I took this teacher without being rated on poly ratings and that was a mistake. She is extremely nice but does not present material clearly. Her homework problems are too easy but the problems she gives on tests are not at the level she'd been giving us. Also, she doesnt grade on a curve, so the grade you get on the test is the grade. Just do not take this teacher!

Dr. Robbins was an average professor and an average workload for a standard math class. She didn't expect more than what she should have. Assigned about 20 problems a night collected after a week and friday quizes on hw assigned. Three tests. Other than that go to office hours for help and she'll explain it to you more in depth. You have to be the student for her to be the teacher.

She is nice, but take her during a later class period. I took her at 7am and she made some serious mistakes sometimes during lecture. She would fix it, but it was hard to follow sometimes. She is a tough teacher, and 142 is a tough part in calc to get through, but you can do it! there is no need to avoid this teacher, but she is tough.

Dr. Robbins is ok. She's not terrible but she's not great either. She's not a great lecturer but the fact that she's super willing to help you out in office hours makes up ground for it. She even scheduled extra office hours with me to work out some problems I was having. Very nice lady. She is helpful, however, sometimes reluctant to spell out answers because I think she generally teachers higher math where a higher level of self reliance is expected. She either collects homework on Fridays or gives a quiz. You don't know until the day of which is helpful. She gives 3 midterms. And she requires that you have ALL EQUATIONS MEMORIZED! This sucks. Nice, understanding, helpful but not the greatest.

It's hard to say anything bad about Mrs. Robbins, but it's just as difficult to say something good about her as well. She's an average, run-of-the-mill math teacher. Nothing about the class or her teaching style makes it particularly interesting, but she grades fairly and gives lots of partial credit.

I agree with the last guy, you can't say anything bad, but when I try to think of good things, its just as hard. She effectively taught the class, but nothing special. Ok here are some good things: she is very nice and helpful during office hours. She grades easily and curves. That's all I can think of, but don't get me wrong, I'd take her class again.

I have to admit, I was pretty worried about having this professor after reading her PolyRatings. However, I found that she presents the material very clearly and answers homework questions in a very nice and systematic way. The test questions were about the same level of difficulty as the homework problems, so if you do the homework (correctly, and without copying the solutions manual), then you will do just fine. Be sure to memorize formulas in this class as it will be essential to doing well on the exams. I hope that I get this professor again in my future math courses.

proff robbins is so nice, but that is about the only thing good i can say about her; i consider myself a good student and i got a D in her class; she does NOT present the information clearly, i was in her office hours more than class trying to get clarification on well everything, if her office hours are busy then they are truly a waste of time and effort, she doesn't explain things well to a group because she wont go in depth and will pretty much repeat what she said the first time. and the homework she assigns does not match up to the material she tests on, she rarely ever went over examples that were at the same difficulty level as what she put on tests. like i said, i spent more time in that class, her office hours, in the math learning center, and studying than doing anything else and in result my other grades suffered. like i said she's really nice, but thats it.

Hey! she's a nice lady... However she doesn't present the material well and just hands out worksheets and expects you to kinda figure out the material on your own. In order to do well you pretty much have to teach yourself which isn't impossible. When she does present the material it is easy to understand. This really isn't that hard of a class. You just have to make sure your a beast at integration and keep up with the homework and do a lot more on top of that.

Not a great teacher but definitely not the worst either. She assigns only the hardest homework problems which only serves to confuse you and then puts some hard ones on the tests too. I would pick a different teacher if I could.

Robbins is an extremely nice person...but horrible teacher. Luckily since I had a kickass BC teacher and knew most of the material i got by this class. I couldn\'t say the same for others though, because robbins teaches her lessons straight out of the book and doesn\'t know anything besides the given example from the book. If you\'re easily annoyed by teachers making mistakes when they teach Robbins is not for you. She will make a mistake almost everyday and some student will have to correct her. She doesn\'t know the material and therefore cannot teach it. She doesn\'t take roll but has homework collections or quizzes on Tuesdays and Fridays. If there is a quiz that week then the homework is no collected. Take this professor if you know everything about parametric, polar, series, and vectors and want an east grade. If you have no prior knowledge stay far away from robbins.

