Melinda was a great professor for the floral design class. She runs her own floral business and is therefore always up to date on the current floral trends and new design options. She is always thrilled to come to class and show new techniques not only for the floral world but other daily applications as well. Students usually bring home 2 arrangements per week with 4 hours of lab each week and 1 hour of lecture. The class consists of daily attendance, one arrangement midterm with a short paper, 1 lecture midterm, and a final arrangement with a paper and one lecture final. If you have the chance to take this class as a free elective, do it. It is a fun class if you need to take a break from the stress of everything else.

I love Melinda. She is amazing, energetic and fun. I have learned alot of design principles from her through her classes. But she also teaches you sales and marketing skills. The skills you gain in this class extend throughout many parts of your life that has nothing to do with flowers. I love this class and I hope you get a chance to take this class from her. She is amazing and is sharing her passion and love of design in every class she teaches.

Love Melinda and love this class. She is the best teacher at poly and I absolutely loved her classes. Everyone should take this class while at poly or atleast the intro one.

Melinda is a very knowledgeable professor, however she is a florist not an educator. She plays favorites in her class and she doesn't care if certain students use last years projects for this quarter. Melinda is rude, and insensitive, she does not like to be asked questions because she feels you are challenging her. I enjoyed the class because i love floral, however i really dislike Melinda's demeanor, attitude, and she is a poor role model.
