Classroom participation was an unnecessarily large component of the grade (30%). She waxes on about how she values intelligent class discussion, and quality over quantity, but at the end of the quarter, the people with the highest participation grades were just the ones who didn't have anything of value to say, but liked the sound of their own voice and talked a lot.
