Her jokes. They're awful. Otherwise she's a decent teacher, and always makes extra time before the midterms and the final to help students prepare. Extra credit on the back of every test, and she let us take a couple of the weekly quizzes as group quizzes. Not your worst option for Math 141, but again- her jokes suck.

The homework load was fair. She taught really well and made an effort to get to know everyone. She is a very fair grader. She was the first professor I ever had and perhaps the best I have had so far.

I learned a lot having Anna as a calc 2 professor. She taught me things I was supposed to learn in calc 1 and lots more in an easier way than i would have previously thought about the material. She lectures solely on examples but makes them fairly easy to understand. She has quizzes every week that are fairly difficult but if you prove you understand the concepts she gives lots of partial credit. Her midterms weren't too hard and based mostly on the examples used in class and the problems on the quizzes. She is very helpful during tests/ quizzes to answer any questions you have. I would highly recommend her!

Professor Kopcrack is a pretty decent teacher even though her jokes are terrible (like so bad). She gives three tests, two midterms and a final. The midterms are about 7-10 questions and are not too difficult. As long as you take good notes you will be fine. Also she doesn't grade very hard. As long as you show your work you will get lots of partial credit. As for homework there is a decent amount. Id say a total of 4-6 hours at the most worth of problems. it varies, some weeks there is only one section due.

I had Professor Kopcrak for MATH 141 and loved her so I took her for 142 as well. She is very quirky but it can be entertaining and keep you from falling asleep during class. She loves to get to know her students personally and she will spend lots of time with you in office hours to help you with whatever you need. Office hours are an essential part of doing well in her class, however they can be fairly busy. She gives a lot of worksheets in 141 and not as many in 142, but the worksheet problems explain the concepts much better than the book problems and she gets a lot of her quiz and exam questions from them (ask for extra worksheets in 142!). The class consists of weekly homework, a quiz once a week, two midterms, and a final. The homeworks are long and not always helpful, but she does collect and grade them. The quiz and exam questions usually come from the in-class examples and worksheets, so those are more important to study. The quizzes can be tricky, but the exams are usually easier and everything overall is medium difficulty. Overall, Kopcrak is a great professor and is especially helpful if you can cultivate a personal relationship in office hours or over multiple quarters. Take her if you have the opportunity!

Anna is such a quirky fun person! Her classes can get a bit redundant but that's only because she wants to make sure that you fully understand each concept before moving on. There is a lot of homework for this class but if you do it all you won't really need to study much beyond that. 7 Homeworks, 6 Quizzes, 3 midterms and a final. I got a D on one midterm and still ended with an A in the class. She really cares about each student as a person, I would highly recommend taking this class with her.

I chose Kopcrak because of her high polyratings, and she's a solid calc teacher overall. Based on what peers in other sections of this course tell me, her Bus Calc class is on the more demanding side of the scale. Expect roughly 4 hours of heavily-graded, challenging homework per week, and moderately challenging tests. If you put in the time and effort, you'll do alright. I wouldn't say it's an easy A or even an easy B, but everyone should be able to get at least a C. She's got a light, quirky personality that helps you pass the time, but she can also show her agitated side if the class is checked out (which happens pretty easily to a bunch of business majors in a tough calc class). If you end up with her, you're not doomed, but be ready to put in lots of work.

Anna kopcrak not only in a condescending professor who does not respect the intelligence of her own students, but she also is incapable of teaching those who are not math-oriented. She cannot teach math in a way that is easily understood, and when you are confused in class she has the ability to make you feel like you have the intelligence of a goat. She gives weekly quizzes and assigns an immense amount of homework every week. The homework is graded by accuracy, and despite you trying your absolute best, you will not receive full credit on a homework assignment. This class was one of the most frustrating and difficult classes I have ever experience in my academic career. I do not recommend this professor. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

I absolutely loved Anna. She understands that this is a support class (for BUS majors), and when the class isn't in the mood to do work, she recognizes it and lets students out early. Her homework is a BITCH, but if you do it all yourself and understand it, the midterms are easy. If you pay attention in class and make an effort to create small talk with her, she will help you out with anything, even if it is a test. When I took our second midterm (one of two) there was one problem I didn't know how to do and she helped guide me to the correct steps and answer. She genuinely wants to see her students succeed and will go out of her way to do so. She makes a LOT of dad jokes, but it eases tension when people don't want to talk or pay much attention. 10/10 recommend taking her class, if you put in the effort on homework it makes the tests a lot easier.

Kopcrak's a goofy lady, but because of that, her teaching is kind of fun. There are times where she allows group quizzes or partner quizzes so if that doesn't sell you I don't know what will. She's a very understanding professor who just wants to see you succeed and will do whatever she can to help you pass the course. Go to office hours!

