I loved his class, it was challenging, educational, interesting and extremely well taught. Our class was smaller so he had quizzes each class instead of two midterms, this spread the work out and made sure that everyone studied and showed up to class. But if you missed a quiz he would drop the zero once you came to him and explained your absence. His lecture style is great. He's incredibly entertaining and engaging, and teaches the difficult material very well and thoroughly. His quizzes/tests are difficult but he really curves the scores (and puts the class avg. at the B/C line instead of the C/D). All in all, Chris Perello is wonderful teacher who really wants you to do well and learn. I looked forward to his class every day and was never disappointed. TAKE HIS CLASS!

No doubt Perello is a cool guy and a funny teacher--but bitter and his tests reflect this--i think so. There is no reason Perello can't make "right/wrong" answers, i felt this class was all about multiple guess and not knowledge. If you have taken this class you know what that means. He tries to cover so much info the class could easily be broken into two sections. This makes it absolutely pointless, as every single student unless they take 308, will forget 90% of the material they memorized in a few cram sessions. Good luck talking to this guy about your test scores should you have any difficulties. I think he's on campus twice a week at most, possibly an hour before class (when many other students are in class)

Perello is crude, cynical, but hilarious. He is very realistic and when taught us general law stuff he emphasized how it is as a "practical matter." He told a few good jokes and gave a lot of examples that I could really understand and relate to. He had 2 midterms with mostly general questions and about 10 "difficult" scenario questions. The final was half the 3rd part of the quarter and half cumulative of "difficult" questions. I thought the course was pretty difficult the whole time. I read his entire summary, which is pretty easy to read and almost interesting, and went to all the lectures. It's not really clear going into the exams what exactly will be on them, and the questions are confusing to read, like not proper English. But he has an amazing curve and I got an A with probably 65%.

Badass, such a cool guy, class is fun. When he's not joking around and swearing, the class is dull because of the material, but he's a great teacher. The only thing that pissed me off is the midterms and final. They were ridiculously hard, even if you went to class, did the reading, and studied. The curve helps, but it's still really frustrating. I'm telling you as a matter of fact that Perello is an extremely tough teacher. You will get D's and F's on almost all the quizzes and C's if you're lucky, but with the awesome curve you can easily get an B or A in the class. Some of the material is very dry, but perello is ranting and raving a lot to keep you entertained. Also he watches Family Guy and South Park and recites some quotes from obscure episodes. This was by far my favorite class of the quarter and I recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, yet also challenging, course. No midterm. and if you wish, no final. He made it optional. It seems like he experiments with the class structure every quarter. For my class, it was all online quizzes with two written quizzes. The quizzes ranged in difficulty, some were easy while others were pretty confusing and difficult. The class average was a 65%, which became a B. His grading at the end was a little flawed, because many people did poorly on the first written quiz and at first he said he would drop it or let you make it up, but then ended up using it to determine your overall grade if you were borderline +/-. The final is optional and sounds terrible since he is a hard grader. Makes it seem like you should not take it unless you are failing, and it is your last chance to pass the class. Anyways, he is an entertaining guy and makes the subject interesting with real-life stories from his experiences. Also, he cusses like a sailor, which is funny.

This class was kind of a joke. Because of the way it was set up, I quickly learned going to class was a waste of time and stopped going after week 2. You take online quizzes two or three times a week which your ENTIRE GRADE are based on. His lectures come straight from the book, which has not only the readings, but also the slides printed out for you as well. The one thing that pisses me off is he grading scheme, however. I took every quiz, did all the work, and ended up with a B. I tried to argue with him that if he dropped my two lowest, I would have an A. Not too unreasonable since about 10 other people in the class who had A's had missed one or two quizzes during the quarter and he was just letting that happen. Of course, he came up with some lame excuses. So make sure you have the grade you want before the last quiz because otherwise, you might be a victim of his obviously flawed and bias grading scheme.

Perello is a wonderful teacher. His lectures were pretty interesting, he always had some funny story to tie in with the material. The grade is based on online quizzes and two written quizzes. There are a lot of online quizzes, so it was kind of hard to keep track of them. I missed one or two of them but he didn't penalize me too much for it, I still received an A. The quizzes are short (5-10 mc) and if you read the material aren't too bad. The written quizzes on the other hand are really hard. I think I ended the class with a 69 or 70 percent and that was an A, so as long as you can keep up with the curve you can get a good grade.

He is SMART! He makes the laws make sense for an intro to law class. His lectures are interesting. It is a class that you have to work for your grade. His grading scale is different, for example a 69% is an A and a 40% is a C. It just depends on the highest grades in all his classes. There are lots of quizzes, sometimes hard to keep track of when there are quizzes. His quizzes are online on his own website but it is a hassle because the quizzes sometimes don\'t grade correctly or his site is down, etc. Overall, it is an okay class, but he finishes the quarter with a great last lecture, so you won\'t remember the class as boring or such.

