I really liked Madame Kelly. She can be a little spacey at times but overall, she is super sweet. Her quizzes and midterms are reasonable. She can be quite forgetful and she has quite the sense of humor. Take Madame Kelly for any French class! :)

Having Kelly was an interesting experience. She had just switched to using an online workbook and didn't really know how to work it, so at the beginning of the quarter a lot of time was spend with her trying to explain it to us. I really enjoyed her teaching though. She did a lot of repetition and used a lot of pictures instead of just making us do writing activities. Her quizzes are easy if you go to class and study the material. I would love to take her again for 102. She is kind of a scatter brain, but she knows it. If something gets lost she is very approachable and willing to help you out.

Hmmmm. It is hard to pinpoint what I want to say about Professor Kelly. There are positives and negatives to her class. She's a nice lady and she tries hard to make her class interesting, and genuinely wants her students to learn. Her tests and quizzes are very easy (and I've never taken French previously), so that's really nice if you're worried about grades. However, if you actually really want to learn French, which I do, this class is kind of frustrating. I feel like I'm memorizing concepts purely for the tests and forget them as soon as it's over, and that I still don't have any working knowledge of French enough to speak or write it, let alone hold up a conversation.

Prof Kelly knows the subject matter quite well, but since this was an intermediate class, her fluency and her ability to think en français on her feet is quite subpar. She is a nice lady, and she does care for us, but sometimes she just confuses herself and has to take time to think before teaching us something. She makes a decent amount of mistakes when writing and is constantly correcting her French. She would do quite well teaching FR 101 and maybe 102.

I had Madame Kelly for 103, so I was comfortable with her teaching style before the class started. She is very sweet and has taught in Paris, so she knows French well. She is a little spacey and has a hard time motivating the class to speak sometimes, but she genuinely tries her hardest. Tests and quizzes are super reasonable. She doesn't penalize you for missing accents or anything super nitpicky like other French professors at Cal Poly, which is really nice. She wants you to do well and her grading reflects that desire. She cares more about students understanding the concepts than penalizing them for not understanding, which is great and made it easier for me to learn.