Anna Kopcrat is a terrible teacher. She will not help students if they are having difficulties. Instead, she says "interesting, interesting" when you ask her for clarification. She will literally say this and then walk away. I don't think she knows how to properly explain concepts to her students. Almost all of the learning I did in this class was through the textbook. She also somehow manages to make you feel like a total idiot by putting down your ideas. She has made at least 2 students cry. She also assigns and unbelievable amount of work. There are... -4 tests which have some very poorly written unfair questions -weekly homework assignments that are extremely lengthy. She gives huge homework assignments that are due on test days too, so don't expect to have time to study. -10 quizzes in class -8 reflections-each reflection is about 3-4 pages long of in depth evaluation of math teachers shown in videos- this takes so so long. - Glossary of terms. about 130 terms. Each term takes up an entire page with a picture, definition, and follow up question to help a student better understand the term. While this glossary could be a great assignment, she simply gives too many terms. Expect to spend at least 30 hours working on this dang glossary. I think that Anna basically thinks that her class is the only one that students are taking and that they can dedicate their entire week to her pointless and endless assignments. Literally take anyone else for this class. If she is your only option, just do not take this class until someone else is teaching it.

TL;DR --> if you’re bad at math Anna will make sure you don't forget it. your GPA and sanity will truly suffer if you take her. if you’re really good at math then definitely take her, it'll be an easy A. **THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT MATH 227, 238, 239, AND 330**. I’ve been waiting to see how I feel about her at the very end before sharing, so I have a lot to say about Anna.. I was going to write it in my course evals but ran out of time working on her stupid time consuming (aka busy work) projects (that she then complains takes forever for her to grade... ugh). So I’ll happy write it here for everyone to see. I’ve been putting off writing a review for over a year because I was waiting for her teaching methods to improve. they didn’t. I want to preface that I sympathized with her, it must’ve been SO difficult to come into a classroom teaching this content for the very first time! I know I’ll have to do the very same thing in just a few years, so I always wrote positive reviews (basically I said yeah there's room for improvement, but this is still new for her so with practice it'll get better. I can see she's kinda trying and that’s enough imo) I put myself in her shoes and have respected her as I would want my future students to respect me. that being said, there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for the horrible job she has done as my professor. after over a year barely anything has changed. I’m convinced she takes our reviews and throws them in the trash. as a future elementary teacher I need to be able to explain math in a simple way to my students so they can understand. it is the instructor's JOB that they get PAID FOR to ensure their students understand the material. I've always been shitty at math, and I wasn't confident in my abilities to teach it. I was hoping this course could help me understand it better. I wanted to understand concepts inside and out to improve my teaching, so my future students wouldn’t continue to struggle with math like I have my entire life. Unfortunately, like the math 329 review said, she is incapable of explaining concepts in a simplified way. and she definitely makes you feel like a complete idiot if you don’t understand or solve the problem as fast as she can. She gets quickly frustrated when I ask her a question and take a few seconds to just think about it! I think it's because math comes so easily to her that she truthfully doesn't know HOW to explain it. When I’m confused she says "hmm.. not quite" or "oo, good question. interesting. we'll get back to that!" (she said we didn’t have time for it later, oh and guess what it was on the quiz). She makes things so much more complicated than they need to be, and doesn't understand at all what it's like to struggle in school. What's even more frustrating is that she doesn't seem to try and help us out.. she just gives up and her attitude screams "sucks to suck guess you'll just fail" For example, there was one time just a few weeks ago where, for simplicity, I’ll just say she explained a concept in a really wordy and confusing way, so we were asking her questions. She would partially answer them, but then repeat the complicated explanation she said earlier. Understandably we all got really frustrated because we kept asking her basically the same question (because most of us didn’t understand what the hell she was talking about) and all she was doing was repeating what she was saying. so she just said nevermind and we ended class early or took our quiz or some bullshit. all we were trying to do was have her explain it a different way (i.e. I could see her try to explain 4 x 3 as "4 hypothetical units that are grouped together into 3's, and after you complete this algorithm process your product, that is maybe in other cases your sum, depending on your perspective, is 12". when she could've just said "4 x 3 is the same as saying '4 added 3 times' either way your answer is 12") There's a lot more I could say.. but it all boils down to her inability to teach. I cannot fathom why the university thought it would be a good idea to hire someone WHO HAS NEVER TAUGHT IN AN ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM to teach FUTURE ELEMENTARY TEACHERS. we're all paying thousands of dollars to attend this incredible institution that prides itself on learning by doing. the admin in charge of this should be embarrassed they allowed this to happen. Anna is a kind person, and I truthfully feel guilty pointing out all of the flaws and being so harsh. However, this is MY education and MY future that IM paying for, not anyone else. I'm disappointed that a year of my time and effort has been wasted on this class. I've learned more from my smart math friends in class and some free Pinterest boards than I have from Kopcrak’s class. the ONLY reason I feel compelled to write this long ass review is because I don't want anyone who struggles with math (and/or truthfully wants to further their education and help their students) to fuck themselves over like I did. as someone who has struggled academically my entire life, Anna Kopcrak made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to succeed. normally I have fairly good grades, not anything like Dean’s list but something I’m proud of. I put a lot of effort into my work in and out of class -- I constantly asked questions and visited her office hours, and I know that I’m one of her favorites because she's always nice to me (since I’m always respectful to her). Ultimately, I’m disappointed I didn't get the education I deserve..