I thought Dr. Robbins was an excellent Calc teacher. She\'s very helpful during office hours. I was in there once for the full hour because I was just slow on learning some of the concepts, and she didn\'t get tired of me or kick me out. Sometimes she had trouble answering questions students had in class, but overall I found her to be a very good teacher. Tests were pretty easy as well.

Pro: -tests and quizzes were easy even if you couldn't do every single homework problem on your own -usually helpful during office hours Con: -lectures felt rushed and I would walk out of class feeling more confused. you have to teach yourself from the book -Collects homework and checks random problems. (homework can be tough and she can't even solve some of them on her own. why collect it?) -She loves proofs. But I'm the kind of person who didn't really care for long, elaborate proofs on every little thing. -more comments- When I took Math 143, Dr. Robbins had just come back from sabbatical leave where she took a break from teaching for a year. Maybe because of that, she would often get confused with her own example problems in lectures and would begin to frantically erase and rewrite and make even more mistakes. When you ask questions at the beginning of class on a homework problem, often times she would just go at it and the math became ugly and unmanageable yet she kept going and it confused the class. After spending about 15 minutes of the class on a question that got out of hand, she would just say something like, "well, the integral for this problem is listed on the back of the book so we probably should have used that to help us"... or "you just know that so-and-so is this way" and start doing stuff with her arms trying to describe how we should finish up the problem. I'm pretty sure she can solve the problems if she had a lot of time on her own, but her brute force tactic doesn't work well in a classroom environment

she collects homework every tuesday and friday, which is kinda different, but it was usually easy homework. in class she never did many examples and it didnt seem she knew how to present the material well, although she seemed to know it... examples would have made it way better. there is nothing too terrible to say about her, but there is defiantly nothing great to say either. the best thing i could think of to say for robbins is that i can tell she cares, and in her office hours she is always willing to try and help you understand...

Robbins is a an okay professor. She's not bad but not the best. She can confuse students in her lectures. Her quizzes are straightforward and easy but her midterms are pretty challenging. There's only a few questions so if you miss half of a question twice, you're already at a B-/C+. She is helpful in office hours and very flexible. Overall, if you can find a better professor, find him/her. But if you take Robbins, it's not the worst thing ever.

Robbins was great! She answered questions first thing everyday. But you really have to be on top of your stuff to get a good grade in the class. She doesn't curve tests and there is a lot of homework and quizzes. But it was good because there was a lot of practice and the tests reflected the homework and quizzes. Overall, good experience.

She's a really nice person and genuinely cares about her students. However, I didn't feel like she taught things in a way that people at my level could understand, but instead at a level that she could understand (not effective as I do not have a phd in math). I am currently taking her 143 class and I really want to advise future students to stay away from this professor. I personally love math and have done well in my past calculus classes. However, this professor has made me think twice about making that statement again. I hate going to class because she will make mistakes on example problems leaving students more confused than ever. I personally cannot trust her examples because I simply do not know if she has made a mistake or not. Maybe its just me, but I am having a horrible experience in her class and advise all of you to steer clear.

I absolutely loved professor Robbins as a person! But her teaching was absolutely awful. I didn't learn anything from her lectures because she is basically a living breathing math textbook which made her lectures very hard to follow for the average math student. I tried very hard in the class. I went into office hours, did all my homework, and watched countless Kahn academy videos, which helped me get a B+ in the class. She curved the first midterm 10% because everyone failed, and I'm pretty sure she curved the final even more because it was VERY VERY HARD! If you are brilliant at math, or had taken calc 3 in high school, then Robbins will be perfect for you. If series is new to you, try taking someone else.

