Rod Hoadley is an interesting character. He tried to explain the coursework the best he could...and he knows it inside out. The problem is that he shows a cold shoulder to a lot of students who are really seeking his help. But he'll go out of his way to make sure that YOU know that HE knows all the material. While he's spending valuable time all for one student, there will be about seven others who really need his help. His grading is very harsh...I tried my hardest, studied the material thoroughly, but he's a partial grader. What could I do? So, if you want to get a good grade in his class, get ready to suck up. Be that lucky student that ., and favor.

Dr. Robison is the best professor/educator that I have ever had. He has an ability to make extremely difficult material easy to understand. I actually enjoyed going to his class. I was dreading the class when I signed up for it, and towards the end of the quarter I was looking forward to his class. I highly recommend taking Jack for a class if you are an accounting major. You could not ask for a better instructor.

What a great teacher! One of the best I have had at Cal Poly. The tests are clear and everything in them has been covered in class. Dr. Robison also has review sessions before each midterm, so there are plenty of chances to ask questions. If you put in the effort, it is not difficult to do well in this class.

I took this class as a sophomore in a class of juniors, seniors and 5th years. I was intimidated, let me tell you. But I survived. Dr. Robison is the best (so far in my book) the accounting department has to offer. He teaches well. He is there for you if you need help. He sets up review sessions for us in his spare time because he wants us to do well on his tests. Take this class and take Dr. Robison. You will enjoy the class!

By far one of the best teachers at Cal Poly. Tests are just right in difficulty, everything this teacher says is valuable, and I recommend all students take this class, since we all pay taxes. You will save money by not having to hire a tax specialist for your own taxes, but since I want to go into tax, I probably shouldn't say that. Don't be scared to take this class, I thought it was an easy A.

Initially I had doubts because the topic was foreign and he spoke relatively fast. But by the second week, Dr Robison proved to be an exceelent teacher. He knows his materials and goes all out to answer questions. He's funny and makes materials more fun to learn. He also sets up review sessions before midterms and finals to help students with questions. Most importantly, he included previous midterms in the 2nd Edition materials, which are of great help! He actually makes an otherwise boring subject very appealing. Best professor I have had so far in Cal Poly!

He's by far the best teacher at poly. The subject matter is extremely difficult and can be hard to learn, but once you learn it you are set. The 1st midterm is by far the easiest but you still have to study for it. If you do well on the first test and turn in all your h/w and do ok on the 3 quizzes (he drops your lowest quiz) you should do alright. The 2nd test was a lot harder but again if you put in the time it shouldn't be a problem. The final is a piece of cake and if you really learned the stuff from the first two tests you should be fine, because the material after the 2nd midterm is cake. WARNING....the group projects especially the big one are a big part of your grade. I wish we had done better on them. They can make a huge difference in your grade in the class. HINT....ask all your friends for there old hand out materials so you can practice for the tests. He gives you a copy of two old tests, but the more you have the better off you are. Overall a great guy who is willing to do anything for his students including holding study sessions at 9pm the day before the final. I'm taking him for 414 and 416 next quarter and can't wait!

This is by far the hardest class that you can take as an accounting major. It's VERY difficult material to understand but Dr. Robison does a great job teaching it. It's a very practical subject matter that you will use in your life and we have a few kids in our class right now that are just auditing the class for fun. I highly recommend this man for any class (I've taken every class that he teaches including vita), and know that you will probably learn more in 414 than any other class at poly.

Dr. Robison is a great teacher. He is a very friendly person as well. I was having personal difficulties that were affecting my learning and brought my grade down. I went in to his office and talked to him about it. He was very encouraging and understanding. He gave me the option to drop the class or continue on while joining a study group and talking to him during his office hours. I went to all of his pre-exam study sessions and asked a lot of questions, and I was able to get a C eventhough I had a difficulty grasping the material. He is a very understanding guy... if you need anything, go talk to him!
