He's very knowledgeable and friendly if you have questions for him. Otherwise it's a chill class that asks for very little work. Ours was 3 projects + powerpoint presentations and 2 tests we didn't have to study for. What more can you ask for

Dr. P is energetic, scattered, and pretty entertaining. I was intimidated and kind of scared of him for the first few weeks of the quarter, but after I realized he made everyone feel like an idiot, and not just me, things smoothed out. His tests and quizzes are extremely fair, he tells you exactly what will be on them, and allows a 3x5 notecard for the quizzes or a piece of paper for the exams. The book is excellent for the first few weeks, but after that Dr. P's formulas are much easier to use than the book's

Professor Pouraghabagher teaching method is very choppy and unorganized. The man is brilliant and passionate about the subject but can be confusing at times, and felt like he was improvising the quarter as the weeks went by. He can go through a lot of information in one lecture so its best not to miss any lectures. The best thing to do is to read the book to clarify any material he goes over because his lecture notes can be very unorganized. He is a fair teacher and grader and scales his exams to the classes performance on midterms and quizzes. His formula's are very helpful and can help solve problems more efficiently.

Dr. P. is the best professor I've had at Cal Poly!! No offense to the other IME professors but this is the first class I've gotten real skills on analyzing data and also communicating it! I was completely lost the first 4 weeks but GO TO OFFICE HOURS! For some reason hearing things a second time or idk if he is just better at explaining things in office hours was way better. This class is for sure challenging at times but mainly the first few weeks! But this class is so great if you actually want to understand statistics and data analysis. Seriously go to office hours and keep up with the notes. His class notes seem jumbled and all over the place during the first few weeks, but then things will start to make sense and you get used to his method of teaching. So glad I got him for this class I've already learned so much.

Dr. Pouraghabagher is very knowledgable in the material he is covering. His lectures are very thorough and understandable. His use of intimidation tactics are inappropriate in a learning environment that consists of adults. Even though a weeding out type of mentality is utilized in a lot of lower division courses, it is not acceptable in an upper division course such as this one. Beware of comments made in front of the class that may put you on the spot or ridicule you.

Dr. Pouraghabagher is an outstanding professor who is extremely knowledgeable in his subject matter. His classes can be tough and he expects you to put time into them, but they they are wonderful opportunities to gain knowledge not always taught in standard curriculum.

Too bad somebody as accomplished and regarded as he is professionally lives such a morally bankrupt life personally. I did enjoy the class though, very challenging.

I took 3 or 4 courses from Dr. Pouraghabagher many years ago. I learned enough in Dr Pouraghabagher's class to pass all of the APIC's CPIM exams with only a little extra studying. He taught the theory of MRP, and I still use the information today in industry. Dr. Pouraghabagher had a real passion for teaching. He was tough, but what I learned from him prepared me for the "real world". Thanks Dr Pouraghabagher!

All I can say is that I earned my grade in his class, and loved every minute of it. He pushed hard, but gave us everything we needed to get the stuff down. GREAT professor. On a side note, he actually understands most slang words in English, but will definitely act like he doesn't. He even uses this to "accidentally" say some HILARIOUS un-PC things.

He is an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor. I've learned much in his class. His first exam format was somewhat disorganized and confusing, and once in a while he gets a bit overexcited and flustered when he feels he is falling behind in the material. He gives regular quizes, which all students (including myself) struggle with, because they are on new material. My advise is to be prepared to be quized on material you just learned the previous day. Exams are pretty representative of material learned in lecture and lab; no real suprises.

I am an engineering grad student who has experienced many bad teachers in my day, and this guy ranks up there as one of the absolute worst! He does not teach the material. He goes over it randomly and in an un-comprehensive, un-thorough, and non-methodical manner. The average score of our first quiz was a pathetic 0.82 out of 10 in a class size of about 50 (a result which caused him to grin greatly, with a very large smile). This gives some evidence that we were not learning the material he was trying to present, and his response to the poor score is a reflection of his nature as a teacher. In addition, he announced the course textbook we would all be using on the first day of class, making all of us scramble to get the book, which was not for sale on campus. This was very inconsiderate. There was no reference to the course textbook in the Cal Poly Plan a Student Schedule (PASS), nor was there any record of it at El Corral Bookstore. Furthermore, he did not even reply to my email, which I sent several weeks prior to the start of class, in which I specifically asked him what textbook we would be using! Terrible! Fortunately, I was able to drop his IME-503 statistics class before the drop date to avoid the hell of having to suffer this guy's oppression all quarter. Anyone reading this would be wise to do the same, and avoid this guy at all costs!

Dr P. is very knowledgeable in manufacturing systems - MRP, MRP2, and JIT. I would recommend this class to anyone that is interested in pursuing a career in production/manufacturing. Yes, it is somewhat challenging, but that is the reason that we are here - to learn. I acquired more knowledge in this class than in any other class that I have taken at Cal Poly. The 2 tests are very straight forward, and the project (ERP in Excel) is a great learning experience. PS: don't try to pull any 'fast' moves on this guy --> he is a black belt++ in Shorin Ryu!
