I believe Professor Reyes is new to teaching at this school, but he has proven himself more than capable of teaching this difficult material. He has an accent, but it's nothing you can't get used to. His office hours are extremely helpful and he is very approachable with questions. He gives out weekly reading quizzes to make sure you stay on top of the reading, as well as his own homework problems. His quizzes are basically one question from his homework, and one question of recommended problems. There is only one midterm, so be warned on that. Overall, a great physics teacher that makes sense, and makes physics fun. Learned a great deal from him, and would recommend to anyone.

Luis is a G. Phys 133 was super unintuitive for me, but he did his best to present the material clearly and showed us the concepts with live demonstrations. It was obvious he really wanted us to understand the material and do well in the class. Nice and fair teacher. Definitely recommend.

Not bad at all! Reyes shows a lot of passion in this aspect of physics (electrostatics/dynamics applications) and is extremely organized, particularly in Polylearn. There are weekly homework assignments + quizzes that are not too bad (If you join a study session homework is a breeze) (Reyes frequently mentions at least one exact problem that'll show up on the quiz). He then posts solutions to each quiz and assignment afterwards for study material. What definitely tripped up a bunch of people I knew in the class was that there was only one midterm, meaning that it took a lot of work to recover from failing, especially by the fact that the final exam was surprisingly more difficult than the midterm. Nonetheless, Reyes provides study guides for both, if you understand the questions, this class won't be hard. Feel good that you got this teacher despite the PHYS department making it completely random. RIP TUPAC, BIGGIE SMALL.

Reyes is by far the best Physics professor I have had! He is so approachable and willing to help students. And he truly knows what he's talking about. He's just a great professor all around and I would highly recommend him.

He assigns reading quizzes due every Monday (5-8 multiple choice questions based off the book), homework due every Friday, and a quiz every Friday. He usually says what 1 of the 2 problems on each quiz will be, or tells us which concepts they will test. There is only one midterm, but if you use his review guide it's very similar. He's great in office hours and will help you with whatever you need without making you feel like an idiot. Overall great teacher, would take again

Reyes was the best teacher I had for the physics series. His lectures were really helpful, and he made the difficult subject a little easier to understand. Clarity in physics is always something to struggle with, but he definitely lectured in a way that made this oftentimes abstract subject make sense. He did tons of examples in class that were relevant to both his assigned and optional homework. There is only one midterm, but if you study for it and do all of the homework it's not bad at all. That being said, if you don't prepare, there is only one and it is the biggest individual part of your grade besides the final. He has weekly quizzes, but if you pay attention in class they aren't too bad. He also gives you a hint of what at least one question will be. A couple times he straight up told us what was on it. He does have a little accent, but nothing that you can't understand. He is really helpful in office hours. If you ever are confused or need extra help with his tricky homework (15% of the grade), then go in to office hours. Everything will make sense and he'll walk you through the homework. Super helpful. He wants you to do well, but he also wants you to work at it. He always did his best to make things clear and help his students get excited about physics. He made me interested to learn electromagnetism.

Reyes is a good guy. He really cares about his class as any professor should. Electromagnetism was something I dreaded taking for a while because it just didn't interest me. But with his demos and real life applications I now realize its importance and actually enjoyed E&M. If you have the chance, take him. One thing I disliked was that he only had one midterm, but it's ok, just don't blow it off. The lab that went along with the class was fairly easy and should only help your grade.A

Yes he explains things very well, but his course in 133 seems to be very different than all the other professors. His class for 133 is all about deriving and integrating equations, instead of actually using the equations for problems. Not the easiest professor to take for physics 133

Not only can you not understand him, but he grades unfairly and is terrible in office hours. He needs to be deported plain and simple.

This professor has a chip on his shoulder toward Americans. He needs to grow up or go back to where he is from, waste of money and time for students, teachers and parents. I thought this was a college of higher learning?

Dr. Reyes is by far the best physics teacher I've had here. His lectures are rarely boring, and always very informative, he does a really good job presenting the material. Don't get me wrong though, PHYS 133 is a hard class, and he expects a lot from his students. He assigns a reading quiz every monday, HW is due on wednesday, and quizzes are on friday. I liked this structure because I always had a steady stream of work, which kept me engaged in the class and material, but it was in no way an easy A kind of class. Overall, I would highly recommend him.

I thought Dr. Reyes was an excellent teacher and a very decent guy. He presented material clearly and explained even difficult E and M concepts very well. His tests were fair and they followed the study guides closely. He gives generous partial credit if it is clear you know what you are doing. Lab work and homework was graded harshly and was a large part of the grade. I had an 8am so the class wasn't very lively but some days he made it interesting. He does say 'like' a lot but he is a solid professor and I would recommend him.
