Hopefully my rating was fair. Dr. Javadpour seems to be a very intelligent person, and defiantly knows what she is talking about, but I think she has great difficulty connecting with her students and recognizing that they might not understand the material as clearly, or as quickly as she expects. Needless to say I had a difficult time. Who knows, I may be the only one. Other than that, there is consistent homework, which is always collected, and she is pretty clear about what to study for on the exams.

Roya is an excellent teacher in project management. This was one of the first classes where I felt like a lot was expected of us. She is great at pulling together textbook examples and her own working experience to give us the best knowledge in this subject. The material might seem a bit dry at first, but it's all very helpful when it comes to the project. She has good connections with the school and community, so the groups worked on projects that would actually make a difference, whether planning Open House or community events.

Dr. Javadpour did a very good job laying out the material for this class which made attending enjoyable. There was weekly homework which is fairly easy if you attend class. She provided PowerPoint slide printouts of the lectures so students could focus primarily on listening and interacting than tedious note taking. I think more professors should do this! The lab usually took the entire period but in the end I came out with a good knowledge and appreciation for Microsoft Project. I learned a lot about project management in this class and would highly recommend her for this course.

I was a little disappointed in her inability to return any lab work throughout the quarter and also most of the assignments. Going into the final no one really knew what their grade was in the class which was really frustrating. Her lectures were generally straight off of a powerpoint except near the end of the quarter where she had lectures that you simply had to take notes on to study from for the final; also take for example, on the midterm there was a short answer question that was from a lecture on a topic she briefly mentioned that was not provided anywhere else and was not strongly emphasized. I feel like the problem portion of her tests are very straightforward but the short answer questions can sometimes be tricky like the aforementioned example. Overall, I would say an okay professor.

Roya was a great professor for this class as she seemed like she knew the material very well. The lectures seemed a little dry, but it could have been that the lectures were in the evening. I would HIGHLY recommend taking this class during Winter quarter since you get to organize the annual Move To Build 5k/10k fundraiser for PolyHouse. Otherwise, you just do a group project which I can't imagine fulfills our "Learn By Doing" philosophy better than Move To Build (it's also a lot of fun!). Other than that, there are multiple homework assignments that are pretty simple, a midterm, the project, and a final, each being worth 25% of your grade. She even waived the final for us since we did a great job with Move To Build. The person below me is absolutely correct in saying she has a problem giving back our assignments in a timely manner, as she gave back our midterms on the last day of class. She also ends her sentences with the word 'right' often. Overall, I had a good experience and I would definitely recommend Roya for this class.

Honestly, this class doesn't need a professor. All she does is read directly off her powerpoint slides, making for the most goddamn boring class of all time. If it wasn't for the fact that she assigns homework randomly during the class period, I would not have wasted my time showing up to this class.

Dr. Javadpour has an open door policy, so the student will find her friendly and accessible for questions. Her lectures are clear and interesting, although it was mostly powerpoint slides and passive learning. As a young faculty member, she doesn't have much industry expereince, so all the class examples came from the textbook, which I found to be kinda dry. She is very strong on management concepts, but weak in mathematical application. Also, her schedule must have been very tight, because graded homework assignments were not returned in a timely fashion or at all. Personally, I think she needs to push the class more and give regular feedback. Overall, I'm glad that I took Supply Chain Management (IME 417) with Dr. Javadpour since I learned a lot of valuable material. As a young instructor, she needs to improve her organizational and technical skills, which I'm sure she will do with time and experience.
