Ms. Hamilton is a good teacher. She explains everything in a clear manner to the class until they understand. The only thing that holds me back from saying she is an excellent teacher is that she is way too hyper, perhaps because she loves the subject so much. I sometimes came out of the class with headaces because she would never ever stop talking. She talks fast and lectures constantly. It seems as if the whole class period, she never takes a breath. However, this method isnt a total failure. She gets out the material clear, surpsrisingly. Her tests are pretty easy requiring only a little bit of studying. Her homework load varies, though. One week she may assign almost no homework while the next week she can overload you with many assignments. I think this is due to her hyper state. Overall, I would rate her 7 out of 10. If you take the class and do a little bit of studying, you can get a B pretty easily. A shot out goes out to my homies in P.D. peace

She is defintely sitting upon a high horse that she needs to get off of. Does give everything needed to pass the tests and the tests are basic. Too many stupid little assignments, and i think her Grading Policies suck. The distribution of weighted points towards quizzes, midterm, final, homework, and paper really need to be adjusted, where the more important stuff like midterm and final should be worth more.

She's alright, the class is easy and the tests are easy. She could have been more helpful with questions asked. There is a lot of homework assigned but the stuff is very easy it just gets annoying after a while. Favortism in class, directs stuff towards a couple students all the time.

I took Hamiltons AGB 101 in the fall of 2000 and I thought that she did a really good job. She is very good about explaining the information. It helps that she loves what she is teaching and she always has examples to go along with concepts. I would recommend anyone taking her class.

First off, let me say that I have never had more busy-work in my entire educational career. Hamilton assigns work like AGB 101 is your life. She also grades things harshly, aparently not realizing that there is more to life than constantly looking at her webpage. Despite the annoyance with the nightly homework, she does however explain the material extremely well and thoroughly. Her quizzes are hard though, covering EVERYTHING you were supposed to have learned. If you don't study AND read, you're screwed. She expects a lot from her students, which, I guess, can be a good thing, except when you are taking 20 units and have to fulfill the lowest ranked class for your major. If you're willing to do a lot of crap work, then take Hamilton. You will learn something.

hamilton seems alright at first (a bit of a spaz), but as the quarter goes on..... you'll soon find that she contridicts herself on a regular basis with her grading. She finds pleasure in letting everyone know that she DOESN'T CURVE! although on homework it is extremely hard to get a 100% becuase "grading is somewhat subjective on homework"(words of hamilton). Grading subjectively is essentially a curve, she lacks consistency. She feels the need to show and exercise her power over students, she sticks to what she thinks no matter what, no exceptions!she has tried to turn agb 101 into an extremely difficult course with lots of homework(all of which is busy work). She does do a good job of presenting the info. overall i would reccomend not taking her, because she and her "grader" do not grade fair.

I was initially excited to be in the class, Hamilton has a lot of energy which I thought would make to be a great quarter. As time went on (and I got a few papers back) I realized that she doesn't make her standards for what an A is very clear, though she does make it very clear that she does NOT curve. Homework, however, is graded subjectively. These constant grading contradictions make it difficult to get the grade you want. If you are satisfied with a B, then take this class because you will get that (or lower), unless you make the class your life. All of these evals have one thing in common; we all thought the class was easy. With everyone thinking the class was so easy, then why does everyone list their grade as a B or a C? In Bio 151(a class that has a 60% fail rate), I earned a B. Knowing this, it doesn't seem logical that I would recieve the same grade in a class that is supposed to be an introductory course that everyone thinks is easy. To show how rediculous the grading is I will use this example: My friend did her homework assignment and gave it to me to turn in when she was sick. She asked that I would recopy it between classes because she thought it was too messy. After hastily recopying it I went to class where I turned in her's and mine (which I spent much more time on). When we recieved our papers back I recieved a -1 for "lack of neatness" though the other paper did not have this deduction and I hand wrote both. This clearly shows that if the teacher doesn't favor you, the grader "coincidently" marks you down. Moral of the Story: If you like busy work and don't care about your gpa, hamilton is a great pick.

