Professor Woolley's class was not difficult. There are four speeches in total. The first is 4-5 mins, the second is 5-6 mins, the third is 6-7 mins, and the fourth is 7-8 mins. In all honesty, time is not the issue and is fairly easy to actually go over time when giving your speech. Grading wise, the first speech is easy. Nearly everyone was given an A. As the There is a 30 second cushion (plus or minus) on all speeches. So if a speech needs to be 5 mins, no deductions will occur if you hit 4:30. As the speeches progress, the grading gets a little tougher, but not bad at ALL. The downfall to the class is that there are about 4 or 5 quizzes that you take based off the lecture and the readings in the book. This is why I earned a B. These quizzes were only 5 points each, and because are only out of 5 points can kind of determine an A or B in the class. I got alot of 2/5 on my quizzes by not reading lol. I got an A on all the speeches except the last one, which I got an 89% and still got a B in the class. The final is cake and will take about 25 mins. It's just a compilation of all the quiz questions. She goes over the answers to the quizzes right after the quizzes are handed in. Don't be frightened by the outlines and bibliographies. Its soo easy. Just copy her format and use noodlebib. cake. Breakdown: Speeches (4): 40% total (10% each) Outlines & Bibliographies (4): 20% (5% each) Peer Critiques (3): 10% Final Exam: 20% Quizzes & In-class exercises: 10% Overall, its an easy, easy B. But for an A you should probably read.

Very basic COMS 101 teacher. Fair grading policy; just follow her guidelines for everything she assigns and you'll be set. Doesn't really stand out in any which way, but she's a great teacher to take for this fairly basic class. I would highly recommend taking her if you have the chance.

Dr. Woolley was a great teacher. While the content was fairly cut and dried and by no means anything thrilling, she did a good job of keeping lectures light. She has a sweet personality, and is very understanding and accommodating of any difficulties you are having. The grading policies for the class are extremely fair, with the grading criteria for every speech very clearly and explicitly laid out in advance. She would be a great teacher to take if you are not particularly good at public speaking and want to take a class with a relaxed atmosphere and a teacher who genuinely seems to care about your improvement.

This class was a joke. Maybe because it was her first time teaching it but it was clear she didn't have a deep understanding of the material and just regurgitated from the book. If you just do the work pretty easy to get an A-.

Do not take this class! Its an easy course and not hard to do well. However, the professor felt the need to talk about how women are sexualized in every way. She also would let students ramble and repeat the same information multiple times and not end the discussion when it needed to be. Tests are stupid easy and the final is online. You can get away with skipping lectures and pointless discussions she holds and still pass with flying colors.

Professor Woolley is new to the COMS department but she does a pretty good job with her classes (419 & 312). Her lectures are straight from the slides but it's pretty clear what you need to know for her tests. Overall, she's refreshing because she's not yet discouraged or downtrodden as a teacher

Woolley is an awesome new asset to the Coms department! She incorporates the current, relevant issues pertinent to the discipline of Communication, and presents it in a very well-structured manner. The textbook had recent studies and the readings were all pretty interesting. This class was straight-forward yet interesting.

Woolley structures her class so that the student can and will succeed if they attend and put in the work. Her lectures are very straight-foward and interesting, and her passion for the subject is clear. She has forums, tests, and classroom activities which all apply to your grade fairly. Her study guides are very helpful for the tests too.

She is so sweet and an amazing teacher! Woolley knows exactly what she is talking about...so knowledgeable. All the material is presented clearly. The tests are straight forward and the material is so interesting. We need more media classes in our major!!!!

Woolley is an excellent professor. She is kind, amiable, and fun. She IS young, and new to teaching, so she can be a bit of a bore. Her classes consist of lectures which are exactly the same as the required readings, so, often, her classes are pretty easy to do well in: just pay attention to the lectures, post on the blogs, and come to class 75% of the time. She's always willing to provide extra time towards students with difficulties, and always willing to mold her courses around the students in each class. After having had her for the past couple years, I am impressed with how much she's grown as a professor, and how deeply her students like her. I truly adore her.

This class is extremely easy. Woolley is very kind and knowledgeable, but doesn't really challenge her students. You can get away with not reading the book as long as you come to every class. However, the book is interesting and will probably make you more engaged in class. The exams are easy and straightforward because her study guides are clear and detailed. The topics are interesting but sometimes lectures can be boring because she moves slow through the topics. Overall Woolley is great, you will learn a lot in this class, it may be boring at times, you'll get an A if: you show up, do all the homework, and study according to the study guide.
