I highly recommend orienteering. Easy A, really fun, you don't lose anything by taking it. No work outside of class. You get credit to hike around Polycanyon and learn about compasses and maps. Great opportunity! Oh, and Captain Medaris is a chill guy and he's good at explaining the simple concepts of the class.

Captain Medaris a grade A badass, just ask him yourself. He's easily capable of teaching any subject at Cal Poly. He may not look like it, but he can profess military doctrine better than the average bear. If you're stupid and don't know it yet, Cpt. Medaris will let you know. That's why he's a such great professor.

CPT Medaris has done for MSL what Darwin did for biology; he revolutionized it. He is, without a doubt, the most high speed APMS Cal Poly has seen these many years. His prowess in the classroom but more importantly the gym are unparalleled in the history of the military science department. He always squats below the parallel, and is fueled in part by pure hooah and in part by his emergency pack of hardboiled eggs (always served cold). If there are any doubts about his qualification, one must only inquire about his 8 mile time and your mind will be put at ease. One point of criticism, he has unusually small calves which has been a point of contention in the past. Efforts have been made to remedy this flaw but sadly no headway seems to have been made in this respect. However we are all human, even Jeremy "J-Steel" Medaris. Overall, 10 out of 10 would do again. If you have the opportunity, take a class with this prof. it WILL change your life.

Back in 'Nam, CPT Medaris was a pure bad ass. He once was surrounded by 12 snakes and took them down by catching one of the snakes and whipping the others to death.
