I took Headrick for PPSC 110. I recommend that class to anyone who doesnt like Bio. It was seriously the best class I've ever had at poly. The labs were the best where we ate bugs and rn around campus with butterfly nets. Seriously if you can take this class do it

Very helpful, nice guy. Headrick knows what he's talking about, but is humble. His sense of humor made PPSC 110 very enjoyable, and we learned alot. I recommend this class (plus it's graded on a curve. the text is also cheap). My only suggestion is study a bit more than you think you need to. The really cool thing though is there's hardly any reading! woohoo!

Dr. Headrick is one of THE BEST professors I've had at Poly. People, Pests, and Plagues is by far the best choice I could have made in fulfilling my B2/B4 GE requirements. He and Dr. Costello team teach the course. They make an awesome team. I thought Headrick was a lot more entertaining, and perhaps did a better job teaching, but they're both top notch teachers. The material is incredibly interesting, and even when the material itself isn't the most interesting, they do their best to present it in a captivating way. The labs are awesome. I really liked the bee lab. There's a few really easy lecture quizzes, a mid-term, and a final. The quizzes are a mixture of different types of questions. The midterm and final are multiple choice. The class prepares for the mid-term and the final by playing Insect Jeopardy. Great class!!! Highly Recommended!!!

Henrick is absolutely hilarious. I took PPSC X110 (People, Pests, and Plagues) with him last quarter and whenever he lectured, he was very entertaining. His subtle humor and knowledge made going to class something I always wanted to do. He is very straight forward and an awesome professor...i would recommend him to anyone! If you can take a class with him, do it!

Headrick's the best teacher ever! I have him right now for PPSC 110 (which everyone should take by the way) and he's so chill. If Costello was the only professor who taught this class i would shoot myself. Headrick is so kick back and his jokes are actually funny. He's a great example that you can learn and have fun at the same time. Oh and side note...he's the exact mix of Ross Gellar, Nic Cage, and Ed Norton :) He's the best teacher I've had at Cal Poly so far.

i took his PPSC 110 class. Polyratings did not have "PPSC" as a class. THIS GUY IS AWESOME. he is a really funny guy, and the class is suprisingly interestng. You get to eat bugs, catch bugs, visit a bee hive, watch bug movies....all in the lab or course. The lecture is not quite as cool, but it STILL IS pretty interesting. Headrick co teaches with costello, who is just as cool. The test are not that bad, no hw and you dont have to buy a book, they make a book that has all the notes in it for like $12. Headrick is a cool guy, who cracks jokes and keeps your attention. Its funny, to see costello and headrick, two guys who are completely amazed by insects. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THEM!!!!

Holy crap, where to start? PPSC 110 was a kick-ass class because Headrick is funny, knowledgeable, and obviously enjoys teaching the class. It's also the easiest B2/B4 class I've ever heard of. Take it, you won't regret it!!

To be honest, Headrick as a person is an awesome guy. The problem is, this past quarter the structure of the class changed so that now Headrick is the main lecture teacher which is not necessarily bad. He has a great sense of humor to keep you interested in the material, but will GRILL you on midterms and tests on little obscure facts and pieces of data that don\'t seem to grasp many of the larger concepts in the class. The midterm average was 65%. Everyone said this class was supposed to be an easy A, but turned out to be a difficult B. If I did it over, I\'d take a BIO class instead.

Dr Headrick is a wonderful teacher. His tests are right off the notes that he gives you to print out. The lab is actually fun and informative. He is the first instructor that I have had that really knows what he is talking about. As boring as this class could be Dr. Headrick spices it up with his own humor and makes it not just barable, but fun to attend, imagine that! I suggest to take this class, even if you don't need it

Awesome, awesome teacher. I would take him for any class at any time in the day or night. I have had him for 3 classes now, and he is still by far one of the best teachers at this school. Take him if you ever get the chance.

Best professor in the AEPS department. Straightforward and shares a lot of interesting facts if you attend class. No tricks on the exams which is only 1 midterm and a final. Very funny professor and makes class very interesting. Highly recommend all his classes.

The actual class was PPSC 411. Very good instructor. By far my favorite teacher. Very easy-going, very knowledgeable. Makes learning the material fun and keeps class entertained. If you attend class, you will pass. Truly cares for his students and their success in college. Would take every class with him if I could.

Headrick is the best teacher i have ever had, Period. Take this class, and any others by him. You will learn tons, and have fun at the same time. Headrick should do stand-up comedy in his free time.

Rants and Raves! Dr. Headrick is scientific, fun, informative, and encouraging for those who are timid in delving into the complicated world of insect/plant relations. His Grad student lab assistants are also fantastic and helpful with collections or field ID. Take this class!!
