WVit 101. She is extremely unprepared for just about every class. She can't control a room full of freshmen because she goes off on random tangents about whatever comes to mind (elephants, lions, Ireland, the Mets). The assignments are ridiculous, the main purpose is to get you to use the resources around school and online. Don't expect her to tell you when things are due just keep an eye on the assignment list and don't forget to turn anything in because some of the assignments are worth a ton of points. Some in the class believed that you only needed to get 50% of the final points to get credit but you'll need 70% just so you know. No midterms or tests, some random easy quizzes on material from previous classes though.

She has no time to help students and I was often turned away even during her office hours. The course is not well organized by her. Students in the class were often not even sure of what was going on in the class. My main difficulty with her was that she didn't have time or patience to help or answer questions. If you do take this class with her you will need a good study partner and the ability to learn things on your own.

yes Marianne can be a bit confusing at times and very very busy, but nonetheless she is an excellent teacher. Most people feel overwhelmed at first, but by the end its smooth sailing. I really had no trouble doing well, as well as many other students in the class. She is full of valuable information about the marketing industry and knowledgeable about many other facets which makes class interesting while she goes off on various tangents throughout class. If you dont like group work, or powerpoint presentations you are going to loath the class. If you make an appointment for office hours, it would be a good idea to buzz her ahead of time to confirm the appt. Oh, and ALWAYS email her, NEVER call her office phone.

I learned so much in this class. I highly reccomend her. I learned more in this class than I have learned in any other class at Cal Poly. She enjoys what she does. Just make sure you go to class, it seems ovewhelming at first but in the end everything just fits together.

This class is a 400-level class. Expect considerable time off-class to work on the projects, exams, etc. If you are a Sophomore or early Junior, recosinder taking when late Junior, Senior standing. This class requires ability to organize your time accordingly. If you expect to have a 100,200,300 level class-style syllabus where everything you will do is outlined in detail and you just "plug 'n chug" and do all the professor asks, you're in for a big surprise. Hence, if you can organize your time accordingly, manage interruptions and make confident decisions by yourself. If you like the concepts of this class, you're in the right concentration.

This class can be a lot of work. Remember that Stat's class? Well all you learned there will apply here. The class is much easier if you remember just a little bit about statistics. But Marianne is a good teacher and will help you through the tough spots. Becareful....get a good group of people to work on each of the three projects, they are time consuming but if you get into it, can be alot of fun!

Marianne is the best teacher I have had at Cal Poly. She did a great job of explaining the information clearly, and this is coming from someone who got a C- in Stats! If you have any problems at all, she's extremely approachable. If you're anything like me, you're going to want to take her for 406, too!

Great Teacher, really cares about her students and their knowledge of the material. Real world projects for real world companies really prepares the students for life after graduation. Expect to do some work, not to hard, just some busy type work preparing for projects and lab assignments. Might not be your favorite at first, but you'll love it by the end!

This class is a waste of time and money. The only knowledge of wine that this woman has is from teaching a winter in Australia. She may be good for her 405 class, but if you are wine and vit, forget it. She starts out seeming really cool and down to earth. Just DON\'T EVER QUESTION HER KNOWLEDGE OR ANYTHING SHE DOES! After cut and pasting her exam together [in error], she condescendingly accused students of not studying... [Because how dare we question DOCTOR Wolf. She is the ONLY DOCTOR Wolf on campus, you know... or at least you will be the end of the first class. She grins when she shares the inferiority of her husbands degree when compared to her own.] So, in further attempt to NEVER be wrong the whole class became group projects after the exam fiasco. Now it\'s up to the good students to be the bad guys. As with most group projects (esp with sophomores in a senior class) there are 1-2 ppl that really do all the work and the group gets a good grade. but with wolf\'s twist, we can take points away from those that didn\'t do the work... seriously! It reminds me of communism, such a great theory, but really? SO BASICALLY IF YOU\'RE A GOOD B.S.er OR DON\'T MIND BEING THE BAD GUY, THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU! DON\'T PLAN ON LEARNING A THING ABOUT WINE. THE CLOSEST YOU GET IS ONE WEEKLY REPEATED BACARDI MKTG STORY.

Marianne is all over the place when we are in class. She introduces multiple projects to us at once and does not explain them well at all. Everyone is constantly shouting out for her to slow down, help us with questions, and clarify her instructions but she does not listen. Her material does seem useful and informative but she does not allow enough time in class for us to actually learn it because she explains each concept so quickly only to move onto the next concept and project. There is no way of retaining any information from her class.

I learned that if I were to take up hunting, I should shoot deer, not bears, because a bear will hunt me back if I successfully wound it. Fascinating! I didnt know that the key to production and operations management was so brutally simple!
