Nasir was mediocre. Her quizzes were very similar to or the exact same problems that she would assign on the homework, which she posted online with the solutions. Basically, going to lecture sometimes was utterly pointless. Also, most people did very well on her quizzes because her grader hardly ever checked anyone's answers. Studying for midterms was therefore difficult because all of my friends and I would have different answers for the same problem. She has a very thick accent, which is hard to understand at times, and her S's sometimes look like deltas on the whiteboard, which can get super confusing. Overall, literally just read the textbook, do the Stop to Think problems, and teach yourself the homework and you will get an A in this class. She's a kind woman, but I found her teaching style a little unsatisfactory.

I know that this was her first quarter at Cal Poly, but that does not excuse what an awful professor she was, probably one of the worst I've had so far. She did not seem confident in her teaching and she started off the year saying we were going to use iclickers then when no one brought them to class she just gave up. She was also not very organized and did not give back any homework or quizzes. She did not explain examples well at all. She would get halfway through the problem then just tell us to finish it ourselves so we never knew if we were solving them correctly. The homework was basically pointless when it came to the midterms. Her lectures were not important what so ever I missed over half and did not pay attention when I did go and still got an A on the midterm. That being said her midterms were easy, but her final was extremely hard in comparison. If it wasn't for Echols, my lab professor, I would not have learned a single thing in this class.

Nasir was a great teacher. Her lectures were always on point, always did plenty of examples, even dropped hints on ones that would be on midterms and quizzes. Her polylearn was always up to date. She would grade the homework and tell us where we messed up. Super helpful in office hours. Always got midterms, quizzes, labs, homework, back within a week. Overall a really straightforward class and great teacher. Everything I just said is completely fucking opposite of what happened in her class. She never passed back anything, we literally had to convince her she has to pass back our midterms. Lectures were absolutely pointless as well as the homework. Final was retardly hard. Finals week she literally only held 2 total hours of office hours, like wtf, no professor ever does that. Through the whole quarter none of us had any idea what our grades were. Every week I would ask her to see what my grade is, and she would just give some BS answer. She would say things, I am going to have a review session before the midterm, that never fucking happened, she said that then act like she just never said it. A week before the final she said she would give us a practice final, again never happened, and she acted like she never said anything. Overall she suck, do not take her.

I would not recommend taking this class with her. She is by far probably the worst professor I have had. Her final was ridiculously hard.

The reality is, physics 132 is a difficult course, and it's the instructor's job to make it easier for us. Of course, we have to put in the time and effort to read the chapters, and do the homework before coming to class; and it isn't always easier to do so. Professor Fariha did a great job in her lectures, and the labs were easy. After lecturing, she'd have us do examples that are in the book. A lot of students say her exams were hard, and it is, only if you didn't do the homework. Also, it's unlikely that any student can completely understand the material discussed after class, so reading the appropriate sections before going to class is very helpful! I'd recommend taking her! She's a very nice professor, accommodating, and approachable!

Professor Nasir was an okay professor overall, but seemed much better than some other physics professors I heard about from friends/study sessions etc. Her lecturing was usually pretty clear and I applaud her neatness and use of multiple colors on the whiteboard. However, there were no quizzes (not even the "practice" ones she said she'd give on the syllabus) so it was difficult to know if you were really prepared for the midterms or not. Homework problems often appeared on the free response sections, but the multiple choice were more conceptual and challenging. That being said, there were curves on all exams to help recoup your losses. Also, my class was a combined lecture-lab, and each week we had to write actual lab reports and answer dumb questions and all that, but at the end of the quarter Prof Nasir said we'd all just get 100% for all labs. I still can't decide if I find that frustrating or generous.

Professor fariha is an amazing professor and Very knowledgeable of the material. It's just such a hard class. Pay attention. her exams are very tough. If you want to pass this class please DO THE HOMEWORK, understand the concepts and try not to miss the classes and you should be fine..... Good Luck

I liked Dr.Nasir . I learned a lot in this class. she does provide an equation sheet but expects you to understand the equations, you can't just plug numbers into formulas. She's also very helpful if you meet with her outside of class. Take her if you want to learn the material. She is very good at explaining difficult topics. I know I'm in the minority here but I think exams were challenging but not too hard. If you pay attention in class, do your homework and understand the lab questions you should be able to get a B. The good thing is she'll curve whatever she can to save your ass.

Her lectures were mostly useless, luckily I had Echols for lab which prepared me well for her midterm and final. I spent a ton of time outside of class studying the book and working extra homework problems. I got an A, but put in a disproportionate amount of time compared to similar classes this year. I wouldn't recommend this professor if you can avoid her.
