This class is a breeze. I didn't even buy the book and I got over 100 percent in the class. You definately don't need the book. Just paying attention in class and doing minimal studying is enough.

An incredibly easy class. The lectures often got a little boring, but it was super easy to get an A in this class. She gives you a ton of information and you have to take a lot of notes, but her tests were directly from the class lectures. The book was definitly not needed. She also let you use a notecard on all of your tests. So if you can write really small then its easy for you to fit all of the lecture notes on the notecard and then you are set for the test. Iddings gives extra credit opportunities and she is VERY helpful if you go to her office hours.

If you know how to write incredibly small then this is the class for you. You have three tests and a final ( you get to use one notecard per test and three on the final). Her tests are DIRECTLY from her lecture notes so DO NOT waste money on the book. So heres the deal..her lectures can be boring, but just go to class and copy down all the notes. When the test comes around, you can pretty much fit all the lecture info on the notecard if you know how to write super small. Also, she gives you problem sets (homework kind of) and here is a word of advice...GO TO HER OFFICE..she will look over all your problem sets so you get 100%. This class is an easy A if you do the right stuff.

This was the worst teacher ive had in my entire life. As a class, i have to admit it wasn't that hard, but Gale is by far the most boring teacher ever. She loves talking about herself and speaking in her English tongue (loves the words drawrings and figas). she is guaranteed to bore you to the point where you just want the quarter to be over. She reads off her notes for 50 straight minutes, and sometimes even she doesnt know what shes talking about. Her notes are very unorganized, and most of the time have no relevant or comprehensible point. This makes it extremely hard to study when exam time roles around. Luckily, the class avg on every test is a D, and she curves every single exam. She also gives extremely easy extra credit that can raise your grade a letter or two. now in terms of the class. There are 3 exams, and 3 problem sets, and a cumulative final. the third exam was the friday before finals week, adding to the stress level. the problem sets are very easy, and are usually due a couple days before the exam. Exams are very difficult because the material is very difficult, but she gives you cheat sheets to use, and sometimes study guides. There is also a 4 page report on any topic on meteorology. all you have to do is copy some info from the net on tornadoes, hurricanes, waves, etc, and its an automatic A. despite her accommodations for this difficult class, I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS. TAKE ANOTHER POINTLESS GE, OR AT LEAST STAY AWAY FROM IDDINGS, OR YOU'LL REGRET IT.

Iddings might be a little boring, but she's soo easy! there's 3 midterms, a final and a written paper. You get to have cheat sheets for all of them, and she offers 3 10pt. extra credit projects that are really easy. You don't really need the book...the test questions came mainly from her lecture notes. If anything, borrow the book that's on reserve or from a friend and look over it, but I regret buying the book since I barely used it.

Iddings was a HORRIBLE teacher!! You don't need the book for meterology, you never use it. Everyday you listen to her boring, redidcuolous lectures that she writes on the board and they make absolutely no sense! I didn't learn anything in this class. You will get an good grade easily though. She curves everything like crazy. My D on a test turned into a B. The extra credit really help your grade. This is class is easy, but I would NOT recommend taking it. She made about 5 mistakes every time she graded something, so all our grades were screwed up. I don't even trust that she submitted our final grade correctly, she is not smart enough to grade a freaking scantron!! I would NEVER take her again, I wouldn't be able to suffer through her lectures. I wanted to die everyday in that class. Her tests are the most random 25 questions, they are all a matter of luck, no matter how much you study. DON'T TAKE HER!!!

At times Dr. Iddings makes concepts more complicated than necessary, and at other times she seems to be speaking another language. Her lectures can be confusing at times, so ask her if you can record her lectures (it helps to go back and follow along again). Some test questions come entirely out of left field, so do the extra credit ("special projects") to offset that.

Professor Iddings presents her material in super old school, straight out of the book, monotonous lectures. If you\'re the type who finds it hard to pay attention in class you might as well just skip because her notes are from the book and her lectures are ridiculously boring. That being said, the class was extremely easy. she offered up 20 percent of your total grade in extra credit, and her test were all straight off the homework. Only issue I had is that she will CURVE DOWN at the end of the class and she does NOT give +/-. The cutoff for an A in my class was a 93. So beware of that when figuring out how much you need to study/do the extra credit. Oh and her British accent is entertaining.

