Profesor Morrission explains material in a very clear and concise context. She would be a great profesor except for her unfair grading system. I do not know where she gets her letter grades from. The work load is intense. Heads up if you don't like dogs she will probably bring her's the first day of class.

I lucked out in getting this english teacher because I have heard horror stories about others. Every english class requires reading, but Cindy requires reading a book of short exerpts from magazines pertaining to sports. Discussions about the reading were entertaining...It wasn't just quizzes on the reading everyday. Not a lot of reading (no novels), but we read lots of short stories and wrote three essays. The grading for essays is pretty difficult at first, but you will find your writing really improves over time. I highly recommend this professor.

Cindy is a great teacher. We read "Great American Sports Writings" for one of our required readings. So be careful if you don't like sports. We did a lot of class activities and discussions. She is overall a great teacher. Her take home final is so incredibly fun, imformitive and easy. I would recommend her for ENGL 114 any day.

Cindy is a very good teacher. Before her class I couldn't write a good essay and now I can! She's very helpful. Always in her office to help when your not sure about something. There's quizes every week on reading and grammar which are really easy. And there are 3 inclass essays and 3 out of class essays. It may sound like a lot of work but it's really not bad. At the end of the quarter she lets you re-write a essay for a better grade. She's young and remembers how it is to be a college student. I would definitely recommend this teacher.

Cindy is an alright teacher who tries a little too hard to be hip with the students. Her class is somewhat unorganized and she is really strict about her essays. The essays are very boring and dry and there is not much room for creativity. And remember to write socially and academically acceptable essays or you will end up with a D+ in the class. P.S. Dont write about being a pedophile, that kind of stuff dont fly with her.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...

Cindy is a good english teacher. Though I have no others to compare her to. I think she presented class material effectively. She always tried to make class fun and activities enticing. There is s suffiecient amount of interpretation of the reading, which is a good piece. The reading was interesting, depending on what topics you find interesting. She grades papers fairly, and wants to help better your writing skills, and she will make herself available if you just ASK. Overall, I think she was a fun teacher to take an english class with, and I think her grading requirements were fair. There isn't too much work, just a few essays and reading. If you choose to have fun, you will!!

Prof. Morrison is a very nice lady and her class is fun and informative. But I did not feel that i took anything away from it. I felt as though i was relearning the same material i learned my Sophmore year. Also i feel as though many of things we do in class do not really revolve around writing or the development of our essays. I mean how much can you learn watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Charlie Brown Christmas. Not a whole lot. If you get this teacher be prepared to work entirely on your own becuase you are not going to learn anything new. Also if you are worried about HW there is very little reading and there are three out of class essays. Your whole grade is based primarily off 3 in class essays and 3 out of class essays. So you better be a good writer if you want a good grade.

Take this class with this professor. Cindy is extremely helpful and grades assignments fairly. It doesn't matter if she likes your style of writing or the topic you choose for you essays, as long as you show support. She won't try to change your style of writting and doesn't expect you to be an expert writer. The essays are always returned with positive feedback and hardly any negative remarks about you writting. Her class was fun with a lot of paricipation, so be sure to participate. It accounts for 10% of your grade. I think the reason I liked her class so much, was because it was far from ordinary, with lots of activities that one would not think to relate to english. But they indeed were tied together and Cindy's creativity in those definity inhanced the enjoyment in the classroom. Her class does not have a day to day rountine and everyday brings with it something new and exciting. I can honestly say that her teaching has had an impact on my writting and am really glad that i got her as a teacher. I would reccommend her to anyone who needs to take english 134.

