Her class is pretty straight forward; tests every other week and homework due once a week. The class averages were low on quizzes but they were easy if you really did your homework. I expect to receive an A or B in the class so this is not a vengeful review to make myself feel better but Professor Jansen simply did not know the material well enough to present it. It is rare for professor jansen to get through an example without making a mistake. These mistakes are not the kind where she forgot to add a negative sign, or miscopied her notes; these are fundamental errors which cause me to doubt her knowledge. On top of that, when the class asks questions about fundamental concepts she rarely has an adequate response. She usually replies with something like "ya know, that's a really 'sciency' question that doesn't matter for this class." To put things in context, there was one lecture where more than a dozen students literally walked out when she fumbled over finding the centroid of a composite body of two rectangles. While I'm sure Professor Jansen was a good engineer in the field, she is not a qualified professor.
