Bill seems to think that everyone in this class is a computer geek, when in fact, most of the students are the opposite. He has very specific and arbitrary standards for grading that if you violate he will absolutely not listen to you. Its ridiculous. He is also not a very nice teacher, doesn't really listen well to students.

His tests are far too demanding for an entry level class that is supposed to be a general view of MS Office 2000 apps. He's not a bad teacher or a mean person, it's just very hard to get full points on the tests. He has standards that are difficult to meet. I would not recommend taking his class unless you have experience with Excel, Access (he is one of the few grad students that will actually make you use Access in 110), IE, FrontPage, and Powerpoint.

if he curved the overall grade to the highest grade in the class, instead of against 100%, i would have gotten a solid A!!! Arg it kills me to come so close! i worked so hard! curve! please! pleeeease!!!

Straight-forward class and a straight-forward teacher. Book sucks but he is knowledgable and is good at answering questions. Follow the study guide for the test and you'll be fine.

Bill is a nice enough guy, but a really horrible teacher. When help is needed he has a hard time answering questions. If you're not sure about a concept in the class, ask another student. Asking Bill will only confuse you more, and waste about a half hour of your time while he rambles on. He tests on concepts never covered and expects way too much from an entry level class. And, the book is awful. One of the worst classes I've had at Poly.

Whatever you are thinking this isn't a course you can fly by and get an A. I took it for an extra easy A and maybe learn something too. But this was one of my hardest classes, well it isn't hard, but to do well you have to put a lot of time into it. If you know everything about the programs its easier if you know nothing, good luck. You are expected to know atleast computer basics if not more. The lectures are straightforward and he is a very nice guy. Homework is fast and easy points, just tests kill ya. You actually have to read the manual word for word! No cheating here! Details count!! I was one of a few A's, and thats because i was one of few who weren't taking it pass/fail. And I reread the book for the final practically, and got the best grade in the class...and I missed almost 50 pts out of 300! So whatever that is worth. If you want to learn something , take this class. But dont think its going to be easy =).

A good instructor who is a nice guy to boot. He's a little tough to ask questions when you are confused about computers but he gives you some cool assignments and you really learn a lot about Windows through Bill. The tests are a little extreme in some ways- the hands on is cool but the written borders on silly. The study guides didn't help me too much either. Also- dont take this class if you are absent a lot- you have to keep up or you will fall behind- that is never fun with working with computers.

If you leave this lab when he lets you out before answering all of the lab questions, than you will fail the lab. He doesn't right the tests, so they tend to cover more then what he went over in class. But if you see him in his office hours to explain the rest of the lab to you, he is very generous and will spend over an hour making sure you understand. He is a very nice guy, and as long as you have him clarify what you don't understand, you will get an A in his lab even though about 30% of his students fail. They all fail because they leave when he says you can leave and therefore only learn half of the material that's on the test. Bill Ozawa is a great lab teacher.

This guy is a really good lab teacher and he is willing to help if you have any problems. But overall stay until the end of lab because if you don't you will miss the answers to the questions at the end of the lab you have every week. And you will have 4 lab quizzes and the first and last are a walk in the park just pay attention to everything this little asian man says cause if you don't you are in bad luck. go to lab and pay attention.

What the guy/gal below said. Amen. I too took this class and have long since graduated from Poly, but I was cruising Poly Ratings for a kick and thought that I should pipe in and let you know how much of a joke this prof is.