Cindy made a 7am class fly by very quickly, but I seriously don't think that this class made me a better writer, even though i had to take it. She goes off of the seeing and writing book for weekly topics - the book is full of mainstream popular shit and that did nothing to help me write better. In my view a good writer should be able to put their new, creative views on a piece of paper so that it makes sense. All that book makes me think about is ideas i've heard of too much. Back to the teacher - she doesn't give too much homework and she gives you plenty of time to work on the essays, 3 are in class, but not worth as much as the others. The essay topics do come from the seeing and writing piece of crap, which sort of sucks. Besudes that stupid book, she's oretty fair and easy to talk to.

this class was a bit of work but a good class if you need to just take it to get it out of the way. We had "pop" quizzes mostly at the beginning of the quarter just on the reading which was sooo simple. We had a comedic book that we read literally less then three pages a night. The quizzes were only on the reading. Another book was also required but was also very easy reading. The most of the grade was in the essays. There were three inclass essays and three out of class essays. There was not final and the class ended a week before finals. The inclass essays are a little bit harder because you have to just think on your feet and write. The out of class essays are a easier because you can think about what you want to write and make spelling and gramatical corrections. I would definitely recommend Cindy to anyone who needs to get 134 out of the way

Professor Morrisson was an awesome teacher. She's young, so she's cool right off. She allows everyone in the class to meet anabling friendships to actually be made in class. Unlike most teachers who can't remember your name even on the day of the final, she knows you by name by the 2nd or 3rd class. Her assignments aren't too hard, and homework is writing one of three essays. She'a fun, and not hard, take her!!!

Cindy kind of lets you go in this class, she tells you very little information about what she wants with your first essay, but she will explain more as you go on. I feel as if i have become a better writer because of her class. You only read about 20 to 30 pages a night and have a quiz of the reading every morning but they are really easy. You will be graded on 3 in class essays and 3 out of class essays. At the end of the year she lets you re-write an essay. You don't have a final and she is really nice and fun. She always plays games and gets to know you. I recommend her.

morrisson was an awesome teacher. i hate english, but she made it fun. she is young which makes it easy to relate to her and what little time she does lecturing she makes it fun. the only bad thing i could say about her is she tends to be a hard grader, but if you do everything she asks for in your essays you will be fine. i would definitely recommend taking her.

Ms. Morrison is an awesome teacher. Unlike many teachers, she really tries to get to know everyone in her classes. I think she knew everyones name by the third class. She also wants everyone in the class to get to know each other so every once in a while she'd stop class and do something to meet new people. You have to go to class but the hour lecture goes by very fast. If you just read the assignments every night, you'll ace the 5 point quizzes that she gives every other day or so and you'll get the extra credit too which helps for those nights you don't read. Theres two little projects that you have to do, and our class voted to do them both on the same day. Me and my partner started the night before, spent an hour doing them and got an A. There are also 3 papers that she does grade pretty hard on, but she lets you rewrite one and your grades actually do get better as you go throughout the quarter. I got a C on my first paper and an A on the last. No tests or final, and 2 very easy in-class essays. I highly reccomend taking Ms. Morrison for english 134.

Cindy is a great professor. She's a little different, and asks for a lot of voice (personal touches to your papers) which is different from any other english class I've taken. She's fun and your grade is pretty much dependant on a 3 essays, reading quizzes, a mid-term (if not EVERYONE does terrible, such as Winter quarter; she just erased it) and a final. The reading quizzes are hard if you didn't read, but if you write a story in CPR form of why you didn't read, or just a fun story she'll give you a point or two...so be humerous, and add you're personl spin on things, and you'll do great. I recommend office hours for paper editing, it helps your grade a bunch!

Morrisson is a pretty good professor. First off she is fairly young so she is pretty down to earth and easy to talk to. The class itself is comprised of 3 out-of-class and 2 in-class essays, with some worth more than others and also a group presentation. Your last out of class essay is your final. She also likes to give quizzes, so do the required reading each weekend before the first day of class each week - they are not that hard. Also make sure you don't miss class or not show up on days when drafts are due, or she'll take it out on your grade. She is helpful with the essays, and as long as you follow the way she wants you to write you should be okay. I recommend her, she even gave us candy on the last day of class!

im not that fond of english but cindy was pretty cool. she is not an easy A which is good because english is pretty important. i think she grades the first essay the hardest so theres a heads up. she likes it when you cuss in your papers just as long as the voice and tone fit. i also think she likes it when you write about women impowerment stuff. overall shes cool, oh but if you are more than 7 minutes late she wont let you in class which was stupid cause she was late a couple times. but she is strict about that, and i dont think she gives plused and minuses, just flat grades, i think. over shes cool i would definatly take her.