I liked her and did well in the course all year. Then failed the final. It brought my grade from an A- to a D+ so that was awesome. I lost my housing and scholarships because of that. Dr. Robbins is my favorite teacher this quarter. She is kind and understanding, usually going over any homework problems you get stuck on in class. Of course, that could mean too many homework questions could mean rushing through lecture. Other reviews mention that she makes mistakes in examples, which is true. I think we all make mistakes in math, it's just really obvious when it's on the board for everyone to see. I've made my own share of careless errors on her tests and was able to get partial credit on those problems. Her office hours are really the most helpful. She takes the time to go over problems or concepts without ever making you feel stupid for not understanding a concept. You can tell she really cares about the class and usually has a day just to ask questions before a big test. 2 big quizzes, 2 midterms, 1 final. Homework was collected sporadically. The only main complaint is how we spent the first week covering snowflakes. I know it's Koch curve, but many of her worksheets are heavy on "learn by doing" to get a formula or concept. I noticed we covered less than other calc classes, but hopefully going deep instead of going broad will work out in the long run.

Professor Robbins is a very nice woman. That being said, she cannot teach. She spends most of class explaining homework problems, then lamenting the fact that she has no time to teach the material, briefly covers said material, and then you leave. Professor Robbins obviously understands math, but she fails to convey that through her brief explanations of the theories. I spent so much time reading the textbook and looking things up just to get a grasp on the material for the class. Her office hours aren't that helpful either, considering she just works more problems and flails her hands in explanation any time she makes a mistake (which is often). The quizzes and tests all have very few questions on them too, so if you miss one problem suddenly you drop an entire letter grade. There were math majors in my class that were just hoping to get out of Professor Robbins class with a C. That should tell you exactly how difficult this class was.

Overall an ok Calc III class. Robbins uses her own worksheets for homework without posted solutions. Because of this, most of the lecture is spent on going over homework problems, which leaves little time for learning new material. Many homework questions feel a little too conceptual and not indicative of material on tests. Fortunately she also provides optional textbook questions with each homework assignment, which gave me plenty of problems with solutions I could check. Before each quiz or exam, she will post a review document with textbook questions to study, though theres often too much material to cover. However, if you focus on the handful of optional textbook questions for each homework assignment and go over your notes, you will be fine (this helped me A LOT on my final). The quizzes and exams only have four or five questions and can have difficult past material (memorize your old derivates and trig!), but she's a merciful grader and will give you a significant amount of partial credit for any work shown. Overall this is a very do-able Calc class and Robbins can effectively explain Calc concepts, though the way the class is structured can be frustrating.

Marian Robbins is an extremely nice person, but a very poor and inadequate teacher for Calc Three. It seems as though she doesn't fully understand all the material, so when she tries to teach these subjects its is confusing to say the least. in addition, she messes up problems multiple times a class and has to be corrected by students. I went to her office hours many times, and they weren't very helpful, if she does know the answer she will explain it in her way of thinking, without pausing and making sure you understand. Robbins does not curve ANYTHING in the course so good luck. I recommend if you get Robbins for calc three, teach yourself using the book. Her office hours are mostly a waste of time and most likely will not assist you.

Marian is a very nice lady, but I'd recommend trying to find another professor. Her tests are much harder than the hw and examples she does in class. The way she grades homework doesn't really make sense because every day she could either give you a hw quiz, collect your hw, or do nothing. She's helpful in office hours, but her office hours are immediately after class so unless you start looking through the homework in class, you won't realize that you need help until after office hours. She is pretty good about responding to emails though. She tends to rush through her lectures, I tend to find myself not really able to comprehend what she's actually saying because I'm just trying to write everything down. If you do poorly on a midterm however, she will give you points back if you do well on the final. Unfortunately, if you didn't do well on the midterms, it's probably because her tests are so different from what she teaches, and the final is no exception. If you do take her, I would advise taking her later in the day because the earlier you have her the more mistakes she seems to make. She is incredibly nice though!

