If flowcharts could speak, then it would be easy. He knew the material very well, but couldn't put it across in a cohesive manner. Very dry lectures. the word to the wise is to take Dr. Floyd.

ELDON IS A PRETTY SWEET TEACHER. HE IS THE CHINESE VERSION OF DON JOHNSOON AND RUMER HAS IT THAT HE IS AN EXCELENT BOWLER WITH WRIST BRACE AND ALL. HE HAS A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR AND LOVES HIS OWN JOKES. MY PARTNER AND I WERE EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL IN NEGOTIATING LAB GRADES WITH ELDON, WE AVERAGED ABOUT 95-100% FOR OUR INCOMPLETE LABS. JUST LAUGH AT HIS JOKES, PRETEND THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS SAYING WITH HIS FOBBISH ACCENT, AND DO A LOT OF MINGLING WITH HIM AND YOU WILL BE FINE. bESIDES THAT HE IS PRETTY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT MIS. P.S. DONT DET INVOLVED IN THE SENA VS. LI RIVALRY, IT HAS EVOLED TO BECOME A VERY NASTY BUT SUBTLE GRASSROOTS SLANDER BATTLE THAT INVOLES STUDENT MINIPULATION/DECEPTION THOUGH THEIR ATEMPTS TO TURN STUDENTS AGIANST THE OTHER DURRING AFTER CLASS OFFICE VISITS, IN CLASS SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES, AND INTANGABLE PROPAGANDA. I PERSONALLY THOUGHT THAT ELDON SHOULD BE THE MIS CHAIR UNTIL HE HE GAVE MY PARTNER AND I A B+ INSTEAD OF AN A- AND SO NOW I AM SKEWD A LITTLE MORE TOWARDS SENA.

He basically lectures to the computer screen and not the students. The whole time students are cutting and pasting code so we never really grasp the concepts.

Dr. Li is classic. He is very understanding to his students difficulties and is always willing to help. His class is not too difficult; just do the homework correctly and study for tests. Dr. Li has tactics.

Basically, it's an easy class with a boring, put you to sleep teacher. Labs are easy

Dr. Li was a well informed, organized professor. Class puts you to sleep very easily. Boring lectures and much information. His class was rather tedious with many slides and many abbreviations to remember. You can buy the book at the bookstore with all the Lecture Slides in. I advise doing that. Much EASIER than taking endless notes. He assumed of course that you remembered all of them and used them in your everyday conversations. Most people don't. Homework was about 40% of the grade and 5 roll calls (random) were about 8% so you are guaranteed about 50% an A if you show up and do all the homework. Homework was time consuming (unless you already know Excel and Access) but very easy. Midterm and final were Scantron mult choice tests and all the questions are on the Internet (if you want to go through 200 questions). Show up, read the book, listen to the lectures, go to labs and you will get a good grade.

Professor Li is awesome. This class is a piece of cake as long as you show up to class and do the homeworks. Definately take him

Eldon Li has one of those sexy asian accents that just make you want to watch a kung fu movie. Everytime Dr. Li says "data" it sounds like "theta". 36% of your grade consists of computer assignments that he grades really easy. You have one midterm and one final that each count for 20%. He gives you 35 of the 50 questions on the exams so if you study those questions, you can't get worse than a C. Dr. Li even bumped up the grades on the test because he thought they were too low. Dr. Li's nephew is Jett Li, the famous asian actor. He tells crazy stories about how he taught Jett Li kung fu. Ya gotta take this guy!

The labs are very easy, but tedious. There are 6 homework assignments and 2 midterm exams. Also, a group project, which is very easy. His lectures are terrible. He is hard to understand and has 15 out of 50 questions on his exams about his lecture. Most of the class misses all 15 of these questions. There is also a web site to create and he grades very easy. Almost all students in the class received full credit for their web site. He also gives 5 points for attendance and participation. So be sure to attend class! Memorize the sample exam questions and answers he posts on his web site--these will be on your midterm. An easy 35 out of 50 points. I didn't score so well on the midterms or Final and still receive a B+ overall in the class.

Ryan's guide to acing the class. OK so most of this class is doing 3 access and 3 excel assignments. They are ridiculously boring but just as easy. Its basically press this button, type this, click here for a couple hours each. There is also a website which once you get going on is pretty easy too and takes less than two hours. You should be able to get an A on all of these which is almost half of your grade. Just do them completely on time and it will happen. You also have to actually come to class cause he randomly takes attendance and it counts about 5% of total grade and affects your participation. I don't know what else decides participation cause by the third week no one pays attention to his lecture at all which is completely worthless by the way. Everyone is doing the homework assignments on the computers during class or on facebook. Seriously, every single person. The tests are 50 questions 40 of which are taken directly off a test bank of 300 questions. The other ten are from the lecture. Taking the time to go through all the test bank questions sucks but if you make flashcards for the ones that aren't common sense and learn them you will get at least 80% on the test and you can buy his lecture slides and go over them too if you want but I didn't and still got an A. So basically go to class and work on the homework while there. Make flashcards for the test bank questions you don't know and turn in everything on time and you will get an A. Amount of work: 5/10 Difficulty: 2/10.

Dr. Li's lectures are dry but the style of this class and the previous class are very real world. The project experience in this class is invaluable. I've presented my team project to interviewers and they've been very impressed. Dr. Li is extremely helpful in Lab and office hours. One on One he is much better than in lecture. To the previous reviewer, Is your employeer going to have to hold your hand too? Take some responsibility for your own education.
