Abe gives a great lecture. If you like a clearly put, quick-paced lecture, Abe's your man. He goes fast, but makes it easy to understand. I ended up failing because studio took over my life that quarter and I didn't do the homework, so I can't say much about homework loads. Abe cares about his students, and doesn't judge if you end up in the situation I did. He never makes you feel stupid and is really good at making ARCE easy to understand. He's one of the teachers who's really there for the students; it's not just a day job.

Abe is one of the best at Cal Poly in my opinion! Homework can be kind of overkill sometimes but it really helps with understanding the concepts. One midterm and it was basically exactly like some of the more difficult homework problems so do the homework. The final was a common final which was no problem as long as you did all your homework. He\'s real easy to talk to, he\'s more than willing to answer any question you may have, and it would be a shame if you don\'t get the chance to take his class. I think that his lectures are pretty easy to follow, but there are the occasional moments when it gets confusing.

Abe'steaching is some of the best you will see, especially in regards to the study of engineering. He is clear, concise, and will take the time necessary to explain difficult concepts to you. The material in this class is not easy, but Abe makes it less painful than it might be otherwise. He will also give you the benefit of the doubt when he gives you the final grade. I highly recommend Abe to anyone who struggled their way through Physics like I did. I couldn't pull anything better than C's and D's in Physics and thought I was doomed, not so with Abe.

I can't agree more with the previous commentators. I have never taken a course whose professor is so keenly in touch with his students and the degree to which they understand the material. And rarely have I met a person (let alone professor!) as genuine, caring, and as interesting. Midterms - he offers a bookfull of old tests in the reserve room - good study material and great prep for the tests. If you take him, get to know him. If you don't take him, get to know him. He's high quality.

Abe is probably the best teacher I've had since I've been here. He doesn't put a big emphasis on homework so most of your grade is weighted on your test. the tests on straightforward. Very helpful. Very knowledgable. If you have the choice, take this guy.

Eventhough this class is only two units, it does require quite a bit of work. The breakdown of the class is as follows: 15% homework, 15% quizzes, 20% midterm, 50% final. Abe had a clear cut lecture every class and you learn quite a bit. The first half of the class is spent perfecting concepts that you learn in Arce 221. There were only 4 homework assignments. His quizzes were hard though and the first midterm was really tough. He does take things into consideration when he grades the tests however. It's not did you get the right answer, or not. The best thing was that he had his previous exams available in the library so you knew what types of problems to expect. He's pretty quick in his lecture, so be prepared to write. His office door is usually always open and he spots errors very quickly. You'll learn a lot.

Abe is an excellent professor, possibly the best in the ARCE department. He explains the material very clearly and his lectures are very structured. Definitely try to get him.

Abe is a nice guy. He is VERY passionate about the material he teaches which in turn makes you want to learn from him. However, his lectures are EXTREMELY fast-paced! If you take Abe, be prepared for multiple hand cramps while taking notes. His tests aren't easy, but they reflect what he goes over in class and what we cover on homework. There are unannounced quizzes, but that is sort of an ARCE tradition. Be prepared to rely a lot on your classmates, because Abe is very reluctant to give you the answer you want/need if you are stuck on a homework problem. He'll give you a hint, but really doesn't help too much. In regards to ARCE 227, i thought it was too much work for a two unit class, but that doesn't downplay Abe's teaching abilities..he just goes a bit over the top sometimes.

Abe is very kind which makes me want to listen to him. He is very passionate about teaching and he really cares about his students. He really does. You can ask him any question and he will not make you feel inferior to him. He tries his best to answer your questions fully and makes sure afterwards you understand. He can give a lot of suprise quizes that catch you off guard but don't get too caught up on them. Just keep doing the homework and listening to his lectures. I definitely recommend him as a teacher. Good luck!

Amazing professor. Fast paced but INCREDIBLY clear lectures. Teaches the subject in the most clear way possible, and if you still don't get it, he will attack your question from another angle. Best professor ever. Hands down.

Abe is a nice guy, but his lectures tend to be very confusing sometimes. One day he would tell us something and then a few lectures later he would explain that same thing differently. He would admit to the mistake, but it made it very difficult. This was only his 2nd or 3rd time teaching this class but it seemed like we learned a lot of stuff that wasn't important. Also, you spend your time trying to write so fast that it is hard to get a clear picture of what he is saying. Expect a quiz on the first day...oh, and the last day! Also, homeworks may take forever so be prepared. He is usually forgiving when it comes to your final grade, but I don't like worrying all quarter about one class.
