This teacher was pretty hard however I got by with a decent grade, without doing much homework. Though she explains things very well. Her tests are pretty hard but manageable. I would say if you are willing to do the homework and study quite alot , which I wasn't cause I had harder classes, then it shouldn't be too hard to get a B. She is really nice and willing to check if you have questions and sends emails answering questions she couldn't answer in class!! She is a friendly person if you like chemistry a lot and have to take higher levels of chem I would take her. My only regret is not going to office hours... her office hours were right after her 7 am classes when I had her class.

Dr. Jordanides struggles in presenting information in a coherent, easy to learn way. She loves to grade really hard and to make extremely difficult tests. When asked a question in lecture, she just simply repeats your question back to you, trails off, and moves on. She is just as difficult and unhelpful in office hours. She also teaches lab. Avoid her at all costs! She is nice and tries to be funny, but she is hopeless in teaching.

I completely agree with the last review. This teacher really struggles to understand where students are coming from, and gives you study guides that are almost NO WHERE near relevant to the actual test. If you get this teacher and she says that something will not be on the test, DO NOT BELIEVE HER. Almost study EVERYTHING. The funny thing is, is she blames us for our bad grades. Avoid her if you can. Oh and also, if you like to be treated like a high schooler, then take her class. Although the lecture is around 100 people, she will not hesitate to call you out in front of everyone if you are late, or anything. YES, she is one of those type of teachers. she sucks just take someone else.

Dr. Jordanides is an amazing professor. Her passion for teaching is clearly evident and the course material is presented in a very clear and organized fashion. She emphasizes the important concepts with real-life examples to make them easier to understand. I have attended office hours twice and both times she was very helpful and compassionate. I love Dr. Jordanides, she ROCKS!

the person below probably thought the teacher could track what they said about her. so disregard completely. i almost feel bad for saying this but the teacher just fails at teaching this course. out of your own sanity and course grade, take someone else. you will not regret it.

This teacher is new, but she is a good teacher. She gives three midterms and a final. Plus there is NO homework but she assigns some if you want to do it for help. If you fail a midterm she lets you do make up questions to help raise your grade. She curves all the quizzes and midterms so your overall grade goes up a lot. She is super helpful in office hours, and gets back to her students about things really fast. She constantly emails the class, and tries to bring in presentations for the class to see in either lab or lecture. I think she is a good teacher and I would recommend taking her, but you do have to actually study and TRY to understand chemistry then you will pass the class.

Dr. Jordanides is a good professor. Her material is difficult nobody should kid themselves on that but she is extremely helpful if you go to her office hours. Most of her questions on exams and quizzes come from two sources either the hw she encourages her students to do or her lecture/ home practice problems on her lecture slides. Yes she is one of those teachers that is very helpful and uploads the lecture even if it does take more effort to do that. She goes a bit fast on lectures but you can always go over the notes after class or ask her about something you didnt understand in office hours. You can also read the chapters she assigns for reading as a helpful guide it clears up some questions you may have.

Dr. J is not a good teacher. Avoid her at all costs. Yes, she curves the grades but she cannot teach it, so everyone fails it and she doesnt prepare you for the next class of the series (128)

People who rated her bad just didn't do the homework and blatantly blame Dr. K for their failure. DO THE HOMEWORK LIKE SHE TELLS YOU TO DO; yes, even if it's just optional. The questions from her quizzes and midterms come from the homework, the occasional extra-practice worksheets she puts up, and lecture questions (the questions on her powerpoints during the lecture). Although I am not a fan of her powerpoints, she is extremely helpful if you go to her during office hours (she gets straight to the point unlike other professors) and gives you the answers/explanations. People don't understand that, from the beginning of the course, she tells you it's a difficult class and you have to put your own effort into it. People who are complaining/failing are those wanna-be doctors who were thankfully "weeded" out.

Like the last person said, anyone who is complaining about Dr. J being a terrible teacher obviously didn't do the work she suggested or go to office hours for extra help. There is a lot of material to be covered, which is why she moves through the lectures so fast. If you actually do the worksheets, lecture questions, and homework questions, this class is completely managable. College Chemistry classes require you to do work outside of the classroom to understand the material.

The class was challenging. There were lots of material that needed to be covered in a short amount of time. She is very nice, but she goes through the lectures extremely quickly. She covers multiple topics in one lecture and she tends to switch topics pretty quickly. She would ask iclicker questions from time to time but they are not graded. The midterms and final was pretty challenging. Her office hours are usually pretty helpful.

She is fine. The class is hard. I think she is probably a much better 129 teacher, at times I got the impression that she assumed we knew more than we did (i hadnt taken chem since sophomore year of highschool). She also gets super frustrated from students and you can read it like a book. She tries to stay calm and nice, but during lab, she often just dismissed issues in order to avoid confusion. Her face also twitches a lot. The tests are pretty hard, but it is curved and if you're decent at math and understanding chemistry its fine.

This was a hard class, there was a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time. I think Dr. Jordanides did a good job of breaking down the difficult concepts and presenting them in a coherent way. Her office hours were very helpful, she really cared about teaching the material. Dr. J is great and I would definately recommend her class.

Dr. J is incredibly sweet! Her lectures are very dense and her tests are by no mean easy, but that is Chem 127. I had her first quarter and lecture was a little confusing at some points because the slides would get a little mixed up, but i'm sure that has all been worked out. You cover a ton of material and that is just how it is. If you haven't had Chem before, or it's been a while I would definitely try to freshen up your skills. The class moves quick and you have to be ready and with her or you will get lost. Dr. J is very good at explaining labs, but they will most likely take the full three hours. She fits the class to a normal curve at the end of the quarter. Like I said, she is very sweet :) Good Luck!

Do not get Jordanides as a lab professor. She is the most anal lab instructor ever! The lab report are a major part of your grade, but expect to lose 40% for incorrect sig figs and "accuracy" meaning experimental error. She even took a point off because I didn't use a "creative" title for my graph. Also, her lab quizzes are very specific, so make sure you read the pre-lab very thoroughly. Avoid her if you can!

Jordanides was alright. She was helpful with labs yet super picky on the grading. My complaint is her lab quizzes and final: they are impossible and she requires you to memorize every single step and corresponding equation for each test you ever do in Quantitative Analysis. Ridiculous
