Carol is one of the nicest professors i've had here so far. she is always willing to help and make you understand the language. She gave a lot of work but that kept me from slacking off and procrastinating in a class that one shouldn't be doing that. i highly recomend her!!! she's awesome.

Carol is an excellent teacher, she supplements the less-than-informative book with excellent activities and handouts. Her tests are very thorough and although she has a reputation for being tough, one will learn a great deal and feel extremely confident in the skills she teaches.

Carol is one of the toughest professors I've had at CP, but also one of the best, despite a less than stellar grade. However, one should only take her classes if you are prepared to study hard. But you will thoroughly understand the material if you put in the work.

Carol Lick is one of the BEST teachers I have had here at Cal Poly. I had her for 2 quarters of French and she is the reason I decided to pursue a French minor. This year, she was made director of the foreign language lab and a new teacher was hired to teach the intermediate level of French. Carol was very good at helping students understand what was going on in the class. She has a great teaching style and used lots of visual aids, such as movies, music videos and objects which she brought from home to emphasize what we were learning about. In addition to that, we often listened to French songs and would go through the lyrics analyzing their sentence structure. She also showed us many interviews that she conducted with French people while she was studying over there. All this contributed to making it my favorite class of the day, the one I looked forward to the most. The teacher that has taken over teached from the book and I do not learn as much from her. I can't stand going to the class now because I just sit and wait for the hour to be done with. I hope that they bring Carol back into the classroom so that others will learn to love the language as I have.
