This teacher might be a great Business teacher but so much as doing and Ag class she doesn't know shit. If you are a student that likes Ag do not take this teacher. Find an alternative. The title of this class is Sales, Leadership in Ag. Well you cover leadership for 10 weeks and do one sales presentation that she doesn't explain how to do. She has the go and do it motto. If you want to be taught this isn't your class.

This class is really awesome. You get to actually meet and talk to other students as well as learn skills that will help in the work place as well as in every other aspect of your life. I would really recomend taking AGB 202 with Marcy, I really got a lot out of it. She really cares about her students and wants you to learn. There is one catch though, you cant miss class or leave at break, but hey, most of the time class goes by so quick because she switches it up, so enjoy.

I love her!!! She is the best instructor I have ever had. She really makes you re-evaluate yourself and the way you interact with people. The class was based on a group work. She placed you in random groups of 4 to 5 people. I never walked away from a classes with life long lessons. If you have to take the class. Definetly take Villa!!!!!

Marcy Villa was the best teacher I have had at Cal Poly. She made the class very enjoyable by catering it to our interests. It was focused on how we communicate, how we are motivated and a lot of it was all about us and understanding ourselves better. She is such a sweet person with a really good way of making it feel like she really cares about each individual student. She was never unfair about grading, and even though there are a lot of homework assignments they are pretty fun and you look forward to taking them..hard to believe huh? It's true though because you are taking tests to see what kind of listener you are, or how you make decisions etc. I would recommend this teacher more than any other teacher!

Mrs. Villa has a lot to teach you, so try and take some of her biggest points with you because they can and will prove valuable when you approach the job market. The homework and essays are tedious, but you do learn more about yourself, which is more than what can be said for other AGB courses. She is extremely approachable, but follow her instructions precisely, or a few mistakes could destroy your grade. A misconception of this class is that it is an easy A, but if you dont stay up to date on assignments and group work, things get tough. Keep your group motivated and you will go far in Mrs. Villa's class.

Villa is the best agb teacher that I have had besided frawley. She presents the information very clearly and also takes extra time to make sure that everyone understands. Her classes are very fun, she takes you on a field trip and also does a lot of fun exercises. Her tests are very easy and straight forward plus there are group tests. Also all the homework is done in groups. Please TAKE this class!!! You will seriously love it.

A GREAT CLASS!!! It was a lot of fun and you will take so much out of this class. You are taught a lot more than being just a leader, she teachs you to recognize what kinds of personality people have and it is a lot of fun. You are assigned random groups and you meet about once a week. A MUST TAKE CLASS!! Tests are off powerpoints and as long as you attend EVERY class you will not have a problem. Good luck

Alright, so this 200 level class is the most time consuming 200 level class I had ever taken in my life. So don't think this class will be a easy one. I spent a lot of time outside of class for group meetings. The material itself is not bad, but I guess you can say your mind goes through a lot of thinking. And you have to go class, it sucks missing class. The class period goes through the whole hour. Take this class only if you have the time and hope that you don't get a sorry group. I got luck with my awesome group.

to the people who said they learned something in villas 202 class...you smoke way too much pot. her class was by far the biggest waist of time and money in my four years spent at cal poly. yes it was really easy, but i would much rather have to work a little bit harder and learn something than listen to the common sense bs that marcy "teaches". the one thing i liked was that at the end of the quarter the class discussed their likes and dislikes of the class...i really enjoyed letting her know what a waist of time her class was. while it may seem like a good idea at the time, do not shoot yourself in the head...she's not worth it. (nice lady though)

If you want an easy class that is the equivalent of sitting in a circle and talking about feelings and singing Cumbya (sp?) this class is for you. It is not a hard class, and she really tries; but, the material is so repetitive. YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING ABOUT BUSSINESS OR AGRICULTURE. Instead you get to learn about your assigned group's members' personalities and communication styles. Its a joke. Its easy though

Marci is a great teacher. I was intimidated by the class on the first day but really grew to love this class. She is very clear for what to know for the midterms and really shows you how to apply what we learn in class. There is a good amount of busy work and the work can seem repetitive. You're put in groups at the beginning of the quarter as teams. I didn't like my team, but ended up learning a lot from the experience. I really recommend taking Marci for this subject to become a better leader.

