Great teacher. Jun did respect my design ideas and gave me incredible comments during the quarter. I'll miss him.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...

I feel bad for what I'm about to say because Jun is a really really sweet man... But as a teacher, he is an absolute nightmare. Unless you already have AutoCAD experience, be prepared for frustration. Jun's accent is so heavy, it is almost impossible to understand him. Even when I sat right in front and tried as hard as I could to decipher his speech, I still couldn't figure out what the hell he was saying. He could've been speaking Korean and I would not have been able to tell the difference. If you ask him for help, you will probably wind up being more confused about the problem you're having than you were to begin with. One time I asked about formatting AutoCAD drawings, and he kept telling me to change the "prus tie"... ??? It took me 10 minutes to figure out that he was trying to say "plot style"... AutoCAD is already like a foreign language, so it really doesn't help when you have to learn it from a guy who speaks some garbled Korean-English-Pidgin language. He should not be teaching this class. AVOID!

Well... I agree Jun is a really sweat man. Also I agree his accent is heavy, because he is a korean. But, I don't think Jun's CAD class is awful. Actually, his lecture notes are awesome. You can just follow instructions in each lecture note. Just focus on each assignment and project. That's it. Still way better than other instructors teaching CAD I think... By now, Jun is one of the best teachers in any of my classes. He is a teacher who fully respects and supports students' work. You know it has never been easy to find that kind of manner from other faculty in this department. Not to mention my experiences with Jun in LA204 have been better than other studios. He is very kind and wants students to succeed.

To the first reviewer: if it really took you 10 minutes to figure out that Jun was telling you to "change the plot style"- I think you need to examine your intelligence, rather than the pitfalls of Jun's accent...! Whatever is lost in translation due to his accent, is compensated for with Jun's extensive (and generous!) lecture notes, and his willingness to help his students succeed. he is one of the few respectable instructors in the Landscape Architecture department... He has this rare virtue in which he has some pride in his work! thats probably why he's moving on. he's too good for this whack ass department! I could count the number of decent professors in this department on my right hand. If I was missing my thumb and forefinger...
