I have never met a more out of touch pompous wind bag. He feels that the classroom is a stage for his long blown personal opinions and well below average jokes. His teaching method is dominated by self opinion and self ego. Everyone pray to the college gods for a long overdue retirement.

EXREMELY DEMANDING! Be perpared to study for this course like it is a 4 or 5 unit class if you want an A. This course should be taught over two quarters given the quanity of material that Matt expects his students to read and know. Matt will teach you anything and everything you every wanted to know about anything even remotely related to residental construction. The tests are long and tideous (very detailed). Matt is an easy going, good-natured person who is quite approachable. He is very much set in his opinions and ways, so it is easy to take him the wrong way.

It was refreshing to take a class taught by this "bag of wind" as some have said. He does use the class as a platform to talk about ANYTHING that comes into his mind, but it is usually interesting stuff. Definitely a breath of fresh air compaired to the vast majority of left wing socialist professors at this school. Just as an example he gave an entire hour hour lecture on how to pick a spouse. Just like your grandpa would give. He knows his stuff, hands down. This class was part of the real property development minor, so it is an elective class which is to your advantage. He feel that if your taking this class you want to be, and therefore he lets a lot of stuff slide. Basically if you show up and attempt to do the work and tests, you will get a C-. Tests are a combination of multiple choice and essay, where the multiple choice is taken from questions students write. Needless to say, these tests are very difficult, but extremely curved. Hardest part of the tests is the fact that it is 90% information from the book that you do not go over in class. If you don't read, or understand what you are reading your in trouble. Still, he is the most approachable guy around and he gives you his home phone number and says you can call virtually any time, for anything.
