Rogers is not that great at conveying and teaching the important ideas in his classes. I learned everything either from the book or from the supplemental instruction class that was offered, I highly reccomend it (especially when you have Rogers as the instructor of the Stat class) Avoid Rogers if you can. Prof. Wheeler is MUCH better.

I could say some things here, but they wouldn't get put up anyways. When people ask questions on problems in class from the homework, he says to them "I don't see what your problem is, I can see how to do it clearly." And he is not joking when he says this, he is serious. His humor is at most that of a 12-14 yr old. He laughs at some of the dumbest things. More fun to laugh at than laugh with. Tries to use email and the internet, but takes forever and sometimes never does what he says is going to. He once had a week to email us our assingment, but waited until the day before to write it, and we didn't get it till the night before at like 9 pm. He had a week to write up and email our review for the final, but never wrote one, and waited till the last day to tell us that he found out that he did not have time to write one. My opinion on this guy is to never take him if you can.

I'm not writing to totally work this guy but really doesnt know what the heck he is teaching or what the heck is going on period! He must have smoked a little too much you know what in college. I stuggled to get myself to go to class everyday just to sit there stoopified and slaping myself in the face just to keep from mania induced bordom. Save yourself by gettin another real teacher. Mr. Rojers neighborhood is not for you.

Dr. Rogers not only makes absolutely NO sense, but he also is lazy. People in my class would have the same test answers and different grades. People that did poorly compared to people that got A's made no sense. He took forever to grade and return papers. I can honestly say I left his class knowing absolutely nothing. If you are a business major, I garuntee you will need Stat 252 knowledge for later class...Dr. Rogers is of no help for that. So, BUSINESS MAJORS - BEWARE!

This guy...well he has some problems. Often times he would lose track of what he was doing or say something that was incorrect. He didn't seem to really check up on the details of the class he was teaching. His grading was fair, but he hit us with a final that was entirely unlike our other tests. I had an A on the first midterm, B on the second and I only got a D on the final. I had to go in and talk to him about my overall grade because he miscalculated it, and when I saw the final scores, I'd say about 3/4 of the class was C or worse. Turns out I was right...a statistics teacher who couldn't even keep his grades straight.....

I got an A out of shear luck. It reflects nothing more than my Irish heritage and I can say without a doubt that I probably know less now because of the class. He is actually a nice guy, but shouldn't be teaching. Simple as that.

HE IS THE WORST PROF. AT CAL POLY!!!!!! AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS! Yes, I did fail this class, but the course material is really not that bad, I just stop showing up!! About the third or fourth week of the quarter I just stopped coming to class altogether. He presentation was unprepared and useless. His babbling put you to sleep, and you know the prof. has problems when he gets stumped and a student walks to the overhead to explain how to do the problem. There is just not enough room here to explain how bad he was!!!!

Alright, I can't lie. The guy isn't that great at conveying information. But to be fair he is the nicest guy ever. He seriously cares about how you do in the class, and how your team does on his "marketing game." He recognizes your successes and praises them accordingly. His quizzes suck, but they don't count for much anyway. I never ever ever once opened my book, which happened to be the wrong edition anyway, and got B's on both the midterms. But man is the guy on top of his stuff. If you have a question or concern and email him, I kid you not he gets back to you within FIVE minutes. Easy class, can breeze through it no problem. But if you are a marketing major and this class is important to you, he may not be the guy for you. I dont know how he ended up with such terrible ratings though because he really isn't bad. Take Rogers if you want marketing to take up none of your time, and get a B with zero to little effort.

Rogers is the perfect teacher to take it you don't care about learning that much about Marketing. He lets you out of class 40 minutes early every day and skims over all the material and talks about how boring it is. He didn't seem like he cared about being there at all, but I thought he was great. He graded very lax and his tests were based on his study guides so you don't even have to read the book. I didn't get very much out of the class, but I don't care. I would much rather have a teacher that is kick back and you don't have to stress about not passing the class.

Some of you people are complete dumbasses. Rogers doesn't even teach stats...that's some other guy. Do you even bother to look and see who you're evaluating before you go on here and assassinate someone's character? Absolutely pathetic. I had Rogers for 346 and this was a fun class and, despite what people have written, he is a solid professor and very knowledgable about Marketing. He's laid back and doesn't BS you. I recommend taking him.

Professor Rogers is a nice guy. He conducts his lectures right off the powerpointe slides posted on blackboard. You'll play the marketing game... don't worry about what place your team comes in, it doesn't matter at all. You might find yourself falling asleep at times...but Rogers is cool and it's an easy class.

Rogers Rocks. His Class is way easy and if you try at all you will do well. His test are fair and he cancels class sometimes. 346 is easy stuff so why make it hard? Common sense. Take Rogers!

Dr. Rogers could really care less about teaching the students and his apathy was really apparent. There was a total lack of motivation from his standpoint. He put off a lot of work until the last week of the quarter when he assigned a huge analysis report to be completed during dead week and finals. It wasn't fair and it was all due to the lack of his organizational skills. Tests were very subjective and were essay in nature. The book was pointless. If you want to learn, don't take Dr. Rogers. And it's definitely not an easy grade.

Honestly, not to be mean, but his lectures for this class was a bit dry and boring. He pretty much gets straight to the point, however he is not too motivated and sometimes he comes to class unprepared for the lecture. The work load is decent, mainly comprising of quizzes and tests. The questions on his tests can sometimes be confusing, which can lead to a misinterpretation of what he is really asking. However, the quizzes, which are usually done using SPSS, are pretty easy. He even helps you out if you're really stuck on how to do it. Overall, Dr. Rogers was not one of the best teachers I've had at Poly, but then again he's not one of the worst. If I could rate him as an instructor from 1-10, I would give him a 6.

John Rogers is a HORRIBLE professor. How people like this get hired is beyond my understanding. Gives this school and the college of business a bad reputation. The fact that he even holds the title of "professor" is an outrage. Incompetent, poorly qualified, and extremely lame professor. Do yourself a favor and take someone else's class if at all possible.
