one word: UNORGANIZED. All quarter papers were mixed up and tests were not returned until basically the end of the term. I'm afraid I didn't learn anything about mass media in his course. I understand that he is new to Poly, but he should get his act together. I ended up with a B+ when I was supposed to get an A. I went to his office hours and he seemed to be a mess and didn't have his records right. Beware of your grade in the class, because it could suddenly change due to the prof losing his record box and randomly guessing your grade. Also, he loves class participation so speak up!

Hucklebridge is a horrible, horrible professor. Mass Media was a complete waste of money. There was ONE class that he actually prepared a lecture for... *surprise* the PR lecture, his way of trying to recruit people for his other classes. Most of the class consisted of group presentations, and it's still beyond me what we did for the first half of the course! Believe me, this is an easy A, but frustrating to be stuck in a class like this one.

This is the worse professor I have ever had in my three years. There is absolutly no point in this class, he never lectures, you just watch boreing videos and do a lot of group work, most of which doesn't have anything to do with mass media. He is very unorganized and it is a complete waist of time. I have know idea what this class is even supposed to be about.

I was actually looking forward to taking Mass Media, however, by the second week of class I realized that it was pretty much a huge waste of my time. First off, we had to endure numerous boring lectures (most of which had NO point) Secondly, we had about 3 midterms straight from the book that he took right from the publishers. The tests consist of extremely random facts from the text. Although I consistently scored C's and D's on the test and final, I still got an A in the class. Granted, you do an intense group project where (apparently) your grade is about 95% of your final grade. I think the other 5% comes from smiling alot and saying hi to him outside of class....Bottom line- he's an easy professor, a terrible teacher, but you'll never know where you stand in the class until he posts grades at the end.

If you want an EASY A take Hucklebridge. I had him for both 218 and 312 at the same time and I earned A's in both classes. Make a few appearances in his office hours and say hi to him when you see him on campus - he likes this. Take any chance to do extra credit. The most important thing is group presentations, so be really thourough on those and you should do fine. His lectures do suck, but give him a break - he is easy!!!

You will not learn anything useful in this course. Just go to class and pretend to listen. This man lives out of his car.

Unless you are already a PR professional, don't take this Intro to PR Class. My group did a good job on the group project (which is half of your grade) and he gave us a C. When I pointed out that we did the things he said we didn't do, he responded with, "I thought you could have done better." Go figure. Anyway, unless you know exactly how to put on a large scale event perfectly professionally, you could be hurting.

Honestly, the man had no clue what class he was teaching or how to teach it. The last day of class he handed me a grade going into the final and it wasn't my name--he didn't even know who I was. HE IS ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS AS A PROFESSOR AND A PROFESSIONAL! Who hired him?

Professor Huckelbridge is the worst teacher I have had at Cal Poly. He screwed my group and our project in Journ 312 and I am glad that I never have to take a class from him again. The Recreation Dept is trying to get rid of this class and take it out of our cirriculum and I hope they are able to for everyone else's sake. You learn absolutely nothing in this class

He's terrible. How he got a job as a professor is beyond me. The man taught us nothing that I couldn't learn on my own. This is an advanced class and he's an ex-professional. He could have at least taken his real life experiences from the PR world and just talked. Basically he gives the class busy work, calls in a few guest speakers and then the quarter is over. His class is out of "2000" points, it may as well be, and then you get an A. It's easy, he's terrible, and all the class does is complain about him. It's too bad he's unavoidable for 312, 342, 412 and 413. Students would get a lot more out of someone else. I didn't learn anything in his course.

Mr. Hucklebridge was an excellent professor who really know's PR. He may not always be the most organized but, he really cares about his students and encourages them to succeed. The only advice I can give is to go to class and you will do well. His final is mostly questions about presentations given in the class.

Hucklebridge is one of the only journalism professors that ever cared to learn my name. Although he tends to be a tad disorganized, he really helped me in deciding what I want to do and how I should go about doing it. He is very knowledgeable about public relations and has tons of experience. For those who say he doesn't understand PR, I think that may because the subject is hard to teach in a classroom--it's more of a hands-on interactive thing, rather than a stupid lecture!

Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.
