He is clear, tells you what you need to know, but sometimes he makes things sound harder than it realy is.

Weggel is a very demanding professor, but very rude to his students, bordering on jerk. I learned alot, but my grade didn't reflect it because of the final. Watch out for a very hard final.

Dave really knows his stuff. His lectures are clear, orderly, and he teaches exactly what you need to know. His midterms and finals are tough, but fair. I think he's one of the best teachers I have had here at Cal Ploy.

Dr. Weggel is one of those teacher's that is soo smart, that it can almost be intimidating to ask him a question! But i think that he is a good professor. He was able to clarify students questions. He focuses more on concepts and definitions than actual numbers. Our first midterm was hard, and the final was actually very fair. The final wasn't as hard as the midterm! Overall, Weggel is a good teacher. I would highly recommend going to his office hours if you are confused about something.

Concerning the percieved rudeness Dr. Dave displays, I think it is just his teaching style, not intentional rudeness. He seems nice enough and has a sense of humor out of class. I also believe he is the best instructor I have had in my college career (about 130 units completed). He is FIRM but fair which in my opinion is getting your monies worth and more. If you don't do well in class it is probably a personal problem (not enough study time etc.)because he delivers the material in a very clear manner and knows it very well. If by chance he is purposely rude and its' not just a teaching style (as I think) I hope he works on it (deflate the ego a bit eh). You know what they say........"mean people suck!" I highly suggest him for any class, beside the point. Ignore it if it bothers you, you'll learn alot.

He is a very smart professor, he knows the material, but somewhere in between has trouble explaining things to students. Spends way too much time deriving equations and very little time in actual problems or concerns. He has a very good sense of humor outside of class, but leaves that nice guy out when it comes to be a profesor. Overall I think he is a good proffesor, but there is always room for improvement.

The class is pretty tough, but Weggel is nothing if not prepared. His notes packet that he hands out at the beginning of each lecture spell out what he goes over in class, and he's got them planned down to the minute. most teachers will just bring a group of notes, and finish what they can in one day. Not Dave. He's precise... almost methodical but that's what the material deserves. He obviously knows what he's talking about, and when he doesn't he admits it. That's great, but sometimes out of class he seems unapproachable. He can sense when students haven't done their homework, or whether or not they learned their material from the prerequisites. His tests aren't too terribly tough, but very fair. There's no surprises. He even gave us a week to prepare for a "pop" quiz. Doing the homework the night it's assigned and attempting to get help from him in the very next office hour should help a lot. Don't be discouraged by his initial gruffness. He's not going to give free passes, but will reward hard work.
