Livingston is a fantastic professor. She's very kind, grades fairly, and does a great job of presenting course material clearly while also getting students to work together.

Morgan is one of the best professors I have had at Cal Poly. The first day of class she gives you the schedule for the whole quarter and she stuck to the schedule. Her lectures were very easy to follow and her work load was manageable. The class consists of three essays and a few pop quizzes based on the material covered that day. She is very helpful in office hours and she gives you the opportunity to make changes to one of your old essays and resubmit it for another grade. Overall Morgan is a great professor and I would highly recommend taking her class.

Don't take this course if your easily annoyed. Livingston is a very high school professor-- that means the class is pretty easy, but also pretty stupid. It will be an easy B or A if you put in a little extra effort which is nice, but you might go crazy before the end of the course. She calls everything "cliche", but it seems like thats just her go-to word and she doesn't really know what it means. She won't make you a better writer because the majority of the course involves bullshit reading quizzes and writing assignments. When you ask a question she just reverberates the question as the answer. You can't skip class because participation is a pretty good part of your grade. Overall this class is easier than AP english in high school, which is good for the GPA, but really stupid because I'm paying thousands of dollars for this.

Professor Livingston was one of the best teachers ive had at cal poly so far. No midterms and no final. Just a group iFixit project, which is easy if you have a good group, and a couple writing assignments. There were a shit ton of quizzes though and she always took attendance so be ready to go to class and pay attention to the material she presents. But overall Morgan was dope and i would definitely take her again if i could. She's also ridiculously hot so that's a bonus too.

She was a great teacher but got annoyed easily. I looked her a lot, but it definitely is not an easy A. If she thinks you deserve to pass, you will probably get a C. I know she failed a few of my friends who didn't try hard in the class, missed, and never came to office hours. her papers are pretty hard. shes a decently tough grader. she can be nice and other times a total stickler. I did like her though, she pushed me to do my best.

Professor Livingston is a great teacher. She does her best to break down the class's schedule for the quarter, and the lectures are always on point. Reading the textbook is always homework before class. The final paper packs the last couple weeks of the course with a lot of research and writing. There was one big test in the course with pop quiz essays based on textbook readings. Overall, the class was all right.

Morgan is not the greatest but not the worst. She is very friendly and approachable and extremely good in office hours. If you ask a question, she is not one of those professors that asks you more questions so you end up answering your own question. She gives you very straighfoward ideas and will tell you exactly how to do something if you are unsure. Her class is made up of a small 2-3 page definition essay, MC midterm, media analysis presentation/essay, reading quizzes, participation, research paper prep project and a 7-10 page research paper that acts as the final. Everything was really easy except the definition essay and the research paper. She really picks apart your writing and critiques you for menial things. I would go to her office hours and get her approval on things and then get points off from that same thing. This class is an extremely easy B but tougher to get an A. I don't think morgan is the best professor but i also wouldn't shy away from taking her again.

This professor is the worst English teacher at cal poly. And no I did not fail the class I got an A-. Her grading is the most flawed and unintelligent process I've ever dealt with. Do not take this teacher!!!! She is a bitch and she thinks her grading is the only way to grade. She doesn't negotiate grades even if you supply sufficient evidence it should be higher. She graded my last research essay and gave me an 81%. I knew this wasn't the fact cause I'm a good writer so I have my psych teacher who went to Stanford grade it and they gave it an 89%. She's too young and bias and unintelligent to be a professor.

It doesn't matter if you're an outstanding english writer in this class, because this instructor solely grades based on her rubric. That sounds reasonable right? Not exactly- Livingston's rubric is based off of 25% content and 75% technicality. Wrote an outstanding paper but fail to adhere to parts of MLA citations? That's already minus 10 points. Don't take this class for a grade; instead, you should take it as pass/fail. She is smart and very articulate- I'll give her that. However, her mindset is very narrow minded and not open to student's feedback.

Livingston was one of the most demeaning professors I’ve ever encountered. Not sure if she just had a vendetta against me personally, but she always presented herself as above her students. Some assignments were poorly presented, leading to her students not being successful, and when I tried to point this out to her I was told that “my ethos was in question” and that I “needed to check my attitude”. She had absolutely no idea who her students were, something I figured out after going into her office hours to ask for a proofread of my essay during WEEK 7, and she had literally no idea who I was, even after I told her my name and said I had been in her class 3 hours prior. For a class of 25 students she saw 4 times a week, you would have thought she could have at least recognized me. She demanded that grades could only be discussed in person during office hours, but that obviously wasnt a good option. It was an unfair and terrible class and I wouldn’t take it if you have a problem being treated like you’re a 5 year old child :)

First off, her name is actually Morgan Livingston. When I walk into her class, I immediately have a raging hard-on and it's not because I like English or anything (I hate it). It's because she's so fucking gorgeous I've spend half of the class daydreaming about different ways to convince her to give me head. When I am listening, however, she teaches with the elegance of a swan bird landing and swimming around a crystal clear lake. She is a fair grader and the class is easy and also applicable. If only she was as easy as her material, because if she was I would be treating her to dinner each night of the week and buy her anything she wanted just to have her in bed with me. Also she attaches her photo or herself to her email and she emails daily so even if you try to keep it in your waistband all day it'll pop back out because she's everywhere and I'm not arguing

Take Morgan for Tech Writing. Her assignments and activities are straightforward and to the point. She gives us very few or useless/busywork assignments and she grades pretty easily. Be ready, though, to put a lot more effort on the Recommendation Report than the rest of the class simply because it’s a big assignment that requires a lot of time. Morgan’s also pretty easy to get along with. Just come to class and do all the assignments and you should easily get an A or B.