If you like "no B.S." teachers...this is the gal. She does the job, does it in a language we can all understand, gets the important info into your brain, and makes everything crystal clear. Homework is a big part of your grade, but it is easy and worth doing because that is what gets you the grade. You have to study for tests, but it is not brain surgery it is just memorization. She is a bit moody and always gets her way, but if you can deal with that, I highly recommend her. If you get along with her and she likes you, you are in luck and you will like her, so take her classes.

Dr. Hamilton wasn't a bad professor... she just needs to work on her people skills. She does learn a lot of names (which can come as a surprise when she calls on you in lecture) but she doesn't use names in a productive manner. She is a bit negative and lets her bad moods steer the course of class. She gets through a lot of material and assigns a LOT of work but overall, you learn a lot. Make sure you study for the quizzes because they can be the deciding factor between A's and B's.

Make sure you call her "Dr." Hamilton, otherwise she will get offended! She is a very intelligent teacher but shes definately full of herself! Her homework is just busy work but it does help you learn the material. Sometimes her tests are confusing and she expects you to KNOW the material INSIDE AND OUT! Besides her bug-eyes and hyper personality, this class isn't that bad. Read when she tells you to read because there will probably be a "VSQ"-Very short quiz on it the next day.

Once you get to know Dr. Hamilton, she is very nice. I highly recommend that you get on her good side and STAY there. She really respects students who go about things in a responsible and humble way. Once I slept in and missed a quiz...I told her the situation and she let me make it up during her office hours! The class was pretty interesting, but that's coming from a city kid knowing nothing about agriculture or agribusiness. Dr. Hamilton is a great teacher. The material is easy to follow, and if you memorize all the information you'll do great on the tests. The "very short quizzes" are pointless but just give you more points. Do all extra credits that's offered, as it does help your grade. During the quarter her grader grades most of the papers fairly easily; however, when it comes down to the Term Paper, Hamilton grades it extremely hard. Also, the Term Paper counts for 20% of your grade, where as the final only counts for 15%. Do well on that and all of your homework and you'll do fine!

Dr. Hamilton is a little scary at first, but once you have been in her class for a few weeks, and are on her good side, you shouldn't worry. She assigns a LOT of homework, but if you do it and do it well, you're guaranteed at least a B in the class. Her tests are pretty difficult, but if you basically memorize the slides, you'll do fine. I recommend not to piss this woman off, because that evil eye seems a little scary. I was fortunate enough to one of the quiet ones that didn't really stand out. Hamilton is a really good teacher, she gives a lot of homework. She presents the matieral very clearly and she makes sure that you understand it. She doesn't rush through the material like other teachers, she goes at a great pace that is easy to keep up with. Her homework is easy, and it is mostly busy work, but it helps you practice all the material you learned. I actually learned something in Hamilton's class, instead of a bunch of memorization.

Dr Hamilton is overal a good teacher I thought. She does kind of scare you at first, but through the quarter she really lightens up and become much more personable. Her tests are memorizations of little facts that she likes to put in the form of true and false, which if false you have to correct to make the statement true, those are a pain, but the rest of the test is easy if you know the slides. Get on her good side, and she will be understanding if something goes wrong...email her in that situation.

This woman likes to hear herself talk. If you dont turn your work in on time she will NOT take it, no ifs ands or buts. She came off as way uptight and takes her class way to seriously for a 101 class. At times i felt that she thought we were in an upper division AGB class. I have received A's in five other AGB courses and will probably not get one in this class (I'm writing this before the end of the quarter.) There is a lot of busy work and reading in the book which gets really annoying after the first week. I would not take another class with her again if I were given the option. Overall she needs to move back to the midwest and find a job in the industry because she is not a good teacher.

