The class was EXTREMELY BORING to say the least, but it is an easy A. You have to go to all classes to get participation (which counts for 40%). She is pretty cool if you give her notice of absence before hand. Get a good group because the end project depends on it. The final was easy I did not study and got a B+ in the end.

This Class is an easy A, but it is very painful to attend. If you come to class bring a laptop or daydream... seriously. If you are motivated to learn you can learn something. If you participate in class you will have an A for sure.

This professor formulates the class in a way that the students decide exactly how much work they need to do. In our class we had an opportunity to do one assignment that boosted our grade up an entire letter grade (the assignment was one page long summary). The class is very simple and no matter what you will get an A. Instead of midterms and finals, we write papers. These papers are then graded by the grader not by the professor herself. As long as you answer the prompt directly without too much BS in it you should be okay. In the end it is just a good opportunity to meet some fellow AGB students and to have a good time. 90% of the class time is spent in groups, and try to take the two hour lecture spot because you will always get out an hour early.

AGB 401 is truly a shame to the Agrabusiness Department. We learn almost nothing in the class, and are subjected to ethnic/ cultural insensitivities. This class will not prepare you to deal with cultural diversity in the workplace. We should not need to take this.

Carol Sexton is here to sell you her book - nothing more. You must buy it online. Not available at the cal poly bookstore and not a single copy in the library for you. She sounds like she forgets what she's talking about halfway through every other sentence and fills in the blanks with "ahhmmm" so much that I had to start counting. 54 "ahhhhhmmm"s in 5 minutes. Honestly, this is one the worst professors Cal Poly has. She makes you sign something about paying attentiion to your e-mail early on in the quarter and then hands out or changes half of the stuff you are responsible for through 1 line e-mail updates that she sends frequently. She doesn't respect students, she wont go out of her way to help you in any way shape or form, and (I saved the best for last) She is considering making a facebook page for the class and will be expecting you to "like" it and start interacting on it. You are warned.

The homework assignments were easy, but did not help with preparing for tests. She was not prepared for lectures and group project expectations weren't clear. I learned very little and would not take this class again.

Dr. Sexton is an interesting teacher. She teaches a fun class, but can be somewhat hypocritical, for a cultural-diversity class. There are two different projects, both team oriented, so if you don't work well with groups you will do all the work, you will do no work, or you will be somewhere in between (there are no group member evaluations). She has a somewhat flexible grading policy, but the entire class has been restructured from what it used to be... It seemed like a lot of work compared to what my classmates that took it before Fall '11. The book is really difficult to read, it's more of a compilations of essays than a text, so you either have to be good at skimming or will actually have to read it. You can also only order it online, unless you can get it from a friend/craiglist. She used blackboard this quarter for all of the assignments, so it will be interesting how she uses polylearn Spring. She also sends short emails out sometimes that are either really important or helpful, but if you don't check your email often, you will miss out.

Dr. Sexton is a horrible teacher. Take anyone except for her for this class. She cannot finish a sentence without forgetting what she was talking about. You just do a bunch of group work that she then puts up on the board and talks about but when you are talking over her she acts like you are a bunch of kindergarteners and yells at you. She is the worst teacher ever. There is a huge HR project that she doesn't explain at all but thinks that you know exactly what to do. Overall she is awful and it is a waste of time to be in her class.

FUCK!!!! I do not even think she knows where she is most of the time. She seems like she is tripped out out drugs most of the time. FUCK her grader most of all, she is a straight nasty rig that probably has never hooked up with anyone in her life. The home works take forever to complete and you will do at best an 80 on them due to her grader. Did I mention she seems like she is on drugs? My friend who is also in the class, turned in the same paper as me (almost the same paper), got 20 points higher than me on a home work assignment paper/project. She has ZERO consistency and has ZERO idea about it. Did I mention, we have two projects with two different groups. She never explains how to do any of the projects and expects us how to do them all. So our group spends a couple hours in the library and she writes on our project that we did not follow directions!!!!! HOW THE FUCK WERE WE SUPPOSED DO DO IT THEN??? Very nice lady, but awful teacher in general.

Sexton is one of the nicest, most laid back teachers i've ever had the pleasure of taking at cal poly. i went into this class kinda dreading it.. but sexton made it fun and easy. sometimes her directions were unclear, but if you have any questions shell do her best to answer. she doesnt penalize anyone who misses the class and offers extra credit as much as she can. this is seriously the perfect class for seniors. its a lot of work in terms of meeting up with your groups outside of class, but i actually enjoyed all the projects we had to do. basically the class is made up of extra credit quizzes revolving around our readings, 4 case studies, 1 HR project, 1 collective bargaining project, and a take home final. such a chill and interesting class. i really like her and if you can take her, you should!

I took AGB 401 over a year ago and I still am bothered with what an utter failure this class was. Professor Sexton is a very nice woman, but she isn't capable of teaching a university-level course. Her lectures are slow any lack any sense of direction. While the class is extremely easy, I learned absolutely nothing. This required "class" is a blemish on the AGB curriculum and undermines Cal Poly's prestige. Essentially, you will be paying the school for an A. That might sound somewhat appealing, but the class is a complete joke. AGB 401 undermines the value of my diploma. Sorry.

Easy A, but the most boring class I have ever taken. This professor should not be teaching an ag class at all. She knows nothing about it and gives the worst ag examples ever! They should just have her stick to the business department, not ag business b/c she is clueless. Other than that, if you actually do the 2 main assignments that there were and participate a little bit in class, you should get an A.

Way too old to still be teaching. Cranky and no help when I came in to talk to her. She seems zoned out at all times.