I'd start off with Classical Rhetoric, but apparently Ms. Morrission doesn't think that would be influencial coming from me. She is an alright teacher. She frquently treats her class like a high school class by giving useless assignments, such as personal ads. She then grades the class like a college class by putting too much emphasis on the five essays. The essay prompts reminded me of high school as well. Remember, it doesn't matter what topic you choose, how well you describe it, how long your essays are, or how much time you put into it. What matters is how well you persuade the reader to agree with your idea by using material she presents. This is expository writing she wants from you.

She makes this class more demanding than it needs to be. There is a large reading assignment and quiz nearly everyday. There are also two in-class essays that were rather difficult. At times, her grading policy was a little confusing and inconsistent. Be very careful about the topic you choose for an essay becuase that alone may determine your grade. She is a very nice and caring lady, but I just didn't ever understand her grading policy.

Prof Morrisson is a good teacher. She is nice enough and her class is interesting. Most of her lectures are class discussions, which I usually enjoyed. And most the essays you read are good. That being said, she does have her weaknesses. She makes it clear on the first day that she does not want to be teaching the class. While she never acts unfairly because of this, it does damper the class. She also does not explain what she wants on her essays well. I had no idea what she wanted for the essays until i went to her office hours. She did help me a lot then, but i have also heard her turn people away because she does not want to help them. She also has her office hours at 7AM, probably so less students will go. Also, I said earlier that she was nice enough because she is not that nice, she is just nice enough not to be considered mean-if that makes any sense. She is not the worst english teacher you could get, but there are better

Cindy is a very exciting teacher. She never tries to lecture the class to death, she always have some good discussion topic or activity for the class to do. I really enjoyed going to her class, which is even hard for me to understand. Tests are hard, weekly quiz is easy as long as you do the reading.

Cindy is a really cool teacher. It was a night class and one of the class days was thurs 6-8 and she understood that none of us would want to be there and always let us out early. She still taught us everything we need to know, she just got straight to the point, no BS type stuff. She also brought us food a couple of times...thats alyways a plus. My writing really improved in her class, she is a tough grader, but if you do what she says u will do fine. I'd take her again for sure!

She is VERY hard. She does and is willing to help you but you must make the effort. Staying after class to go over things and ask questions will help. But she is hard and I wouldnt recommend her unless you were an AP or Honors Lit student in high school.

For 149, there are no tests, only quizzes (5%), resume/cover letter, a couple memos, and two big projects. This class sucks becuase you cannot do anything on your own, you are in a group the whole time. It is fuckin retarded to go to office hours because she never hands the assignments out until the class before they are due, and her office hours were the hour right before and after class. Even though she is slightly interesting, you really don't learn anything (in class you talk and get into groups and do little stupid exercises). we got out early regularly. she is an okay person, but the class itself just seems pointless. She is a hard grader, although rarely fails people.

Morrisson expects a lot. A LOT. And boy, you better give it to her. Final project was a 25+ (often 30) page report that documents and solves an "engineering problem" in SLO. You definitely learn how to write technical documents, and write them well, but the benefits aren't exactly visible at this very moment. Pray you get into a good group (nearly everything is done in a group that you stay with the entire quarter), and you should be OK. No midterms or final was the only upshot, but you still work your ass off harder than most math or science classes. She's a nice lady though. So if you have incredible organizational skills, a superhuman work ethic, and impeccable grammar and writing ability, you'll ace the class. 'Nuff said.

Ms. Morrisson is a decent professor who certainly would not appreciate her last name being spelled wrong on Polyratings. She starts out the quarter seeming very strict and grades the first few assignments hard to scare you. However, once you learn the formatting she wants and offer proof for all your points, you should do fine. I didn't like all the group work though--it constituted 50% of your grade. If you get a bad group, you're in trouble.
