Okay, I had so many ups and downs with Cornelius I don't even know how to feel. He's cool one on one in the sense that he is very willing to help. In class and in lab, however, he hates stopping to explain something again, and often makes another student help you if you don't understand something (which is both good and bad. sometimes you really need the PROFESSORS help not his pet). I learned a lot, labs were kinda cool once i got the hang of it. lectures were dry and boring usually. I thought I was gonna get a B but I got an A somehow so that's chill. Also his TA was awful and graded everything during finals week so we had no idea what our fate would be until then

This guy's one strange dude. I still don't get you, Cornelius, but I learned some stuff I wanted to about transportation. Dr. Nuworsoo, in lecture, in a word - is - entertaining. He's got a bit of an accent which I found mildly amusing. The material is interesting and he's a pretty good lecturer overall. In lab, he is totally different. He is rather unsympathetic, and you kinda have to put up with him giving you a hard time if you don't understand something the very first time he explains it. I found he lacks certain basic social skills, however is highly intelligent and passionate about transportation. He is also very experienced and well-connected. I would try and stay on his good side if I were you.

Cornelius was condescending when talking to students and was difficult to understand. He was more than subpar when explaining assignments, and even marked us down for following his example because the example was wrong. His labs were difficult to follow, and there was a major disconnect between what was happening in lecture and what was going on during lab time. He was highly non-understanding of students needs and could not understand their questions when they asked them. His accent is super thick and it is clear that things do not translate well to him when students have problems. I have never learned less in a class than I have in this one.

Cornelius is a great professor and a good friend. He is helpful in office hours and his labs are laid out so that they are easy to follow and can be used in practice.

I'm a fan of Cornelius. I like his jokes and his jovial attitude. There is a lot of class participation, but he never asks too difficult of questions. Labs are very easy, especially if you're good at excel (if not don't worry). For this class my only knock on him is that sometimes his instructions are a little ambiguous. I'd recommend this class and professor if you have an interest in the subject matter!

I received an A. Don't use any computer or cell phones in this class or else you will be a "martyr for example." I always record audio for notes, but I sat all the way in the front. Contrary to what a lot of people would say I can understand what he is saying clearly. His labs are okay just make sure you do the work and follow with him during the lab presentation. A recommendation to people who are having a hard time is to attend both lab sessions, I did and got a better understanding as I did the exercise twice! Lab info are not tested on the exams or final. There is math on the midterm and final, but they are so elementary like add, subtract, multiply, and divide the distances with some radius. P.S. After midterms he shows a bell curve of the scores on the test. My friend got the lowest score which was around 50, this always made me laugh because I knew right away that was him hahaha!:)

Kind of a waste of time. Assignments are ridiculously complex for no good reason. Exam is pretty pointless too. Don\'t feel like it really added anything to my knowledge of how to conduct research.

The class wasn't hard, I learned some good stuff (from the TA and readings), and the Final was open book. These were the only things about the experience. Here are the problems: 1. he has no communication skills. If you ask a question you will be ignored, or he will say "ask me later." 2. His slides are from 1980 and he doesn't care enough about the class to update them. 3. If you think the slides are bad, try following his lecture (makes 0 sense). I had to read the book to figure everything out. 4. He's arrogant. If you know him you know this already. Not a horrible person or anything, just not someone who should be teaching graduate level courses.

"Boooooooooom." What else can be added that hasn't already been said? The only thing I can add is that he's much more (relatively speaking) personable and approachable one-on-one than in a group/class setting.

Graduate Students of City and Regional Planning: Beware! Avoid Cornelius Nuworsoo at all costs. The less he is involved in your education, the better it will be and the happier you will be. Of course Cornelius is extraordinarily boring when it comes to stats lectures (516), but he manages to deliver a course that isn\'t a total failure. Maybe a C-. But for a studio course, avoid him at all costs. The studio course I took with him was the biggest educational disaster of my lifetime. He gives instructions that are as clear as mud (or none at all), berates students that don\'t do exactly whatever it was that he imagines he told us to do, has a poor attitude, mocks students behind their back in the presence of other students, and tells students that their work doesn\'t matter because \"he\'ll have to redo it all anyway.\" He has demonstrated absolute incompetence as a project manager.