I learned a lot in Hamilton's class, but it was a lot of work for an introduction course. You have all these very short quizzes as well as getting assigned work. You can't just skim your notes for tests and get by with an A, you actually have to study them and go over them. If you want to learn a lot, take this class; if you want an easy intro. class, try another one.

One word to describe Hamilton is "Energy!". She knows what she is talking about an is very confident with the subject matter. Lectures were interesting, and I loved the material we covered. She is friendly and helpful, easy to talk to, accessible during office hours, and always responds to her emails. This class usually requires some reading before class, and I would recommend taking an hour or so to actually do it. I would have gotten an A if I had just done the reading more consistently. In class tests and quizzes are pretty straightforward if you do the homework. The final threw me for a couple loops, trickier than I expected her to give us, but not too bad. Overall I would recommend her and will take her again.

Avoid Hamilton at all costs! Simply terrible teacher: rude, arrogant, and rambling. I had her for AGB 101 supposedly an easy class. Not in her hands she managed to make it into a real fight for a decent grade. I was one of the ten A\'s in her class out of sixty-seventy students. She plays favorites, gives a TON of busy work for no reason, fails to teach you anything, and her grading on assignments is so subjective it makes my head spin. Don\'t get me wrong she is smart! Professor Hamilton is very intelligent and knows what she is talking about. However, she made material that is very simple complicated by talking down to the class and making it harder than it needed to be. Lynn Hamilton was a rude and downright sorry excuse for a teacher. She is knowledgeable of the course material, but teaches the course in a manner where you loath having to go to class every time it comes around. She lectures for almost the entire period and is uninteresting making it difficult to stay focused. The upside to her class is that there are lots of assignments so no one category carries too much weight. The class consumed more time and effort than any of my other 4 unit courses and the 4 term papers were very stressful. For the term papers, you choose a topic at random and are stuck with the same for all 4 sections. (I had the misfortune of selecting alfalfa hay, the final paper has a 10 page minimum, but most of them were closer to 15 total.) Her class is difficult and unenjoyable, it will require a high degree of work to do well I am happy to be beyond my AGB 101 requirement.

As I sat down on day 1 and listened to her talk about how nobody got an A in her class last year, and how important it is that she is called "doctor or professor, never mrs, because women can be doctors too", I knew this class was gonna be bad. Her grading policies are fair on paper, but she makes them unfair. She will give grades based on how she is feeling or how she wants you to do. She doesn't like giving A's, so if you have one she will be sure to hunt you down and change that. If you take this class this is what you should expect: Emails on Fridays about how nobody came to her office hours which make you want to repeatedly punch a wall until your hand bleeds, a system of grading in which favorites are picked and getting an A is impossible, an abysmal 2 hour lecture twice a week that is extremely horrendous to listen to, and a teacher that takes pride in making her class not hard, but simply unfair. Prof. Hamilton should not be rated this low. I can understand why a lot of people do not like her, but she is a really good teacher. I made the mistake of only going into office hours for her class once, and I finished with a B+. Had I gone more times, I probably would have finished with an A. Moral of the story: go into office hours, especially for your term paper. She tells you specifics as to what she wants on it, and will even look up information you can't find for you. First things first.. Professor Hamilton is possessed by demons. Ok. Anyways. She presents the material well in class, its pretty dry but all the material is there. I got an A on the final and a B on the term paper and i end up with an 89.7 in the class. she doesn't add in participation and extra credit, and I'm left with the overall impression that she enjoys exercising power over students and doesn't care that much about their well-being. Hamil(toe) was the first AGB professor I ever had and, yes, she is extremely tough, sometimes arrogant, and has very high expectations for her students but I honestly learned a ton from her class. Be prepared for a very time-consuming class, not very hard material, just a lot of work. Trust me though, all the work pays off because it really does help in knowing about the industry and on her tests. There are clicker questions almost every day for some easy points, quizzes every couple weeks, papers due about guest speakers, a major research paper on your given commodity, and a final. I spent countless hours and nights working on the research paper but in the end i got a 95 on it and it was the greatest day of my life. If there's anything I can emphasize it's to GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS literally every chance you get. She can be a bitch if you ask stupid questions so just be prepared beforehand and be on top of your shit and she won't make you feel too bad, it really just hurts your grade more if you're not in her face. Honestly, Hamilton's not that bad of a professor. In fact, she was one of my better ones this quarter. Yeah, the term paper sucks ass, but as long as you fulfill all of her requirements, you'll most likely get at least a C (aka not failing). Her grading policies can be VERY weird however. My friend's part 2 of his term paper was very in depth and seemed to me to be a great paper. Hamilton gave it a D- but put a lot of positive comments on it. We couldn't for the life of us figure out why the hell it got a D-. The quizzes are hard, but as long as you study the notes she gives you you'll do fine. There is hardly any homework except for the term paper which will in total take you around 30 hours to complete for all 3 parts, plus the final completed paper. The final is ok so long as you study all the past quizzes, as many of the questions on it are taken directly from said quizzes. Also, many of the evaluations below this one will tell you to go to her office hours for help on the term paper and to get a good grade. This is true, although I went to exactly zero of her office hours and still got an A on the final paper, but take that with a grain of salt. Overall, yeah Hamilton can be weird, annoying, etc. etc. but as long as you do everything you're told to do, YOU WILL PASS THIS CLASS.

