Vaughan is very nice and understanding. The topic is difficult and so are her tests due to the fill in the blank sections. I studied for most of her tests and received a C.

What an awesome professor. Labs are sooooo much fun, especially in spring quarter. There are sort of pop quizzes that usually are of pretty low value that add up over quarter. First midterm was a little challenging, but the class averaged in the high 70s. Final was pretty good if you recognize the patterns in soil taxonomy. Overall a great class that you shouldn't feel overwhelmed in at all!

Was a great professor, too bad she moved to Wyoming. The NRES department and SS/ERSC major needs more professors like her.

I'm pretty sure this is one of her first quarters teaching at Poly, and it is her first time teaching the wetlands class so there were a few times when it was obvious she was still figuring it out, but it wasn't bad at all. The labs were interesting and fun, and I learned a lot about the local wetlands around SLO. The class consisted of a plant collection, research paper/short presentation, a midterm and a final. Lectures went by quickly and we almost always got out of lab early which was a plus. Dr. Vaughan is a really nice lady and very approachable and willing to help if you ever have questions, which is a trait hard to find in many professors at Poly. I would definitely recommend taking her class.
