Nothing short of amazing. One of the best teachers I have yet to have at Cal Poly. I truly do not have one complaint about her. Very knowledgable and intelligent. All the course readings are interesting and relevant. The work load is not to bad and her grading is fair. Highly recommended. A+

Stillman was one of the best professors I've had for a general ed course. I loved coming to this class every week. She does little to no lecturing, and the majority of class time is spent in group discussion. There are three minor papers due, and one large paper for the final. This is NOT one of the liberally-biased professors you've heard about who try to shove nazi-feminism down your throat. This truly is an open forum and one of the best experiences I've had at Poly.

Professor Stillman is THE best teacher I have had in my college experience. She sets very high standards for her students and aids them in meeting and even exceeding those standards. She holds nothing back and treats us like the college adults we are; her class material is challenging and rewarding. She stimulates discussion during class time and is willing to help you to better understand the material whenever you need. Take this professor if you truly want to learn something and grow as an individual.

Love her. So smart. So friendly. So helpful. It was so nice to truly learn and grow from a general ed class. I recommend her to anyone and everyone. He class periods are almost entirely discuaaion based and her grading is very fair. Be prepared to read a fair amount, but the material is very interesting and engaging. There is potential to take soooo much away from this class. I heghly suggest taking it with Professor Stillman.

Stephanie Stillman was my favorite teacher at Cal Poly. Hopefully she comes back when she's finished writing her book! She truly cared about her students and was more than helpful. She is a fairly easy grader on papers if you cover all the points you should and there are no tests, but dispite this you will probably learn more in one of her classes than any other class. I liked her Religion and Violence class so much that I took her again for Religion, Gender, and Society. They were both equally interesting. I love classes full of discussion and she welcomes EVERY viewpoint. Classes like this can become very controversial but she was very careful to not force her views on anyone. She was more of a discussion starter than anything and let us take the stage. She encourages her students to become involved and offers extra credit if any sort of religion event comes up on campus. I went to see one of the authors of a book we read in class and after she invited me and a few other students to have lunch with them. It was really an amazing opportunity that compares to nothing else I've experienced in college. If you show effort and interest in being in class, she will excuse your absenses without much question, but she does grade on attendence if you are a slacker and never come. I hope she comes back so more students will be able to take her class and see what a professor that truly cares is like. If you're reading this Stephanie, good luck on your book!