This isn't high school anymore.... You should spend your time wisely like going to her office hours or writing your term paper instead of going out and partying. This class showed me that this is the real deal. Time to really study and put in work instead of skimming by like you did in high school. Although, a lot of her assignments are busy work like the guest speaker papers, I did appreciate her giving up class time for them to come in. If you participate in class, go extensively to office hours, and actually put a lot of effort in your paper, you will definitely pass. I got a 93 all together on my term paper but a C- on my final and i still came out with a A-. That goes to show how much she values the paper and it helped to get all the extra participation points she offered.

I didn't go and I still received a B on the paper but I know it could have been an A if I had gone and asked for help. Overall, I felt like I learned a ton during this course.

I worked my butt off and got a B in the class. Ridiculous for a 101 class. Had to write 4 huge research papers, 4 quizzes, more assignments than any other class, and the final hard because it's cumulative and she does a poor job preparing the class for it. Go to her office hours, study for the quizzes because they sneaky are worth a lot. Most work for any of my classes. Annoying because my friends' in other majors say their 101 classes are easy A's.

Feels like she wants to see her students fail. Makes it clear that she will only give out a few A's each quarter. If you work hard in her class and go to her office hours she will help you out, but still doesn't feel like she wants to see you succeed.

I had Hamilton for intro to AGB. She is A VERY hard teacher and expects a lot out of every student. I would suggest studying a lot, going into her office hours (she plays favorites so be a favorite), revising papers and emailing her. She likes to see that students are involved and that they care. An A- is possible if you try really hard.

Dr. Hamilton, although strict, is a wonderful professor. She encourages students to work hard and learn different skills that are needed in college. Unlike most 101 teachers, she wants her students to learn about how college works. She does give a good amount of assignments and a big research paper broken into parts but gives you a huge amount of resources to get the job done and has a lot of office hours to help you if you are struggling. She wants student to work hard and look for the answer before they ask her to give it to them. Try hard and show her you care and you will definitely do well in her class. The only reason people don't like her is because they don't think or try their best before they go to her and she wants to teach you that most professors won't put up with lazy so she doesn't either. She's a great woman and has a huge wealth of knowledge on what she teaches. I definitely recommend her if you are willing to be a good student.

Whoever is on here trying to say that it’s hard to get an A is just wrong. The research paper is hard but if you actually do the necessary requirements for a research paper you’ll be find. Hamilton is a terrible teacher who actually may be the worst public speaker I’ve ever seen. She can never stay on track during lecture and she constantly has to think twice about what she is saying. I’ve been to office hours several times and each time she’s condescending to me and the people there As well. I actually don’t understand how this lady could be likable.