I feel like I\'m the only one who hated Perello. He\'s kind of a funny guy in a total douche bag way, but his entire class is a joke. People were cheating right and left and the people that try get screwed over. I had him when he was doing online quizzes. Okay the ENTIRE class is based on a curve and a 65% is an A. People had like 80%! Like what the EFF? HELLO?! Is that not a red flag that some people have an unfair advantage? Aka either the answers from last quarter or a parent that is a lawyer who tells them all the answers? Then he decides that if someone didn\'t do a quiz he is just going to drop it because he is too lazy to go back through the emails he didn\'t read to see who had a computer issue. Because that\'s not going to completely ruin the curve. People that only took 2/3 of the quizzes ending up getting a better grade than I did. What did I learn from this class? Don\'t go when you don\'t have to and cheat whenever you can because its not worth trying, you\'ll just end up getting completely screwed over.

Apparently Dr. Perello is a great teacher for 207, but for all those who need to take him for 307, good luck. He barely explains the material, gives you the bare minimums that you need to know, then asks impossible questions on the midterms. They ask for little details, or how to fix problems that there is no way we coudl solve with the knowledge he has given us. The material is poorly organized, and his lectures skim through information that is vital to what he is presenting. He wrote his notes as the quarter progressed. Perello's a bad ass. Grading is a little foggy, but do your shit and you'll have little trouble, unless you're a complete idiot. You have to be a moron to not get at least a B in his class. A's take some effort though. Cheers

This is a great easy class. He uses powerpoint the whole quarter to lecture and explains things on the board as necessary. He knows that people are in the class to learn more about business law since it is an elective. The midterms (3 of them) are all open note, book and anything else you need. They are questions, senarios you have to anwser and you can usually do pretty well on them if you follow his notes well. There is no homework, no inclass exercises, just sit back and listen to him explain law in his way and do a few easy midterms. You do not need to buy a book, and for the most part can do fine on the tests without one, however you can buy one if you want it for reference.

I had Perello for 207 and 308 and loved him for both. He got really behind on grading in 308 so he cancelled a ton of quizes until he caught up, but that was definately to our advantage. There was hardly any work for the class. We had one assignment that took an hour and a takehome final. We were allowed to work with other people on the takehome final, so the class just passed around an email list so you could email other students with questions. I just went in and asked him a few questions and got an A. The in class final is optional and it replaces all of your quiz grades if you take it, and it can only improve your grade. This is a really easy class with a light workload. Also, he is really funny so you don't mind going.

Cris is rad because he knows that law is filled with pricks and makes you aware that the only way to get around or through them is to know your law better than them. In this respect he is very motavating. He also tells entertaining and relevant stories and sometimes gossips about people in power in this town. He tests on a regular basis and the tests expect a good understanding of how to manipulate the material learned as well as the actual material we learned. After the first law class I took from him and got a B in I felt that I understood the law, how it affects me and what i can do about it. I am in the second law class with him and the test are slightly harder but the knowledge is still usefull and well presented. He cusses in class, too. :)

The grading on this course came from a variety of sources. Most of the points came from "daily" quizzes. They weren't daily, but were difficult because of the hypotheticals. We went to the county recorders office and did an assignment, which was interesting. We also had a written assignment on securities. The final was take home. The material in the class interested me. The class was frequently canceled, but I still learned enough. This was his first time doing the course in a while so it needed some reworking.

Perello is absolutely the best teacher I have had at Cal Poly, not just the BUS department. The guy knows his stuff and makes lectures fun. Some people think he can be a jerk but if it doesnt bother you TAKE HIM. I have had him for BUS 207, BUS 308, BUS 404....I took 308 just for fun because Perello was teaching it. TAKE HIM if you are lucky enough to get a chance to.

Prof. Perello has a lot of good knowledge, and presents his lectures that in a way that is both entertaining and informative. As long as you can laugh at or at least tolerate the occasional vulgar expletives, you will really enjoy his lectures! The workload in this class was insanely minimal, perhaps because it was the summer and he didn't want to be there anymore then the rest of us. Attendance was required for about 1/3 of the classes. Go to his office hours with questions, and you will probably receive an A. There was no exam, just one project that was completed throughout the quarter in parts. If you are a Business major who needs this class, plan your schedule around the Perello's 404.

i took this class over summer so i wouldnt expect similar results during a normal 10 weeker. perello was working on his book and getting drunk over the summer and didnt really want to hold class. it was scheduled for tuesday thursday, but he almost always cancelled thursday and class all together after the 6th week. the class was based around an experimental research/argumentative paper. if youve ever had perello for 207 then you know he has very high standards of what you need to know, and in this class, his standards for how you analyze the information you discover are high as well. he didnt hold even half of the quarters sessions, but is always readily available and overall i think has a lot of realistic and usefull info to share. he is also very funny and crass, which i personally enjoy quite a bit.

The entire class is a project that you can work in groups on. You represent a business and create a memo to the boss analyzing governmental actions and the effects they have on your company. The lectures are interesting, similar to his 207 class, and actually have a real life application. He is very helpful in office hours to help on project details. The project is submitted in chunks making it easier to manage. The worst part of the class was a media assignment that was very time consuming. Your final course grade depends primarily on your final project grade. There are no quizzes or tests however he did say that he will be altering the course layout a bit for future quarters.

Perello is a pretty cool guy that knows a lot of funny jokes and interesting stories. He is a very thorough and precise instructor, who truly has a desire for his students' to learn the material. The quizzes can be quite tricky and he is a hard grader! He doesn't want just an answer to a question, but also the why you chose to answer that way and use examples from lecture as evidence.
