This fuckwad is easily the worst Political Science professor I've ever had at Cal Poly. I know this sounds like exaggerated bitching. Feel free to take the class and figure it out for yourself. ... His explanations of everything are fucking way off-track. He reads straight from the book. And despite the fact that he stumbles through teaching something that the book can teach us just as well, he will assign you endless amounts of busywork that are pointless 95% of the time and rarely pertain to the subject matter of the class. He requires you to fill out these bullshit questions for every chapter of the book AND he assigns a timed 3 minute quiz that most people do not do well on because nobody has a solid grasp on the material. And the best part, he will fail you with a smile on his face despite having not even done the bare minimum as a professor. Some girl in our class is trying to organize going to the department head to complain about this guy because he is such a worthless piece of shit as a teacher. Have a day.

Professor Saavedra is very knowledgeable. His class consisted in covering statistical theory and using SPSS software during lab. His class was applicable, but he made us work hard. We were required to read one chapter a week prior to class and take a quiz the following week. He made us work during the lecture for credit and there was homework every week out of the book he used during the lab. He was strict with deadlines, but reasonable with the final grade.

I took this class last year. I don’t remember any required readings or quizzes. He did make you work though. I remember having to submit exercises during class to Polylearn for credit. There was homework every week and a final research paper, which I enjoyed doing.

Excellent Professor! He keeps a good class environment. He mixes lecture with lab exercises. He is very supportive and does his best at helping students. We are able to work on homework exercises during class and he allows us to ask him questions if we are stuck with the assignment.

Professor Saavedra is great. He knows his stuff and really cares about the students.
