Professor Iqbal is a really sweet man. His tests were fair and accurately reflected the course's content. The only problem with the class is that he requires attendance and makes it a huge part of your grade. He spends plenty of time teaching and making sure everyone understands but he is rather boring.

First off, Iqbal's a great guy with a lot of knowledge in the field of accounting, so if you're an accounting concentration and/or really wanna learn...TAKE HIM. He keeps a slow, steady pace as he tries to make sure everyone gets the concept. He encourages people to ask questions and will gladly answer them on the spot...no BS. The workload is minimal. OK, now the cons...his attendace policy is a BITCH! You lose 10 points for every unexcused absense (and 2 tardies = one absense). It doesn't sound like much, but there's only 330 points total in the class. Secondly, he will ask some VERY detailed questions on his tests, so make sure you READ the book (or at least the key concepts) and FULLY understand them. Also, try not to fall asleep, as this class is BORING AS HELL (not totally his fault though).

Professor Iqbal is an excellent teacher who is funny and easy to have discussions with. I really enjoyed going to his class, and am glad that accounting is my concentration now. Sometimes he will just start to laugh in the middle of class for like no reason at all, but that actually broke the monotony of a two-hour class. His tests are fair, and he will not test anything that he hasn't gone over, so there are no surprises. He also awards perfect attendance and presents the material in a concise, structured way that probably makes an A easy to get, but a C hard. If you ever get any handouts on current events, you should study those for the test too.

This guy is great. He really cares about his students and covers the material extremely slow so that everyone understands. Because of this, you don't cover half as much material as should be covered in the class. His tests are fairly easy. It's good to read the text because he tests out of it, but you could get by with just listening during lecture. Also, he cares a lot about attendance so don't take him if you don't like to go to class. Otherwise, I totally recommend him and I enjoyed his crazy sense of humor. He is so cute, he reminds me of a turtle. Believe, he will make you laugh (especially when he laughs at his own jokes).

Iqbal is a very nice and friendly professor. However this class shouldn't be all that hard but he makes his tests so meticulous its hard to get a good grade. You need to know everything and all the little details. There isn't a whole lot of work, but don't let that confuse you cause the tests are freaking difficult.

Horrible. Thick accent to the point of not understanding what is happening. Hard tests. Attendance is a must or else you have to fill out a paper to excuse your absence. Boring. Practically all of the students fell asleep in class. He is not good at all and is not approachable. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM!!

His accent is tough to deal with, but he's a nice guy, and if you put in the effort, you'll get good results back from it. If you're a slacker looking for an easy A, this is NOT the way to go. My biggest problem with him is that he will NEVER let you out early.

Iqbal is a nice man who knows a lot about accounting, however, he lacks the ability to teach. He talks extremely slow and makes you sit through the full 2 hours. I'm not joking. He takes attendance everyday and if he lets you out 30 seconds early, you are lucky. Don't be fooled if you take this class. His lectures make everything seem retarded and too easy to study, so you end up not studying until the night before the exam and realizing that the information is impossible. I was going to be an accounting major, but this guy makes me want to switch. If you can take Debbie Wacker, she is seriously the best teacher I've ever experienced.

This accounting class was harder than it needed to be. His lectures aren't too helpful but I would recommend attending them all anyway (You have to anyway to turn in homework). His tests cover a lot of conceptual material directly from the book but don't have a great deal of actual accounting problems (The final was a multiple choice scantron with not one accounting problem!?). This caused me a great deal of difficulty at first but once you know what to expect its not that hard to adapt. I would only recommend taking this professor if all other sections are full and you need to complete the class soon. Be prepared to learn directly from the book and it is almost impossible to get better than a B in this class.

He was a top-notch prof and expert on accounting. But he was a real good teacher because he went over the material, asking the class if everyone understood, and not continuing until everybody knew what was going on. Not many other profs take this, "go slow, they haven't been doing it for 20 years" approach.

Iqbal is such a nut! He lays out the material very dry, but complete, and it's sooo funny to watch him tell his jokes, then laugh at himself! I am currently in another class with him, so this makes 3 total, and I would recommend him as a professor to anyone. The material can get boring sometimes, but in actuality, he is a very good professor in that he gets the material across, and doesn't move on to new stuff until he knows everyone is on the same page. I think the best thing I like about him is the fact that he cares about whether or not you really understand the material...he's definitely not one of those instructors that is simply out to get you!

He is a good teacher, test are fair, and curves the class a bit. It is, as most have said, very boring. However, Adv Manag. Acct is a Very boring subject. All in all, it is painfully easy. Study, practice, you will do fine. He is a really nice guy and very smart and really likes what he does. He is organized and clear. His only downfall is that he NEVER EVER EVER EVER will let you go a minute early...but whatever, after all, thats what we came here for right?

This was the most boring class ever. You have to attend class. The book for the class is exactly the same order as the notes. I managed an A because I took notes and then read them in detail out of the book. Again this class was boring. If you mess up on the test there is no use arguing for points because he will only laugh at you. My friend got screwed twice because of small mistakes that he didn't get any points for. For the most part its not hard to tell whats going to be on the tests. Again I warn you of how boring this class is. By the way he does a John Wayne imperssonation that you must see, but he only does it if the class bugs him about it for a couple of weeks. It will make the class worth it.

Okay, Professor Iqbal is a really nice guy and the class material seems to be fairly straight up. However, his exams are the hardest that I've ever taken. Majority of the kids sitting around me got F's and D's. I got lucky that I passed the class but I knew a lot of people who were not as fortunate. The trick is to fucking memorize the text. Tiny little details will be on the exams. Don't bother with the in-class materials because they are all in the book. Read read read and read again. There is my hot tip. Oh also, he will usually put a few homework problems on the exam, so if you study those that will help.

Iqbal assigns massive amounts of busywork. He will tell you something is on the test even when it is isn't just to get you to study it. He takes role every day, even at the graduate level. Additionally, he makes you do every homework assignment, because you never know when he's going to collect it. He also gives unannounced quizzes. Overall, he's not a bad guy, but his ways of teaching aren't the best. You also better get ahold of his thick accent fast or you'll be lost after day one.

What the guy/gal below said. Amen. I too took this class and have long since graduated from Poly, but I was cruising Poly Ratings for a kick and thought that I should pipe in and let you know how much of a joke this prof is.
