I honestly don't know why some people are ripping on the Dez-Man. He is just a really cool guy. I thought he taught this lab pretty well even though the material is pretty intimidating. His office hours are really useful and helped clarify a lot of the things that I was unsure about. Plus he tried to make every lab as fun and interesting as possible. I had never even taken high school physics prior to this class but Desmond made it bearable and helped address any questions we had. Bottom line, he's a lot better than what some of these reviews make him out to be.

treats his students like shit. Only grades one lab report then lets the rest pile up until the very last week so you don't know what you can correct until its too late.

I don't know what the other two guys below me are smoking but my experience was quite the opposite. Very helpful in lab and office hours even though the experiments themselves were pretty boring.

Hes an OKAY lab instructor. I wish we had a real professor that new the material better than he did. His answers to questions were a horrible attempt at providing the tools to figure it out yourself. He does act like he knows quite a bit of stuff, but its all talk. When confronted with an actual application situation hes a dud.

I Had my mind set on being an EE and got an A in the course but desmond took away the thrill. He doesnt make it interesting. The lab is boring and he thinks he did a great job lecturing when in reality he has given little direction leaving several students lost. Asking a question turns into a conversation on how important it is without any help in how to solve any problem.

Desmond taught this class quite well. As a mechanical engineering major I'm not really into EE stuff at all, but he made the lab bearable and easy to understand. Office hours are a great way to get your questions answered too

Hes an easy A (everyone gets an A) but a horrible professor. Cal poly is really getting their monies worth, but the students aren't. He thinks too much of himself and needs an ego makeover.

Hasn't assigned a single homework assignment yet! His lesson strategy is a little odd, though; instead of lecturing, professor Talkington sits quietly in the back while some other guy talks the whole time. It's weird, but I'm doing well so I guess I can't complain.