By far the worst class I have ever taken by far. The entire class is basically a shit show where the only thing that matters is your stupid ass research essay. You spend hours in this class week by week grinding out the notes listening to her yap about Ohio state only to realize none of it matters. What she teaches you has no effect on your "essay". Now, this wouldn't be so bad if she graded your essays fairly, but no, this woman goes out of her way to force kids to her office hours. It's like she's some lonely old hag and the only satisfaction she gets in life is helping kids fix made-up mistakes that don't exist. The only people that survive this class with a good grade are the ones who are willing to spend 4+ hrs a week in her office while she babies you through your essay. Fuck Hamilton, Fuck my agricultural commodity research essay. Actually teach us something that will help us in life......

This class was low-key hard for a 101 class. Professor Hamilton knows her stuff, but can be a hardass sometimes. She has her specific things she doesn't like. Don't ass dumbass questions and you should be okay. Definitely study for the tests, especially the stuff she lectures on in class. I honestly didn't read the textbook that much because she covered most of it in class. You have to do 3 research essays that culminate into one big one, which is a lot of work. Don't save it for the last minute or you will get a bad grade. I ended up getting a 92 on my final essay because I went into her office hours a LOT. Go into her office hours she will love you and help you on everything. Overall this was a good class and you should get a good grade if you put in work.

You definitely have to work for Hamilton's class. I actually really enjoyed her lectures, and I thought she was entertaining. Be prepared to write a lot of essays for this class, especially the 10-15 page commodity paper. DO NOT wait until the last minute to write it, I pulled 2 all nighters for her papers and it was miserable. I ended with a B+ because the final exam was pretty difficult. Read the assignments and articles she gives you, and write decent essays and you should be fine.

Professor Hamilton is a very good professor. Most people do not like her because of how straightforward she is, but I believe that is what makes her a great professor. She knows what she's talking about. There is no midterm, which is great and the quizzes are moderately hard, but not too bad. The huge term paper you have to write on a commodity is a lot of work and I recommend starting as soon as she gives you the resources to do so. The final was very difficult because she has a lot of "Select All That Apply" questions. Do not make the mistake of calling her "Mrs. Hamilton." She will probably murder you. Always call her either "Professor Hamilton" or "Doctor Hamilton." She is a great professor though and likes if you visit her office hours and if you ask questions. Another plus is not having to buy the textbook because she puts a copy online.

The best way to succeed in Hamilton's class is to pay attention, ask questions, and go into her office hours for the research paper. If you make the effort to connect with her and show her that you want to do well, Hamilton is willing to help. Be sure to be respectful and proper and never call her Mrs. Hamilton. As long as you don't challenge her you can get on her good side. I recommend trying to build a positive relationship with her, otherwise the class can be difficult. No midterms, but there are quizzes that you have to pay attention to.

Hamilton knows her shit ill give her that but this class sucks. She really aims to belittle and humiliate her students for no reason and plays favorites and well. I realize this is a required intro course for those going into this major. My one and only recommendation is to lay low literally do not even let her know who you are and she won't be able to insult you by name. Attend class but sit in the back unlike me and don't answer question because then she won't recognize you, I promise this is the only way out LOL. If you absolutely need it go to her office hours but I recommend asking other students before or even the TA. Study all the little percentages she gives to you in class that's what she puts on her quizzes. DO NOT question her or the info she presents or else you will literally want to cry. Make sure you really find the info she is wanting for your commodity papers as well and the videos she provides help a ton. If you do well on these you will do ok in the class. #GOODLUCKAGB101

A lot of people don't like Hamilton, but that is because she is very particular in what she expects of her students. Her grades are pretty spread out with a moderate workload. The biggest deal in her class is the term paper which is really not that bad. She is very helpful in office hours and in-class just be sure to sit closer to the front. Make sure you ask questions if you have any doubts, even to clarify because she knows that you care and that carries weight with her. Also, her quizzes can be very specific so make sure that you show up to class, pay attention, and READ THE ARTICLES on polylearn/canvas. Honestly, Dr. Hamiliton is pretty consistent and as long as you are a proactive student, you will be fine.

