Great teacher. What he teaches you, you can actually use. Seriously, we learned about beam and column sizing, and I sized columns and beams in my studio project. He's a young guy, graduated from Cal Poly, he has a lot great insights and stories that he uses to teach you that "stuff you can't learn in the classroom" which is what I think makes Cal Poly great, its more than just a teacher helping understand the textbook. His homework, is between easy and average. It's helpful. If he says small quiz, treat it like a midterm, cuz it is. There's only 2. It's not just calcs on the test either, there are fill in the blanks. We had a great project at the end of the class too. We designed an elem school gym. Not too much work. but you had to rip some plans and sections elevations and perps from sketchup or something, make a simple model, and size a few of the columns beams and shear walls. Great project, really ties the whole class together, which is good because you might need it in some 316 classes.