Easily the worst instructor I have ever had. The only reason she has 2 stars on here, and probably the only reason she got a job in the first place, is because she is nice. She has no idea how to correctly convey material, and will make mistake after mistake until a student corrects her and then the whole example she spent half the class going over is wrong. Her tests are awful, way harder than any examples (if she does any in the first place) and homework she assigns. Terrible homework system, doesn't tell you if it's going to be due or if there will be a quiz on it, but could be neither. Like what. Just do not take her. Will only frustrate you.

This class was horrendous. I had her at 7 am and we got through about half of the material she intended to cover every day but were expected to be able to keep pace with the other lectures. Her homework was never related to things we did in class, and if you want to do the homework you need to either have a really good tutor/workshop leader or go to her office hours EVERY DAY. The experience I had with her really made me question Cal Poly's standards because she should not have been teaching. Crash every class you can so that you don't have to take her. I worked my ass off, I'm and engineer, and I went to her office hours all the time. Still got a B- and that was basically a gift, most people failed. People would fail her class, take a "worse" poly rated professor the next quarter and pass. I cannot warn you enough. This was the class was the worst thing in the world. Disorganized, inconsistent deadlines (homework was never due but she'd collect it randomly and quiz randomly), and basically everything you don't want, she was. Do not take her.

Professor Robbins is a genuine and kind-hearted women. Her enthusiasm for the subject matter and eagerness to teach the class is great! However genuinity and being kind won't help become a good teacher. Some people are born smart and lack the ability to teach and others are born smart and great teacher. The former sits better with Marian Robbins. She reads off of the outline (something students don't need help doing) every class and doesn't provide extra information. She does not present the material clearly. If you want a class where you have to teach yourself, then this class is for you. But for the majority of students, who come to college to BE TAUGHT from professors, this class is not for you. You have a quiz every Monday and out of the 20 homework problems, they are usually the hardest 2, the ones that she didn't even teach in class, so you better be teaching yourself. She drops the 2 lowest quizzes. Overall, nicest professor but not the greatest teacher.

Dr. Robbins' lectures tended to feel rushed and usually left me confused. However, if you really DO the homework (check answers and figure out why you got something wrong) and form study groups you can do well. Robbins was a pretty good teacher. Every day she hands out a sheet or small packet of the material going to be covered in class that day. It's like a condensed version of the material covered in the book. These were really nice to have, because typically they would have better tougher examples than the book. She struggled to effectively convey the information to us through lecture, but then again I had this class at 7am every day so I can't exactly say I was alert and ready to learn. With that being said, I often took advantage of her office hours. She is very helpful in office hours, and is extremely motivated to helping you understand the material. She gave quizzes every Monday, which kinda sucked, but they were pretty straight forward most of the time. She also drops the lowest quiz grade of the quarter, which is nice. The midterms, however, were kinda tough. The questions are harder on the midterms than the quizzes, and there's a lot more room for error per problem. I never got above a B on her midterms or final, but as a result of doing well on her quizzes, I was able to pull a low B in the class. She also replaced the lowest midterm grade with the final grade, but she does not curve any tests. She might curve the overall grading scale of the class depending on how good/bad the class as a whole does, meaning an A in her class could be an 80%+ instead of a 90%+ ect. Overall, pretty good teacher, but be prepared to teach yourself from the book.

Dr. Robbins is a very nice professor. Her class, even at 8AM, was something to look forward to. She hands out an outline at the beginning of pretty much every class, so you never need to take your own notes. They form a well-condensed study guide by the end of the quarter. You also barely need to read the textbook, pretty much only for the homework problems which she rarely, if ever, collects. Her grading is also fairly generous, as she drops two quizzes and three homework assignments at the end of the quarter (or at least did for my quarter). She does occasionally feel a little rushed, and we pushed a lot of material back to move along the curriculum. However, she does compensate for these delays on the exams and never tests on material she hasn't taught. This class felt almost like a high school class without the homework.