Hamilton's class was unnecessary harsh and difficult for an intro class. She really prides herself on the fact that her class is difficult and that her students struggle with it. The content is fine and she did an adequate job explaining most things, but she is so rude and demeaning to her students. When she didn't explain concepts well, she would start yelling at the class and blame students for asking questions to clarify. It made students really uncomfortable and unable to ask questions. She definitely plays favorites and in order to get a good grade in the class, I recommend going to her office hours even if it's just to clarify what you already know. There are a lot of articles to read and she often wouldn't post them until the day before we needed to know them so you need to constantly check Polylearn. Reading the book isn't very necessary since most of the material of the quizzes is from class and/or the articles. The grading on some of the assignments is very inconsistent and she'll get mad if you ask her about it. The major project of the class is a term paper about a specific agricultural commodity and it's worth 25% of the grade so doing well on that is important. Overall, getting a good grade is manageable with a lot of work, but extremely frustrating since she is so rude and unclear about her expectations.

This is definitely the worst class and teacher that i have ever had... She definitely did not know what she was talking about in class during her lectures. This was like her 2nd time teaching this class and she would make all kinds of mistakes.. and when students corrected her she could never admit her mistakes. She is an awful teacher and it feels like she enjoys torturing her students with all the work she assigns. She gives out all these quizzes and tests and she is not even the one she grades it. She is a bad teacher, but an even worse person. She actualy told our class that if we had any questions about problems we had missed on our mid-term to "think twice about asking her about it because we obviously dont know what we are talking about" she gets upset very easily, questions are not encouraged and you might get yelled at in front of the class for asking because "this is all review and everyone should know it". very ill tempered and often does problems wrong and must re-do them. on the high note her tests are pretty easy, they work load is high, but not hard to get a good grade as long as you dont mind being shamed.

I wouldn't recommend taking this class with Dr. Hamilton. She was a good professor for 213, but in this class she didn't do a very good job at presenting the material. All of her lectures were on power point, which was nice, but she spent most of her time trying to fix her computer instead of just teaching us the material. Her lectures got to be very repetitive and she tended to be too hyper to actually give her lectures in a calm manner. The problem with homework was she would assign it to us in class when she actually knew the assignment, but a lot of the time she wouldn't have it posted on her website till 9 p.m., when the assignment would be due the next day. It didn't seem like she really cared if we learned or not because it wasn't an "evaluation quarter." She also assigned an eight page term paper and after she graded them told us how poor of writers we are. Overall, I wouldn't recommend her until she actually cares about her teaching and her students.

