Troy is very generous in terms of his grading policies. If you have worked hard on a project and gave it thoughts, you will get a good grade on it. It is very relaxing but yet productive in his class. I have never felt super stressed and confused in his class like I did in a previous studio class. He will answer all your questions plus provide examples of architecture history in relation to your questions if possible. Not much homework at all. I would say he is one of the best professors in 1st year studio but why did he only have to teach one quarter of it?!?! Too bad for all future first years because he will only teach second year from now on, if everything runs accordingly.

ecs 207...this guy seems pretty nice, and he seems like a cool guy to talk to one on one...but he has a hard time giving lectures to big audiences. he seemed bored the entire time, and repeated the same stuff over and over. at the beginning he told us he didn't know why he got chosen to lecture...and at the end he told us that the entire course could have been summed up in 50 minutes. the whole class just felt like a waste of time.

Troy is a very relaxed and quiet person, but don't let that fool you... he is super intelligent and very experienced. I don't know of any subject that he doesn't know something about. He is into sustainable design in a big way. Our first project is a zero energy building made out of sustainable materials. He doesn't lecture alot but he is available for the whole class giving desk crits and individual attention.

Troy is a really decent, intellegent guy. He has a really unique subtle sense of humor, and once you understand it, you'll click. He really wants you to be able to motivate yourself, and he gave us a lot of freedom to explore different ways of going about our projects. I highly recommend him!

Troy is the best studio teacher I've had in over a year. He lets you do pretty much whatever you want but is available if you are stuck or having a design crisis. He is really funny even though at first he just seems shy. Just ask him about the peanut butter sandwich... He's great. Highly recommended.

What a nice guy...with an interesting, but good, sense of humor. The only problems occur with Troys critiques....if you can call them that, he doesnt like to express his opinion. A solid teacher, but dont expect much feedback.

Troy is super quiet, with a handful of odd funny jokes. He offers you a lot of freedom and little guidance, a lot is to do with how you interprete it. He wants you to think with your own mind. It sucks that he doesn't critique much (almost null). You have to really press him until you feel you've gotten the answer you're searching for. He's funny, cool, super smart, resourceful but lacks critiques.