I thought Marcy was a very good teacher, and she is very passionate about her students and teaching. She's really nice and is very understanding. She wants to see everyone succeed, and is always willing to help you out. However, if you are wanting to learn about Ag Business, then this isn't for you. It's a class for learning about different personality and communication types, which obviously does help in the business world, but it can be frustrating to some. It's a pretty laid back, easy class. However, the tests were surprisingly difficult, so make sure you go over every detail in notes/powerpoints/handouts. I wouldn't buy the books, we only used them once. Make sure you study for the tests, and you'll get an A no doubt. Also, have fun with your group or else it'll feel like a complete waste of time. I recommend the class, especially if you want a boost in your GPA, as long as you pay attention in the notes and read the material.

She was a straightforward teacher, but she does not help the students out when you need help. Her way of teaching was not memorable, and her tests were pretty hard. I recommend Vix for this class, hands down.

Villa is a good teacher no doubt and makes her class seem very easy. The tests are in reality only as hard as you want to make them since you can simply go on blackboard and find all the answers on her in-class slide shows, and you can always ask her the meeting before about anything you don\'t know or don\'t remember. As far as being fare though she is not I don\'t understand how I didn\'t get an A because my grade was a 89% prior to the final which is an easy hand in assignment and worth significant points, until I talked to some other people who said she typically screws you over on the final and dosn\'t count it or any of the other last week assignments toward your grade. Moral of the story have an A before the final or expect the grade you have.

All she gives a shit about is diversity: homos, racism, other shit. Its not an agbusiness class she just tries to force her liberal views on you.she says 15% of people are born gay and you cant argue with her

I looked forward to going to her classes. She keeps it interesting and the 2 hour class flies by each period. She gives a lot of work but if you keep on top of it and study the power points its easy to get an A. Every aspect of business deals with marketing and selling yourself and she teaches you how to do those things successfully. She is so awesome and genuinely cares about students. She cant get through to everyone (hence the dumbass below me with a closed mind) and the correct percentage was 11% are homosexuals. Thats why they got a B and i got an A.

Marcy's class had a boat load of busy work. For the most part all of it is unessasary and a total waste of your time. This class has nothing to do with agriculture. She tries to make you into a better person by changing your communication style and making you something that you are not. Just pretend and it will make her happy. You get put in groups in which you are forced to meet every week which again is a waste of time and effort. The test are difficult and i would suggest studying for them with your group. She is really nice and is very open minded.

She really wants to teach people something and cares. BUT, the homework load in this class is out of control. You will be assigned a group of six and will have to meet at least once a week. You have to write a 15 page paper, as a group and do sales presentation. Half of one lecture was spent on sales. The rest is spent on feelings, and "how can we all be friends" bullshit. This class is a massive waste of time for anybody hoping to learn anything. The only ag. related thing is your sales presentation topic -- that she doesnt explain. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Marcy is a really nice lady, that cares about her students. But I have to be honest. She is not a very good teacher. Lectures rarely move beyond common sense knowledge, and I just got the sense her command of the material was not very strong. This class was so uniteresting because studying for tests seems to revolve around rote memorization of idiosyncratic labels for what is really common knowledge. Alot of the exercises and workgroup assignments were a waste of time. The class was one of the easiest I've ever taken though. Easy A!! Take something else if you can. One more thing. And this is important. Fine chicks abound in Psych!! What a change of pace from CAED

She is a very good teacher. She teaches clearly and grades fairly. There are a lot of group works during the class period, but you will find out a lot of fun from that. We had 2 mid terms and we didnt have final (thats great). We also had some reaction papers to write, but those were so easy to get a good grade. I highly recommend her to you guys since you can learn a lot of things.

I found that this class was very interesting. There was one large group project at the end. Most of the class was group work. The tests were multiple choice and short answer, and if you studied the review sheet, you could do very well on the exams. Overall, I enjoyed the class and Dr. Villa's teaching style.