Lyn Hamilton is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She goes back and forth without finishing sentences and is very hard to follow. I have never seen a teacher be so rude to students multiple times and she has no patience what so ever. I bet she knows a lot, but she does a horrible job of teaching. Hamilton sucks. She has you do around 5 homework assignments that aren't too bad but the policy briefs are awful. Takes hours just understand what the reading means. She loves to pick on kids that say something that is wrong and ABSOLUTELY HATES CELL PHONES. If you have one out and she catches you she makes a point to call you out in class. Her tests aren't bad if you go to class every day and she has clicker questions pretty much every day about obscure facts about politics. If you can take Nicholson, do that. I hear he's awesome. If you value your GPA, DO NOT TAKE THIS BITCH. Her grading is so unrealistic I can't even make sense of how her scale works. I just got back a paper that I put close to 8 hours of work in and the only thing that she has to say about the paper is that I didn't cite the sources, even though the paper is on an article that I obviously received my sources from. She gave me a C- because I didn't cite my sources in a briefing. THAT WAS ALL SHE MARKED OFF ON. As a student of Cal Poly and someone who wants to do well, I strongly recommend you take someone else if you want to learn and don't want to put work into a paper that will be graded more heavily on citation than content. SHE IS A ARROGANT OLD HAG WHO NEEDS TO BE INSTITUTIONALIZED. Never met a woman (if you can call her that) that will deliberately try to hurt your grade because it's not exactly who she would have said it. Dr. Hamilton is an overall ineffective professor and one of the lower-tier instructors for the AGB department at Cal Poly. Having had her for AGB 101 with relatively few issues, I figured I would have a similar experience in AGB 312 but this was not the case. Although highly knowledgeable in regards to both current and older issues of agricultural policy, she does not teach the material well at all. Dr. Hamilton was very difficult to approach with questions/clarifications either in lecture or in office hours and would often belittle students when they did not know answers she called on them for. Her HW assignments were graphical analysis' of policies which were easy points if well understood in the classroom, but total nightmares to do on your own if they did not click in class. Throughout the quarter she assigned a few policy briefs which were BRUTAL, her grading on them was highly subjective and she ripped students apart on citation alone even when she provided a citation guide which students followed. Regular in class quizzes were graded inconsistently by TA's and Dr. Hamilton was not open to reviewing them with students. Her tests were very difficult if you struggled with the graphical analysis, but overall usually graded generously. MacDougal is currently the only other alternative for AGB 312 and not much an improvement, but his class is supposed to be slightly easier if you find yourself having to choose between the two. Overall Dr. Hamilton is a rude and unpleasant person who is highly inflexible but there are sadly few other alternatives so expect to take this class with Hamilton and suffer through a stressful, moderate-workload course. And her ass is the flattest thing ever, it's flatter than construction paper, not a looker to say the least. Good luck to any future students stuck in Lynn Hamilton's hell-hole I hope you don't suffer a fiery demise like your predecessors.

I had Hamilton for 101 and liked her. 312, however, is a different matter. While I still like her as a person in general, I honestly had no idea what the fuck was going on in this class. If you don't have a 100% COMPLETE understanding of how the graphs work, you better get your shit together, son, cause when that first midterm rolls around you're gonna be getting up to go to the bathroom to clean up cause you will shit yourself. Luckily a buddy of mine helped me through this class, but if you don't know anybody in it and/or somebody who has taken it in the past... shooeeeeeebuddy fuck that shit. To be fair, Hamilton really knows her shit about policy, but (at least for me) was ineffective at transferring her knowledge into my little pea brain. She has a fetish for busywork too which blows. At the time it was either taking her or MacDougall, and there is no way in hell I am ever taking that socialist cumstain again. I hear that Noel is teaching it now, so maybe try him. Or not, its your fuckin life do what you want. Moral of the story: 312 is a shitty class and everybody in AGB has to take it, so either fail now or fail later. Lynn is a great teacher, people that rate her negatively don't work very hard for their grades. You have to do ALL the work and readings to do well in her classes. Hard work reps rewards IE A's in class. I have had Dr. Hamilton for three class 101, 212, and 313. Every class I've had with her I've have to work hard for my grade, but I learned a ton. 313 was a lot of case studies and ecomomical analysis but I learned so much the class made me want to switch to a policy concentration. bottom line she doesn't take any crap and she is much nice if you show her respect and if you are in one of her more advanced classes (I don't like she like the immaturity that comes along with freshmen and sophomores). It makes a difference if you want to be in the class compared to having to be there.

For any Freshman AGB major you will have Dr. Hamilton and honestly she might scare you a little. However for both her AGB 312 and AGB 412 classes you will learn to love her. Dr. Hamilton is a great teacher and you will definitely learn a lot. AGB 412 is manageable and if you are looking to go into any policy related job in the Agriculture field you should take this class. There is one final research paper that you get to choose your topic for and a final group project which is chosen for you. Both assignments were useful and I have used knowledge from this class again and again.