Honestly, Professor Robbins is the absolute best math professor I have had at Cal Poly. She basically takes all of the notes for you and if you review her examples you will never even have to crack open the textbook. Once you get into the rhythm of the class, and you have a few people you can copy notes off of in class, you might as well stop going. The way she lays out her notes makes the material very easy to self-teach. Her grading scale is very fair- just make sure to do well on the quizzes, and she drops your lowest midterm if you do better on the final. The only complaint I have is regarding her homework policy. She posts recommended homework problems everyday, but never collects them which makes it really easy to slack off. As long as you make sure to stay on top of the material and not cram it all in a few days before exams, I think that this is a totally manageable class. Although I am slightly biased because math is one of my favorite/strongest subjects, I would still recommend Robbins to anyone.

Robbins is one of the sweetest people, but not a very effective instructor. Homework isn't collected unless she specifically tells you, but is definitely worth doing. Quizzes are weekly on Mondays, two are dropped and a few even got canceled. However, this was our class in a nutshell: she'd spend 30 min of a 50 min class going over homework from the previous day. Then she would rush through new material leaving students confused. This then caused students to be unable to do the homework. Then they'd ask lots of questions the next day... and this cycle continued for the last 5 weeks of class. Her grading policies are fair and clear and so are her exams. She does tend to focus on conceptual content, which can be a huge point deduction if you don't fully understand mathematical concepts. Office hours are SO helpful. She is very approachable and willing to help you with anything you're struggling with. However, I felt I spent too much time clarifying concepts that should have been covered in lecture. Overall if you took Calc BC and scored well because you genuinely understood the concepts, this class should be fairly easy for you. A lot of the content is a review that goes slightly more in-depth. If you struggle with math and are willing to put in lots of additional time, Robbins is always willing to help, but if you want a straightforward class to power through, I suggest finding another professor.

Robbins is probably the worst math teacher I've had at poly yet. Believe me, this is comparing her to a teacher who came from connecticut for a quarter, wore big bowties, and said is this fine every 4 words. To begin with, she knows the information herself but is absolutely terrible at relaying it to her students. She includes proofs on her linear algebra midterms and finals. No teacher does that(well I guess she does), but my friends who have had other teachers for this class said they didn't even have to consider a proof. I mean come on, Methods of Proof is 248 not 206. Unless you are absoulutely screwed with your priority. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. And this is being nice to her.

She means well, she really does. She gets the material herself but isn't the best as conveying it to the class sometimes. There are small mistakes here and there that sort of throw you off when you're just learning something. Also has a habit of going a bit fast and rushing. As one evaluator has previously stated, likes to put proofs on her tests. I can't say I was a fan of the proofs, but I guess that's how it goes.

Dr. Robbins is highly intelligent and knowledgable about Linear Algebra. Personally, I was very challenged with her techniques because she likes to get students to guess at how to do a lot of problems and how to understand theorems. I still don't know whether I was confused because of how she taught the material, or because it was just confusing regardless. Somehow I managed to get an A throughout the portion of the quarter where she was my teacher (she had to take a leave of absence half way through). Now that I've given my criticism, I have to give credit where it is due. Dr. Robbins is extremely kind, helpful in office hours, and funny. She makes coming to class a joy because of her radiant personality. Lastly she is a stone cold fox. One of those women where you just can't guess her age. I was not going to rate until I read the comment preceding mine. I don't think that Robbins deserves quite the bashing that you gave her. Yes, homework is required and graded for completion and that might be a bummer to some of the lazier students, but it's also important for learning the material. Honestly, what math class doesn't have homework that's graded? I've had a bunch of upper division classes where I do all the problems to the best of my ability yet still get no higher than a C. At least in Robbin's class effort is recognized and rewarded. And as for the tests, they're fair. Understand that this teacher won't be a cakewalk and expect to work on your own and her class will work for you. As for her lectures, she's not necessarily perfect, but the pace of her class is adjusted based on the students understanding. I would describe her as a diamond in the rough teacher, you only understand the value retrospectively once you are using the skills you thought you never learned from her in later math classes. I say that she's a good teacher to experience on one of your lighter quarters.

