Dr. Kellerman seems like a well educated man, distinguished in his fields of study. But, because a teacher knows much does not necessarily mean that he can present course material clearly. I was confused on his explanations on simple covalent bonds and electron configurations, merely because he would say something and contradict himself in the next minute. I'm sure he doesn't mean to do that, but his ability to present course material clearly is lacking. You better read your book for this course, because he basically summarizes the reading in just about every lecture.

This guy's not the best teacher in the world- the homework assignments are difficult because he doesn't cover the material in class well enough. Tests are reasonable, and he drops the lowest score. Don't expect a good answer to your question- he has a tendancy to tip toe around the answer. I think he knows a lot of chemistry but isn't very effective in passing that knowledge on to students. O, and he wears the same streched, old, faded blue sweater to every class.

Dr. Kellerman is a fair lab instructor. His lab quizzes are fairly straight foward, and his help in lab is about average. My only quibble with him is that he'll go through the entire lab's procedures during the first hour, which can be very very boring. If you are competent in chem, then feel free to take Kellerman as a lab prof. If you seriously need help, or like one on one instruction in lab, then maybe consider taking someone else.

Mr. Kellerman (Marty) is a funny old guy. He knows what he is talking about and will always help you in lab with any questions you have. Sometimes he (re)teaches some of the material you have already learned in the lecture but in a different way which is helpful... or confusing for myself. Oh ya, his tests are incredibly hard so if you have the class later in the week be sure to find someone in the earlier class. Despite his grumpy exterior Marty loves to joke around. So have a good time in lab, meet in the hallway before class to "check the lab" with classmates, and study like mad before a test.

Dr. Kellerman is a difficult professor to have. He is not as helpful with the material presented during the lab, and is even less helpful with questions presented in lab. Out side of the lab, during office hours he is more helpful one on one.

Kellerman's class was definately one of the most unenjoyable classes I've taken. Lab usually started by wasting the first hour of class talking about concepts and procedures that are already written down in your lab packets. The way that Kellerman grades labs and quizzes is ridiculous. For example, he will only recognize one right answer when there is clearly a couple of possible answers (even if the right answer was not gone over and makes no sense). Sometimes I just couldn't understand what he was thinking. This man definately needs to retire now! Try to avoid Kellerman if you can.

He isn't as bad as everyone makes him sound. Sometimes it seems like he doesn't know what he is talking about, though. You are also going to end up spending longer than you should in the lab since he talks about things for too long that don't really help you get an essence of what you are doing. I wouldn't take him as a first choice by all means, but don't worry if you have him, he isn't too bad.

Professor Kellerman really needs to consider retirement. He is much to old and tired to be teaching a college class. His lectures short. He spends about half the time doing the same examples that are in the book. I believe the Kellerman was probably a very sharp man when he was younger, but those days are long gone. He actually forgot that we had a midterm once, so he had to delay it. If you can avoid professor Kellerman, do it. He is a terrible teacher.

This guy doesn't have a clue that we don't understand everything already. He thinks the class is more advanced than it really is, and therefore doesn't do a very good job of presenting new material. Towards the end of the quarter he wised up some and realizing most of the class was failing. He did some massive adjusting and the class turned out to be almost fair in the grading. He is completely willing to help in office hours, but one should not have to go to office hours after every class just to straighten out his lectures. Nice guy, just not so good teaching.

I have no doubt in my mind that Professor Kellerman is extremely educated, he just isn't so great at passing that knowledge on to his students. You really need to learn by the book for this class. He did an unbelievable amount of readjusting to try and help out the students which is nice, but shouldn't be necessary (I have NEVER heard of teachers actually dropping lowest midterms)! He's a nice guy, but you really need to teach yourself. Oh, be prepared for a lot of conceptual test questions.

Easily the single worst teacher ever to step up to the chalkboard. They say the older the wiser but I think he is past his prime. He is slightly senile and seems to hit on all of the boys in the class, so ladies beware, he may go for you man!

Dr. Kellerman seemed to know what he was talking about, but he did not have a good way of explaining it. He has really strict lab write-up policies which got to be really tedious by the end of the quarter. He gave three quizzes that weren't hard at all. He tended to skip over the most important part of the lab instructions and wasn't very helpful with questions or problems during the lab. He wasn't a bad instructor...but wasn't very good either.

Professor Kellerman is VERY complete in his lab directions. He will talk for almost the full hour of lab! It can get very boring. There are two tests but the lowest one is dropped. I would recommend taking him!
