Probably the worse teacher I've had at poly. There is two midterms and a final. For the midterms the only help she gives you is saying "study everything" so she is saying remember everything I have said to you over the past month and a half. Plus her lectures are her standing in front of the class literally reading the PowerPoint she gave out. The final is the worst. She throws in a ton of extra stuff to confuse you and her study guide....... you guessed it. Study everything. Ohh so now you think okay I will go into office hours to get help. No. No help. Oh so you think she curves the test...... nope. 60% of the class fails but because one person got a 95 no curve.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The only reason i did reasonably well was because i spent hours upon hours in the library memorizing everything from the entire course. You will not know what is going on in this class. You will be bored because she is boring, and she will not help you. Don't even bother going into office hours. Sometimes i wondered if she even knew what she was teaching. By far the WORST professor at Cal Poly.

I'm not really sure why these reviews are so negative other than 310 generally being a boring class. I felt really bad for Professor Tilley during the quarter because she would pass out a copy of the powerpoint at the beginning of class and then there was a massive shuffle out leaving the remaining 10 out of 50 to listen to the lecture. If you actually go to the lecture you'll do way better. It's a pretty straightforward class and if you've taken any pre-calc and/or stats class you've probably seen a good amount of the material before. I'm guessing that those saying she added extra content to the midterm just studied the handouts and didn't bother coming to class.

This class was a little bit tough. There were only about 15 students in the whole class and it was pretty bare throughout the year. The class is structured around reading (2 chapters a week is a bit in this textbook), lab assignments, a midterm, and a final. The class wasn't too bad overall, but Tilley can be a bit dry at times and monotone. She does all of her notes off of an overhead projector, which makes it a little difficult to focus on. She hardly writes on the chalkboard and since the material for this class was boring (Real Estate Priniciples), she didn't make it much more interesting. However, she is very helpful in office hours, and will always answer your question in class. She is knowledgable but her lectures are dry. The midterm and final were relatively hard. You need to know a lot of different terms and processes of law and real estate. Be prepared to read the book in its entirety to do well on the tests. I recommend the self tests at the back of each chapter as she tends to take lots of multiple choice questions from them. One great thing that she does is that she hands out study guides before the tests and they are pretty detailed in what you need to go over. Read the book and show up to class and you will do fine.

I had professor Tilley the very first quarter she taught AGB 410, and it was a nightmare. She didnt know the material so when we asked her a question she never knew the answer. The project in the class is a joke too, especially when she doesnt know how to do anything she is asking the students to do. During lecture she would scribble stuff on the board randomly to where nothing made sense. i have had her for 3 classes now: AGB 310, AGB 410, and AGB 324 be adviced that you will not get any higher learning out of this teacher.

The class was somewhat boring due to the nature of the material, but Professor Tilley was very clear and straightforward about quizzes and midterms. There were 5 quizzes one midterm and a final. The midterm was exactly what she put on the study guide. We competed in a loan contest that was put on by a local bank, it was a lot of work but was a great learning experience, something actually useful. We went to the bank and gave a presentation on whether or not to grant a company a loan. We presented to the presidents/vice presidents of the bank so it was somewhat intimidating, but a great way to learn the ag lending process. She was very helpful, quick to respond to emails and a really nice person. I would recommend taking her class.