Robbins isn't bad at all. The material in 244 isn't that hard to begin with and her quizzes and tests aren't too tough either. You just need to do the homework and make sure you have the formulas/methods memorized for the tests. She can get a bit lost in lecture sometimes, but with average effort outside of class you should be fine.

Robbins is not the best teacher, but not the worst at Cal Poly. I just hated going to MATH 244 at 8AM in the morning so I failed. This class is hard and she doesn't make in any easier to understand. However I'm not the most reliable source since I stopped showing up the second half of the quarter because I was totally confused and didn't seem to learn any more information showing up then just using the book. My advice try to take another teacher, if not oh well there is worst.

Professor Robbins present material in class in a very clean manner. She knows what parts are difficult and what parts are easy and spends an appropriate amount of time on every subject as needed for the class to understand it. Her homework policy, 50% quiz, 50% collect, never telling which one it'll be, works fine, though it can be frustrating when you spent hours on homework only not to have it collected... but she does warn you about that eminent frustration on the first day of class. If you take Math 244 with Professor Robbins, you won't be disappointed. (Just don't sleep through class 2 times a week)

To be very honest about Marian Robbins..She is a horrible teacher. She's like a walking, talking math book and the only benefit you get from coming to class is hearing her read to you the literal definitions from all of the linear book. Class was always very boring, and unless you knew exactly what was going on, you would be lost for the entire hour. Her grading policy was by the far the most frustrating part, however. The homework's were assigned every day and collected twice a week. She said that half the time homework will be collected, and the other half there will be a quiz, but our class only had two quizzes the entire quarter. With the homework, the problems she assigned were always way more then needed to be, and you never had enough time to finish them. I literally had to to copy cramster almost every day homework was collected. Oh and the homework was out of 100 points. If there were 20 questions assigned and you didn't do just one, you lost 15 points. No matter what. Her tests weren't too bad, but like the homework she is merciless with partial credit. I had a B going into the final, walked out of it feeling pretty good, and ended up with a C in the class. So I had a feeling she just docked an extreme amount of points on every problem for no reason. I would not advise taking her. It was not an enjoyable quarter and I put in a decent amount of work to feel pretty pissed about the grade I received. Marian Robbins, I hope you read this. You really need some change.

Never have I seen such vigor in a math professor! She definitely brought an energy to class and seemed to really care about the material. It didn't always bring the class to clarity however. Expect a lot of writing of words rather than equations, and a lot of time spent on her trying to think of the right way to convey something that would be much easier to describe with an example. Grades were based on Reading Reflections, Homework/Quizzes, 2 Midterms, and the Final Exam. Either homework is due every other day, or there's a quiz, but we only ever had two or three quizzes. She was definitely willing to help students with their problems, but that usually led to 30 minutes of review and then 20 on the new material. Overall, I'd recommend her over other teachers, and her energy was a welcome change.

Dr. Robbins is really nice, but I dont really know what happened this quarter. I learned more about linear algebra in my circuits class than from math244. She keeps you on your toes by having a quiz or homework due twice a week, but it doesnt really work. I just did the homework and hoped there wasnt a quiz after I spent all those hours working. I dont know what my grade will be since the class lacks structure and it could swing from anywhere from a D to an A. The tests werent really like the homework and I never knew how to prepare for them even with a vague study guide. Overall, you'll learn more from the book if you take her, but she's much better in office hours. The final was much harder than we expected.

Mrs. Robbins is a gifted and considerate teacher seeking to be the best for her students. Sweet nature, flexible scheduling, knowledgeable, and even a bit goofy. More submissive personality type allows for easy interaction but can weaken class structure. Biweekly quizzes or homework based on class pacing (ahead or behind). Straightforward but thorough exams. Good teacher overall just a terrible quarter for me.