Dr. Iddings was a typical college professor. The lectures were dry and boring, but as long as you did the homework and studied a decent amount for the quizzes, you\'ll do fine on those. However, the tests were very different from the quizzes; the tests were way harder compared to the quizzes. I also had Dr. Iddings for lab, which i found extremely easy. She told you exactly what you needed to do for the lab and what to turn in, which made for a short, quick and easy lab. Most of the time we were out of lab in about an hour or two.

She is really good for people who don\'t really care about physics, and wonder why they need it for their major. She doesn\'t test you on your knowledge of the depth of the material which is really good. Rather she is very straight forward and gives FAIR problems. She is super nice with the curve and is very understanding. Her lectures can be tough to get through because she may spend a lot of time on insignificant material, but she\'s a pretty good teacher and a nice lady. Everything about the grading system works in favor for the students. Take her if you want a good/easy going Physics class. O ya, and she rocks in lab.

DON\'T DO IT...I don\'t actually remember the last time I saw Dr. Iddings in class. She\'s been sick now for...let me see, 4 weeks or so. I feel bad for her, but really, we should have had another professor take over after she skipped out on the class the second week or so, sick. When she was in class, (rare) her explanations of material dragged on and were not very helpful. I got more out of just reading the book. As far as returning e-mails...she just didn\'t. The three labs the class did actually have with her were pretty straight forward. We were in and out in an hour and half or so. (She was much better in lab.) There were also a bunch of times where the class would show up to class and no one would be there. Finally a sub for lecture and lab came along, making the teacher total for class 3. Confusing. So if you don\'t want to go to class and don\'t want to cover the last couple chapters of material, oh right, and have an open note open book final on account of basically not having a teacher, then take Dr. Iddings.

Professor Iddings is the best lab teacher period. We usually got out around 2 hours early every lab. I'm not sure how she is as a teacher but she is amazing in lab.

Iddings is one of the coolest teachers youre ever going to have. I got a C in the class only because of my bitch lecture teacher, but Iddings was my lab professor. She literally tells you exactly what to do and what equations to use to figure out the lab, so its really easy. If you want to have a hell of a good time in a physics lab, take Iddings. "oh serrendipity"

Gayle Iddings (formally Gayle Cook) is an acceptable instructor. I had her for both lecture and lab, her lectures can be boring but they are endurable, and lab is a piece of cake, we normally got out of lab in about an hour or an hour and a half. Her tests and quizes were often very simple with the excption of a few derivation problems. By the numbers i sould have got a C but i guess she curves up a bit. All in all a better teacher than most the rest of the physics department.

I had Iddings for the PHYS 133 lab. The professors went to an online lab manual that turned out to have labs that were 10-20 pages long. Iddings didn't like that so she cut it down to 2-6 pages and skipped many questions in those pages. We never stayed longer than 2 hours and if we did it was because we messed something up during the lab. Take her if you can.

Iddings was ok.. She didnt do many experiments in class and she didn't make a very good attempt to explain things other than with letters and numbers, but isn't physics suppose to be a study of the physical world... besides that H/W- optional Quizzes - once a week, but your quiz is guarnteed to be identical to one of the homework problems from that week with changed numbers Midterms- 3 of them... not to bad! grades on a HUGE HUGE curve! She's not bad...

Iddings managed to take a really easy subject and distort it in a way that made it ridiculously hard. Her lectures would just confuse me, once I stopped paying attention to her and started reading the book more things got a lot easier and I started doing well. Unfortunately it was too late to completely save my grade. If you're taking her make sure to read the book. It's written pretty well and explains things much better than her lectures.

I learned that if I were to take up hunting, I should shoot deer, not bears, because a bear will hunt me back if I successfully wound it. Fascinating! I didnt know that the key to production and operations management was so brutally simple!