Morgan! nice, sweet, young, and pretty! makes a real boring class tolerable. imo, a very important class for engineers. take it seriously, even tho a lot of it is stuff you may know already (resume, memo, etc). it's pretty straightforward to get a decent grade on an assignment (B/A) but she doesn't seem to give out 100's too often. i had a lot of work with no corrections or complaints and would get a 95. take her!

Morgan's supper cool (and sweet :) )! First thing that stands out is that she's really young and nice, so I think that helps since she has a better understanding and interaction with us in general as young adults. She got her masters from calpoly not long ago! She's one of the few teachers that will assign projects/assignments in class that are ACTUALLY USEFUL and just in time for the career fair (resume ready just before it! ). Some teacher's don't do anything for career fair prep and do very minimal practical stuff. She even helped a friend of mine with his resume even though he had a different engl 149 prof. Always there for you at office hours though. She's close to the folks at iFixit downtown so our iFixit project was really well set up. Only concern was her pace once in a while, boy does she cover a lot of material each lecture! I finally decided to just type out what she was saying in lecture. Otherwise, tis the first and maybe only english class that I'll ever have that is actually super applied and useful for oustide the class considering the projects: Resume, Linkedin, eporfolio, iFixit repari guide, recommendation report, and memo pretty much. Take her! :)

Morgan is an all-star teacher. This was one of my favorite classes and I hate english period. Everything we did in this class was for the bettering of our resumes and experience moving forward. No time was wasted writing pointless papers or articles. Everything we did was relevant and tailored to us an individuals. Very pretty, approachable, all around great person. Wish I could take her again.

Morgan is really nice, but you always have to show up on time because it does affect your grade. She's super pretty for all my guys too which is a plus. It's very easy to ask for help and she's really understanding. Not a bad class, just keep up with the work.

Morgan is a good professor. She presents the material really clearly, and her class isn't hard to understand. However, she always has weird times for deadlines like 8PM. Additionally, she is VERY specific when it comes to grading grammar (i.e. if you're just using spellcheck you will get a C), which ends up being at least a third of your grade on any given assignment.

This class is bullshit. You will learn everything you need to within the first two weeks. After the resume/cover letter lectures, the class is a waste of your time. Morgan will assign you the iFixit project because it is a "light workload" during midterm season. The fact that it is a relatively intensive group project only makes midterm season worse. Because you have to fit the work in with other people's schedules, the work takes longer to complete and has to be done at awkward times. Most high achieving engineering students will find it very difficult to give half a shit about this class.

I entered this class and I felt that Professor Livingston was a very outgoing and welcoming professor, she presented material clearly throughout the quarter and was consistent with her lecturing to provide the information and material we needed for the class. As I continued through the quarter, there were some weird things that stood out to me while in her class that I felt kind of took away from her presence as a professor. She would sometimes treat her class like a high school class, she would snap at us to stop packing when there was a minute left of class and we were getting ready to go, she would snap at people who would fall asleep in class, and she would constantly tell me to get off my computer even though I told her I take notes on my computer and I had to tell this to her over a million times. As a professor she shouldn't give a shit and should stop treating us like high school students. If we fall asleep in class, tough shit, we miss the material and thats on us don't interrupt the class to tell us to wake up. If we pack up, so be it, some of us have to be across campus in ten minutes at the top of the hour, who cares. No other professor here cares about that. I feel she is on a power trip sometimes. Outside of weird habits that were annoying, her grading was very picky for how much work she demands from us for a technical writing course. I did my final recommendation report with the example she posted for us that she said she gave a perfect score on. I made sure my work was my own but carried the same structure and elements as the example. She gave me a C on my report. I put so much time into it as well and made sure it was thorough. Others in the class had felt the same. So overall, she's just harsh and on a power trip in my opinion but her assignments are pretty self explanatory so I guess just bug the fuck out of her on big assignments and make sure its up to her standard .

Morgan is a mediocre professor. She is insincere and incredibly nit picky about assignments. With that being said the class itself is not too difficult or complex, so it does not require a great professor to teach it. Lecture is incredibly boring and I found myself zoning out quite often. This is one of those classes that you just have to "get through" and Morgan is not the worst option for professors to "get through" a class with.

Morgan is a good tech writing professor, however I would not take this class again. She permanently talks in a passive aggressive tone, is hard to like, and will make you wan to rip your hair out, especially at 7am. There are unannounced quizzes that she makes when she feels the class isn't writing enough notes when she lectures or when no one raises their hand to answer a question from a reading 5 weeks ago. She is really big on grammar and will mark you down, so go to the writing center before you turn in any paper. There is an iFixit project, which is easy and manageable to do.

Livingston has good information to give but talks so fast during class that its hard to understand it. She's a fair grader, but is extremely particular so you have to follow the rubrics and her format exactly if you want a good grade. I definitely didn't expect this class to be as much work as it was so be prepared. She did bring us slodoco at the end of the quarter though so that was a plus.

Morgan was an awesome professor for 149. She did not give a midterm. The class consisted of a resume and cover letter project, an iFixit project, weekly quizzes, and a recommendation report project. The final was the recommendation report that was due during finals week. As long as you are willing to put in the effort and show you care about your work, it should be easy getting an A. The iFixit project can be a real hit-and-miss. As with any group project, it really depends on your group and the level of effort each member is willing to commit. The recommendation report project is worth 45% of your grade. Be sure to dedicate plenty of time to the project. Morgan can be nit-picky with the details (grammar and formatting) in grading, but that is expected. It's a professional writing class. Every assignment Morgan gives is purposeful and applicable in industry. If you want to gain writing skills you will use in industry and beyond, take Morgan.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...