Professor Robbins is extremely kindhearted, however I found that she was an ineffective teacher. While her teaching style may have been suitable for other classes (particularly those in which students may have some exposure to the subject material beforehand), for linear analysis 1 I (and many of my classmates) had an extremely difficult time understanding course material. While I will note that the class was extremely early (7am), I found Professor Robbins' lectures to be very disjointed. They were primarily based around long (and sometimes convoluted) example problems. Considering how abstract the subject of linear algebra is, I would have better understood the course material more thoroughly if she gave us some background on what we were learning before diving into examples. Ultimately the lectures were hard to follow, almost to the point of being useless. I also have some complaints about the way she chooses to assign homework. She assigns two homework assignments per week, however she doesn't tell you whether she will collect it or give you a quiz. We had very few quizzes this quarter. Additionally she assigns reading reflections online, which, along with the assigned true or false questions on the homework were arbitrary (in my opinion). This resulted in an extremely heavy workload. Additionally she graded every homework assignment based on correctness. Given the steep learning curve for concepts in linear algebra, I thought this was an unreasonable grading system. Homework/quizzes/reading reflections make up 25% of the overall grade, so in theory it could act as a buffer against test scores, however I found my homework grade was actually lower than my combined midterm average (which was already very low). Grades aside, I'm frustrated because this is the first class where I feel like I haven't gained a grasp of the material. I have to continue to linear 2, and I'm extremely concerned that I won't pass, because my understanding of linear 1 is so lacking. Finally, I should mention that it's not normal for me to write a confession like this about a teacher, especially one as nice as Professor Robbins, however I have to advise not to take her, given my own experience with her.

Robbins is such a nice lady but confusing when it comes to lectures. She explains everything in a way that makes harder to understand than it should be. She cares very much about the students and really tries to help, but everything from the sporadic lectures to the inconsistent notes makes the class harder then it needs to be.

Marian Robbins is an extremely caring professor that often stays way later than her required office hours and won't leave until you understand the material. She genuinely cares for her students and wants them to succeed. The only thing that I found to be somewhat of a downside was her teaching style. She uses the first 20 minutes of class to answer questions which usually spills over 5 minutes which causes the actual lecture to be a bit rushed at the end. Overall she is a great professor and I wouldn't mind taking her again.

Robbins is one of the kindest and nicest proffesors I have had. She is passionate and knowledgeable about the topic and she really cares about her students and really wants you to succeed in her class. That being said, she can be a bit scattered and unclear in her lectures and I found that pretty frustrating. But she makes videos and puts quizzes on polylearn that help a lot. Also if you read the book and go to office hours you will do fine in the class. Overall, very nice and helpful proffesor and teacher, just a below average lecturer.

Dr. Robbins is nice, and means well, however; it doesn't seem she actually looks at the assignments given, and when we asked questions about our homework in class there were numerous times where she took the whole class time, and still didn't finish...somewhat annoying...I?m not sure my grade in the class yet as our final was today...Perhaps for another class she'd be fine, but not methods of proof.

Robbins is awesome, this class was a breeze. If the material gets tough she will spend as much time as needed to make sure you understand SO ASK QUESTIONS. Best math class I have taken at poly so far

Professor Robbins was great at explaining the more difficult concepts in Analysis. However, sometimes I wished she wasn't quite as patient with her students. I would do the readings and come to class prepared, and then we would spend the whole class going over things we were supposed to already know. I also wish she had had more challenging problems on the two midterms. They were extremely easy, and then on the final she nailed us. Almost noone correctly answered problems 5-8. (Which is basically half the final.)

This was the best teacher I have ever had. She is truly one of the most caring Teachers when it comes to making sure that her students fully understand the material. If you put in any effort, then she will reciprocate the effort 10 fold, maybe even a 100 fold. I think this was one of the hardest classes I had at Cal Poly as a math major but after really learning what it meant to study for a class, and attend office hours, she was the most helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend her for any class as long as you're not weird about going to office hours... because office hours help out a BUNCH. Homework was fair and she extended deadlines if needed... and the tests were, well long and hard at beginning but she adjusted accordingly.
