Tony IS A SUPERRRR Nice professor!!!! 1) His labs are hard, but you learn so much from it. 2) He knows Android, you can see the passion he has when you hear him talk about Android. 3) He is super helpful in office hours. 4) He make you create an App for final project and publish it to Google app store. Our team made one, and that alone is such a resume material. 5) He is very genuine, approachable, and funny. If you do your work, and show him that you care, and passionate, you will definitely do well. Tony is an awesome teacher.

This class is Mobile App Development for Android. I've always wanted to learn how to develop apps, so I thought this would be a fun, exciting class. I WAS WRONG. I absolutely hate this class. We are given 30+ page labs each week to complete. The worst part about the labs is that I spend more time trying to figure out what the instructions are trying to say than actually coding. The lecture is not helpful AT ALL. Tony is a really nice guy, but is absolutely terrible at explaining things. AVOID THIS CLASS.

Someone seems to be trying to troll Tony because they got a bad grade. Labs were not 30+ pages long, they were barely a page. Yes, they did take a long time to complete, but if you went into his office hours and asked him specific questions, he was more than happy to walk you through it. His lectures were very relevant and useful and his tests were very fair. Android development in general is a very complex and time-consuming task. Don't expect to skate by in this class and get an A. But Tony was very passionate about what he was teaching and is definitely worth taking if he ever comes back.

I don't know why some other students rated him poorly. Tony is AWESOME! Yes the labs do take time, But they are really fun to do. This is honestly the most enjoyable course I have taken so far. The course involves homework assignments, quizzes, lab assignments, a project, midterm and finals ( and an extra credit assignment in the end). It's definitely a lot of work load and will keep you busy. But Tony is a great guy and will help you out with anything if you go to him in Office Hours. I would definitely recommend this class if he takes it again.

This android application development class was difficult but the material I learned was so worthwhile. Thanks to Tony, I was able to learn so much about a field that I hope to work in for as long as I can. Tony, on multiple occasions, was super helpful when me or my team struggled with our projects. The exams were also very fair. I thoroughly enjoyed taking this class with this particular professor. IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM!

Tony is the best professor at Cal Poly. He answers all questions with care and takes the time to really find out what you are asking him, no matter how insignificant or narrow-focused it might be. If you're interested in anything, he's willing to help you learn. He does not put you down for being curious or blow off your questions. Tony is very knowledgeable in app development, and makes sure to show "real world" examples (popular apps and their code) in class. The classroom environment is friendly, relaxed, and informal, very encouraging after other teachers treat students like babies. The assignments are easy and clearly laid out, and even build on each other, resulting in a cool resume-padding project. Classwork doesn't feel totally meaningless, unlike other CS classes where you create "hello world" and insert-sort programs again and again just to throw them away. There is very little homework (one assignment + the project).
