Lang, Martin  

Dr. Lang is your average math instructor. He explained concepts reasonably well and was always ready and willing to help students during office hours.

He always explains concepts, which can sometimes get confusing, but is usually clear.

Lang is a pretty good instructor. He does grade hard on homework, but his lectures are fairly understandable and he's a nice guy.

Dr. Lang is a decent teacher but does go pretty fast and many studetns are often "left in the dust" so to speak. He seems unapproachable as far as one on one help. His tests are basically pretty reasonable, if you study for like 1 1/2 to 2 hours a night depending on your personal learning speed. The final is pretty tough. Quizzes are fine as long as you do all the homework when you're supposed to. The homework is graded (harshly), so take it really seriously because it can mean the difference of a whole grade sometimes. Very hard to get full credit on homework. I am sure there are much better teachers for calculus, but then again i know of some worse ones. I'd say he is somewhere in the middle but would be significanlty better is not for the homework grades.

He grades HARD!

He is very good at the material, HE knows it well. So he zips through things pretty fast sometimes. A little confusing, but overall, not a bad teacher.

Good teacher.

Lang breezes through the material treating it more as review than as something his students are learning for the first time. I learned very little in his class and he did not seem to care if much of the class was not understanding what he was doing. I will never take one of his classes again.

Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.
