William Horst... what can I say about this man. He hears voices in his head, talks to himself before class, and loves to tell his students how they are going to hate his class. If you get past that stuff like i did then his class is actually a lot of fun and William's constant pessimistic ramblings are actually in a strange way hilarious. I highly recommend Horst if you already have had previous Physics experience because he rushes through easy/boring material and doesnt care how you solve your problems on the tests like other professors do, you can do the problems your own way and he'll figure out how to give partial credit if any is due. He will not lie to you, his tests are straight from examples done in class, so learn the process to doing those examples and be ready for an occasional change up where he asks to solve for a different variable or to include friction. Really thought i did well enough on the final to pull off the A- in the class, but ended up with a B+, not too bummed about that though. Never expect any curves.

If you take Horton for lab, be prepared to figure things out for yourself. If you decide to ask him for help, he speaks down to you, as if you're an idiot.

My lab partner got an A while he gave me a B. Our work contribution was equivalent and, to my knowledge, I didn't do too bad on the final. Everyone's right about him though. He's a tenured professor and doesn't give a damn about anybody and the way he teaches. If he's the only person teaching a particular course, try to skip it and take something else; like a GE or something.

Horton is terrible. His lectures dont teach anything. Fact: In our section a dude who didnt even go to class got the exact same grade we did. His solutions are riddled with all kinds of mistakes. His quizzes and final are open book (there are no midterms best 3/4 quizzes=60% final =40%) and you'll need it. He always puts some kind of dirty trick in them that he never taught you and wasnt in the hwk i.e. completing the square, delta convoluted with anything disappears etc.. He deserves his low polyrating and he should be forever banished.

Prof W. HOR(e)ton, is by far the worst teacher I have ever had in this school. He goes on and on in class about nonsense. His quizzes are nothing like the homework he assigns. Students are better off not attending class and trying to struggle through the book to take his quizzes that are worth 60% of the class. His notes do not teach anything, he is a terrible person for partial credit. If you are on the right track on a problem, he'll give you 1 pt out of 10. If you get it completely wrong you can get 5 pts out of 10. Forget this horrible teacher even if you have to wait another year to take it.

Horton is one of the worst professors i've ever had. His lectures are boring and they don't really prepare you for the quizzes or help you solve homework problems. Horton is just an old fart who lectures about stuff nobody understands and won't care if anybody doesn't. Quizzes count 60% of your grade and the Final is 40%. At the end of the quarter, my quiz score was lower than what i thought i got and when i questioned him why, i found out he lost my first quiz! I wish i listened to the ratings prior to taking him but i found out firsthand how sorry this teacher really is.

Professor Horton really doesn't know how to run a class. He spends the entire lecture time facing the board just reambling off equations and doing the examples from the book. Your grade is based on 4 quizzes (dropping your lowest score) and the final. Note: he doesn't collect homework, which is good, because it has nothing to do with the quizzes anyway. The quizzes are just questions he made up and expects us to know.

Professor Horton is a tenured profesor. HE DOES NOT GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT HIS CLASSES!! He only teaches one or two quarters a year. I didn't learn anything in his class all quarter. It is a waste of time going to his class and he is boring as hell. He doesn't answer questions well and talks to you like you are an idiot. My friend who got a B said he had no idea how he got a B because he didn't know shit. Everyone does shitty on his incredibly hard tests. Do not take Horton, take Nafisi if you can. That's who I will take when I retake the class.

Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.
