Easy A if you go to class and try on the projects. You have to make a couple different sculptures throughout the quarter, and they really are not very difficult. Just don't save it all for right before the project is due. She will try to analyze your sculpture WAY more than you think she would. Pretty much just show up to class and actually work during the scheduled time and you shouldn't have to do any work outside of class.

The class is not only fairly easy if you go to class, but it is also fun. She really is passionate about what she does and also helps a student whenever they might need help (it was kind of funny seeing her use power tools). Showing up to class is the best thing you can do in order to ensure an A in the class. Think about your projects before you start them... a lot! You have the class for 6 hours a week, so getting an idea and getting the actual project done is pretty easy with this much time. Overall, she is a great teacher.

Overall, a good GE. She is very passionate about art and does her best to make sure you are too. Definitely plan ahead and prepare for discussion. She always has something to add or emphasize and she also always wants you to do a bit more than you present. You do have to present in front of the class a few times and know what you're talking about. Diana always has more than enough commentary to supply. Always. Do attend each class though.

I thought that i was going to love this class, but it was the class that i dreaded the most every week. I am an artistic student and hated how this class was run. She never really stayed on pace and her projects were too broad for my liking. Just glad that i got it over with.

DP is an awesome art professor. Intermedia is the kind of class where assignments become arbitrary because you can kind of put your own spin/perspective on all projects..and DP totally recognizes this and encourages it. If you are inventive, innovative and creative then you will totally be in your element in her class. The class doesn't have a lot of lecture, its mostly just conceptual idea development and the actual making of your sculptures/installations/performances for the quarter. she's pretty brand new to Cal Poly, so she's still totally into teaching and she's from New York so she has a lot to offer in terms of understanding how the art world works and she has seen a shit ton of contemporary work in galleries that actually matter. She may not have all the answers but she will definitely do her best to help you in any way. If you're serious about art, DP is a great resource and help to your education in slo.