Marcy Villa is not a college professor but rather a hired lecturer who knows very little about how to relate with her college-age classes. Throughout the quarter I found her class to be boring and tedious and her teaching style lacking confidence, charisma, and personality. For someone who is supposed to be an expert in inter-personal relations you would expect a cetain level of competence and originality, yet to my dismay I found neither. Ms. Villa produced no original thoughts and exhibited no creativity in her teaching. Instead, she followed the guidelines of the texts author ( a fellow Cal Poly prof )without hesitation and revered the author with god-like status. Avoid this one at all costs.

This class was a complete joke!! You spend 2 and 1/2 hours doing childish activities and games, but fail to learn anything about OB! The group work is used a crutch to her lack of ability to teach the students, so you are occupied with 3rd grade busy work. Villa is not a professor, but a lecturer. She has no concept of teaching and relies heavily on poorly written power point slides. She will downgrade your opinions on essays. She continuously is unclear on grading and assignments. Too much weight is placed on a lame journal which has no learning value. Be sure to clarify her vague expectations on the final paper or she will kill your grade. She is a nice lady, but lacks the fundamental abilities to be a professor. I am proud to say I learned absolutely nothing in this class that can be applied to my business career. Get this class with Glasgow, or pray to the stars Frayne teaches it sometime again soon. Villa is a joke and a complete waste of time.

This class can be really good if you wind up with a good group. Otherwise it gets really tedious. There are a lot of little exercises, but if your group actually does them, you can get a lot out it. Tests aren't too bad if you go over the review sheet and the final group project goes fairly smoothly if you start early. This is a class where you really will get out of it what you put in. Expect to spend some time on it, but you'll be able to make the rest of your group work run more smoothly (and we know the college of business loves group work).

She is a really good teacher. She will never let you out of class early, but the group work is fun. Only two midterms with you group and on your own. These tests are pretty easy, but you need to pay attention to the slides. Group work is everything in this class. I would recommend her.

Wonderful woman and great professor. She has a lot of real life experience working in this area. It takes a while to warm up to her at first, but she is the most caring, sincere teacher you could ask for. The whole class is about group work and forces you to explore your abilities to think critically as well as build interpersonal relationships through group work. You should learn a lot of real life practical application type lessons from this class. This class is not that hard, put the effort in and you get a good grade. I found the material interesting so it was pretty effortless. No you won't get out early, but you'll learn a lot from this woman.

Professor Villa is a great professor, and she is very passionate about this subject. She is a very nice lady and a very fair grader as long as she knows you put effort into the class. There is a lot of busy work that sometimes seems like 3rd grade work, but it beats studying for Finance. She gives two midterms that have MC questions, T/F, and short answers. Just know everything on her study guide and read her powerpoints. She grades really easy on the short answers, so just write what you know and you'll be surprised at how much credit you receive. After you take your own exam, you take the same exact test with your group that counts for 50 points on top of your 100 point individual exam. That really boosts your exam grade. You'll meet with your group once a week or so, and there is one big group paper due at the end of the quarter. Just participate and be open-minded to the busy-work to enjoy the class.

This class was one of those where you wonder why you are spending money to be here. If you like to have five to ten handouts given to you every day of class, this is for you. The majority of the classtime was spent analyzing the other members of your group and giving them feedback on their strengths and weaknesses. The point of the class is to give you a better understanding of people and how they behave, but you dont learn anything in this class you wont learn interacting with people on a daily basis. The class has way too much background information and no real substance to it. Villa's grading is not heavily based on tests, mostly your journal entries and final group paper, which means that its subjective. Participate in her class and regurgitate what she says and she will love you likely will grade your papers highly. If you give the impression the class is a waste of time, which it is, she will not grade your papers highly.

Very nice lady and an even better professor. Her lectures are short and are supplemented with slides. She posts the slides on her website. The class is made up of a ton of group activities and individual essays. There are two midterms which are taken individually and then in a group. No final. There is a 20 page final team paper due the last day of class. Overall this class is very time consuming and sometimes frustrating but Villa makes it interesting and pretty painless. I recommend Villa for this class and encourage you to be yourself with your group. If everyone conforms to the group norms you will have nothing to write about in your essays.
