Professor Miller was a great teacher overall. Grading was fair (points distributed between speech notes, speeches, reflective essays and tests). She can be a bit rough on the speech grading, but also forgiving when you are sick or have other issues. The tests are questions from the book, and easy enough to get above a B on if you read the summaries in the book. Only work load comes from preparing your speech, the reflective essays after each speech are only half a page long. About 5 lectures throughout the year (of which were a bit slow), but what do you expect for a lecture from the book? Really sweet and nice lady as well, always walked in smiling and glads to see us all there.

Miller is not the greatest teacher, but she's not the worst either. I was sick most of the quarter and she really took it into consideration. She let me slide all the time. She's a really sweet lady. Her grading is pretty rough… for a coms class. But the class is passable. If you get stuck with her its not a big deal. I'd rather take her than other coms teachers. Speeches every other week, and then a 275 word self critique on each. Super easy work, this is where you redeem yourself if your speech sucked

What the guy/gal below said. Amen. I too took this class and have long since graduated from Poly, but I was cruising Poly Ratings for a kick and thought that I should pipe in and let you know how much of a joke this prof is.
