Teaches the material well. Understands time constraints and accommodates to the student. Excellent teacher. TAKE HIM.

Terribly boring. I never attending lecture and fell asleep to the recordings he put online. No one really paid attention in the lecture. There was even a kid who played piano on his iPad the entire class. Just read the book and go to the end of term review session. You'll pass. You only need a 60 on the final to get an A anyways.

Wilson is a relatively new teacher to Poly, and he only teaches the labs. He's a nice guy, and he'll help you out if you need it. You can definitely tell that he's a new teacher though, as he tends to take much more time than is necessary in explaining how to use all the machines.

He is a nice guy who really knows his job well. He really seems to like teaching. The homework is very manageable, I think he only assigned 5 10 question assignments over the whole quarter. When studying for the midterm and final definitely go over the slides. I really enjoyed this class and I would suggest getting involved past the actual lab projects. There are a lot of interesting and fun things to learn and do on the lathes and mills in the shop that there isn\'t time for in the curriculum.

David is a great guy, especially out of class. Don\'t hesitate to get to know him, he is full of knowledge and is ready to share it. In lecture he can seem kind of dull, especially at 7AM, but overall he says what is needed to be said in class, and it is what is needed for midterm and final. It is not a hard class to get a solid A in, the only thing you need to do is pay attention in lecture and go. He puts his power point slides online, but often only covers part of it and expands off of it, and is so much easier to learn and retain if you go. Did not have him for lab. His lecture homework is pretty easy and straightforward. He has an honest intent to help everybody do their best and succeed.

Wilson seems like he know what he\'s talking about... however, he does not know how to write equations, write homework, or count the number of bubbles on a scantron (hint: there are less than six. second hint: f is the sixth letter of the alphabet) this class is a classic example of a worthless lecture tacked on to a \'get your hands dirty\' machine shop lab that is actually lots of fun... wilson doesn\'t make it any better

I love going to his class, except for test days. He is so knowledgeable and I love all of the facts that he knows and shares with us. He makes funny jokes sometimes but then other times I really hope he's seeing a therapist. The tests kinda suck because the questions are SO specific and it's a lot of information but I enjoyed learning in that class. He also made participation easy and fun. I recommend not buying the book. He literally brought it up once in our class and then we never used it again and the tests are based on his lectures, not the book. If you love learning and don't mind a lot of note taking 10/10 recommend taking Wilson.

Finally!! In my 3 years at Cal Poly, Wilson is the first EE lab professor I've had that actually understands EE students, and the EE material. The class is just like any other EE lab: prelabs, lab reports, a quiz, and a lab final. However, Wilson truly wants you to understand the material. Before every lab he talks about the experiment and all of the different tricks to make the lab easier for you. For the quizzes and final he tells you whats going to be covered. The final is straightforward, and split up into a written portion and a lab practical in which you are given an unknown semiconductor and you have to identify it and find different parameters for it. He does have a specific format for his lab reports, and he does grade them kind of harshly, so do your best work on them. Overall, great professor, I definitely recommend him, I'm taking him again for 347.
